They don't provide table service at this establishment but that's fine, the kitchen staff always brings out the pizza, appetizers & are helpful and even bring extra plates when they are not busy. Had the pick 3 appetizer as well, enjoyed that it was out well before the pizza so we could snack on it as we were pretty hungry. Definitely took care of the kitchen in the tip! I can't really comment on the young lady bartender, she didn't really give friendly service when we came in & went up to get our drinks, told us several times rudely there was no table service. Yes, we acknowledged that when we walked in and weren't even there 30 seconds, live in the area and saw the signs. Just wrote it off to her having a bad day I guess (shrug), it was just odd as there were only about 8 customers there...all at the bar not sure why. read more

Pizza is pretty good. Nothing special but also not the worst. Came out kinda burnt on a few slices. Can be a little pricey on some drinks, but they also have specials and $2 beers. Kept it simple and Ordered the sausage and pepperoni. Taste and texture wise it kinda compares to a fast food pizza, like dominos or Pizza Hut. Value is the greatest asset. Staff was friendly and apologetic that they don't do military first responders discount. This is carryout only. No dine in service. This business is attached to the tavern. You can also order and receive food in the tavern through the pass-thru window. Two size pizzas, 9 inch and 12 inch. The place we wanted to grab dinner was closed so we came here. There was zero social distancing. They had a full crowded bar. None of the kitchen staff had masks on. There was a man set up selling Trump merchandise. We ordered a cheeseburger medium with fries, a 12 inch pizza and cheese garlic bread. The burger came out with chips they fixed that no problem. The burger was very well done not medium. The garlic cheese bread wasn't edible. It had so much cheese but it was barely melted so the texture was awful. Same with the pizza. There was a lot of cheese but towards the center it wasn't fully melted. The only enjoyable part was by the crust where the cheese was more done. The kitchen and bar are billed separate. We had two Millers, a tea, and a soda it came to $11 befor tip. The receipt didn't list prices but that seems pricey for 2 cheap beers a tea and soda.I won't be going back. read more

Some friends and I went to Bell Mell's for our night out. We were there for about a total of 10 minutes before the disgusting rap music forced us to leave. F-ing this and that, mf-er b----, mf-er dyke, etc. I asked the bartender if they would please change the station, and what I got was, "Hey, some lady out here wants you to turn your music down!" No, I didn't want it down, I didn't want to listen to such obscene "music". Nothing was done, so we left. This was one of if not the best pizza I have had in Port Clinton Ohio! One thing that was confusing tho when ordering they said what size 9" or 12" but ever where we seen it said only one size so that maybe something new I'm not sure on that. But just a heads up the 9" pizza has more of a traditional pizza crust as the 12" is more of a thin crust pizza both was really good. We also tried the macaroni and cheese bacon bites and they are a must try! Sooo Good! The cheese bread was great as well. So I would recommend this place for sure. read more

I've been coming to Port Clinton since I was a kid, and it's been legitimately a 2nd home for my family. As in, I spent weekends living there since I was in diapers. Back in the day, selection was sparse, but Bell Mell existed. It was what my dad ordered for my sister and I when we behaved. It was a treat for us and still is. We have been patrons for 20 years and will continue to do so. Some renovation may have changed it aesthetically, but the tried and true pizza they have... hasn't changed at all. It feels so warm and loving like home and the fact that it's remained untouched after all these years, Makes it even better. They have a bar with a Cheers vibe and tons of tables and room to watch OSU games. OSU games there are so incredibly fun!Thank you for being so good to our family after all these years, Bell Mell. We were in Port Clinton and looking for pizza so we gave Bell Mell a shot based on their good reviews. Its a bar, so you sit wherever you want and order food at their food window and drinks at the bar. After you order food they give you a number placard to put on your table and they bring it out to you. It took about 15 minutes for our appetizer to come out and about 40 minutes for the pizza. This wasn't a problem because they were very busy (there were shooters from Camp Perry in town). We noticed later after most people left that pizzas were coming out pretty fast. We ordered the pickle fries appetizer and a medium deluxe pizza. The pickles came out hot and crispy and had good flavor. The deluxe pizza came right out of the oven and it was very good; plenty of toppings too. We really liked the crust, crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The staff was friendly and even though they were pretty busy the bartenders came right over if you stood by the bar. There is plenty of seating inside and outside; it cooled off due to some rain so we sat outside in a covered area. Overall it was a nice experience. If you like a bar that has good food and drinks without the typical corporate restaurant atmosphere, stop by here. read more

Pizza = 5 stars Service = 1 star The fam vacationed in Port Clinton (not as sad as it might sound initially) and after reading great reviews for Bell Mell's pizza I decided to place an order for carry out. The pizza was great, very tasty crust and they made it to order. However, if you make the (evidently terribly egregious) mistake of attempting to ask a bartender about your carry out order, you will be shamed and side-eyed into oblivion. You will be ignored for a time, then they will look at you. Now, when they look at you one might take this as one of those non-verbal signals to initiate conversation, but when you open your mouth to utter words, the barmaid will then start talking to someone at the end of the bar (while weirdly maintaining eye contact with you). It was unnerving to say the least. After the barmaid finishes her conversation with the other person, serves 5 more tables that came in after you, and uses the restroom, she will then look at you again. Thinking I learned my lesson from the previous time she looked at me, I hesitated to speak, then was told she'd be with me in a minute. About 5 minutes later the second barmaid--who's back was to me the entire time--turns around and asks me what I need. I told her I was picking up a carry-out order and she says I need to go to the other end of the building, around the corner and they can help me. I said "thanks so much" but I really didn't mean it. The order was supposed to take 35 minutes to make and it ended up taking about 50 minutes. I was gone so long my wife and kids were trying to ping my phone to get my last location. I LOVE good pizza and this does not disappoint, however I am also a fan of decent service (excellent service is a myth). Get the pizza, and avoid the barmaids at all costs! read more

This place is a local joint, but like other reviewers mentioned, the employees and staff are extremely friendly and great! The second time was just as bad as the first. We discovered that if you are not a "regular" in this place, don't expect good service at the bar. We were treated like the invisible men after sitting at the bar directly across from the register. The two bartenders (I think they also own this place) did not give us a warm & fuzzy feeling. No smile, no banter, just "What do you need?". But, each time a "regular" sat down or stepped up to the end of the bar to order drinks, smiling and joking were the norm. The wings are very small, breaded and were not sauced properly. The pizza was very average at best. Please go and visit the Anchor Bar or Duff 's in Buffalo to learn how wings are prepped. The other option is to visit Around the Corner in Lakewood. 6.50 for 7 wings that are so small, breaded and not sauced is not worth the price. We ordered a large Pepperoni Pizza and I counted 3 pepperoni 's per slice. Seriously? The pizza crust was very boring and basic. However, the red sauce was great. I really wanted to love Bell Mell, but it was a real disappointment to the six people that I brought in for dinner tonight. Seriously, find a better source for your wings. Do NOT bread your wings. Went in with friends and we each ordered separate pizzas. When the waitress brought out our orders, I was given a sausage pizza when I really ordered a vegitarian. The waitress tried talking me into taking the one she brought out, but I told her I really wanted the vegitarian. The waitress, offering no apology, told me that if I wanted vegitarian pizza, it was going to be 45 minutes or so, because, in her words "Now there are a whole bunch orders that are in that will be ahead of yours". My reply was to just give me a refund and that I will never, ever be back due to their horrible customer service. Huge downslide since we visited last summer. No longer a "family" place, unless you want to introduce your kiddos to really colorful, really inappropriate language. We heard one patron call the bartender a douche-bag bitch. Food was fine, but one in the party who ordered pizza got their order a full 15 minutes before the rest of the meals came out. Seems like the beer selection is more limited. We remember at least one bottled beer last year that they no longer serve. read more
