Ooooo new restaurant alert!!! ... and it's good. Be Social/ Brunch Social is a new restaurant that I randomly came across via Google and it didn't disappointment. They're fairly new so that comes with small hiccups. Nothing that ruins their reputation. I ordered the corn beef hash dish that comes with a side of sweet potato hash. I liked the dish quite a bit but I really wish they had given more corn beef and remove the cinnamon from the sweet potatoes. It was too much and the sweet potatoes could've been cooked longer. I enjoyed the dish and know I will return but those are things I would point out should someone choose said dish. I am anticipating them getting their liquor license to serve drinks that pair well with the dishes. read more

Did not enjoy. Food seems premade in bulk that morning as it is served out suspiciously quickly and the quality seems like it was sitting on a heater for a while. This would all be fine if they didn't charge prices comparable to most downtown brunch spots. The menu seems very limited and offers little to no substitutions even if you have dietary restrictions. If you order a platter that typically includes sausage but don't eat meat you cannot substitute and will still be charged full price even if you don't get the meat. The espresso/latte drinks are pretty bad and demonstrate little knowledge about espresso and basic café drinks. Though they are very well priced, the low quality makes it not worth it. The servers here all seemed great. Biggest L's are food/drink quality and the food price. Biggest W is location. The ambience and decor is not really my vibe - it gives a sort of middle aged interpretation of instagram brunch joints. Prices need to be lower or the quality needs to improved substantially (i.e. food should be made to order, seasoned, and well balanced for $16+ per plate.). Will probably not come back and would recommend. Very disappointing for a local community spot . Im rooting for the team here to improve and really show how great restaurants in our community can be!! read more

Pleasantly surprised with brunch here! Food was great and so was the service. Tried the shrimp and grits - it does have a little bit of a kick to it. Also had the French toast combo and pancakes. I will begin here, I received the notification that Brunch Sociall opened via Yelp. So on Sunday, I went. Upon walking in, we greeted immediately , very positive staff. Very clean location, love the lighting and decor. Very friendly staff. Which is always a positive. The coffee was freshly made and has incredible taste. The orange juice was served chilled which you don't get often. The food was well prepared and the presentation was perfect. Decent portions. The egg whites with the chilaquiles was cooked to order. The pancake breakfast is great, three fully pancakes topped with powered sugar with eggs and sausage. Very well prepared. I am glad I received the notification about this location. Hello my Foodzies, happy Memorial Day. This morning Glenda and I had breakfast at Brunch Sociall at 6714 w Belmont Ave in Chicago. Brunch Sociall has been open since November 2023. The restaurant is clean with an upscale look, high back padded chairs with imitation marble tables. The restaurant is split into two sections, a dining section and a coffee cafe section, the cafe section has a coffee bar with a fake fireplace and cozy seating. Menus are available through a QR code or a paper menu if you ask for it. The music is all over the place, new wave, Caribbean, Spanish etc., our server was Yailene; she was pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. I had coffee and Glenda had tea, I was a little surprised to see that they don't offer a sugar substitute, so if you want or require it bring your own. Glenda's choice was a French toast combo, light fluffy French toast with eggs and turkey sausage (her choice) regular sausage and bacon is also available. The turkey sausage was a little fatty tasting for me but the French toast and egg were nice. I went with the Carne Asada and eggs with the red potatoes. The Carne was cooked nicely but heavily seasoned (the seasoning was good but to excessive) the presentation was nice on a wooden plank but my eggs lopped over the side and touched the table which I wasn't thrilled with. The carne juice spilled over the edge and made a mess on the table. The potatoes were very good except for the spattering of burnt pieces. My meal came with pancakes, they were light and fluffy. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE DUMP OF A RESTAURANT - PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE. The owners should be ashamed of themselves!!! Went here today on Halloween 10.31.2024 and MY GOD. I ordered the pancake meal and my husband got the chicken and waffles. I could laugh for real because my husband's waffles were so overcooked and dry, THEY WERE HOLLOW. Like nothing inside. Just a crunchy, hollow pile of crumbs when he stuck his fork in them. Even the waitress felt bad for us when we showed her. His chicken was old as hell and we could tell from the smell of it AND the color. How are the wings which are white meat actually dark like a chicken drum or thigh??? The blood in the chicken was all in the meat so it was that brown color you see when chicken is old and they tasted spoiled! Wings were FULL of feathers. My pancakes were basically crepes - thin, chewey and off tasting. But the EGGSSSS??? The eggs tasted and looked like expired powdered eggs. I took one bite and IMMEDIATELY spit it right back out. Like how dare you charge all this money for food and give customers old, spoiled nonsense AND powdered eggs????? We got up to leave with our plates STILL FULL and the poor waitress saw and immediately asked what was wrong with it. I calmly and softly explained the condition of the food and told her it wasn't her fault when she apologized. She looked so ashamed and embarrassed as I opened up the hollow waffle and said "yeaaaa...I'm SO sorry. I really am." Whoever the female manager is that the waitress went to talk to offered us 10% off our bill LMAOOOOOOOO and if it wasn't for the fact my husband hates confrontation, I would've told that manager to come out and speak to me and justify the $50 this awful establishment was charging for food. I also didn't want the waitress to be more uncomfortable than she already was. She saw the food. She knew it was unacceptable. We paid our bill, tipped her anyway (not much cuz to hell with this place, idc) and left. This place is trying to pretend it's something it's not with the rubber flowers, contact paper tables, discount depot uncomfortable chairs and obnoxiously loud music. Should've known when I saw the grass wall and neon sign not to even entertain the place. I will never ever in my life go back here and I pray you don't either. This is an establishment that legitimately deserves to be out of business ASAP. That meal was nothing short of a health code violation and I've got it in my mind to report them for that old @ss chicken! read more

First off, nothing was wrong with the service. The young lady was nice and professional. The issues I had with this place were small, but they add up into something less than desirable. So, the place looks nice. But that's about it. I'm not sure how functional everything is. The surface of the table was slippery, and my cup of water almost glided off the table into my lap. It's a laminate made to look like marble but its slippery. A tablecloth could solve that problem but because they chose tables that were ascetically pleasing instead of practical, they probably wouldn't do that. The chairs were rocky and loose. All it would take is for someone to flip it around and tighten the screws. The water tasted funny. I've drank tap water pretty much all my life and this tasted worse than that. It was undrinkable. We ordered juice just to have something to drink other than coffee. The food was ok. Chicken and waffles weren't really worth $20. Its 4 whole wings and a waffle. For comparison, Breakfast House's chicken and waffles is $17, and you get a breast, a wing, and a leg with your waffle. Either way, the price was fine, but the chicken tasted refried. Hear me out, I'm no stranger to refried wings and if you get your order quickly then it justifies it. But our food took a while, definitely long enough for fresh wings. The food was served on cutting boards. The syrup ran off the board and made things messy. I will say this again, everything was made to LOOK pretty but there was not a lot of thought put into how thing's function. The music was ok, the food was ok, the coffee was ok, the water was bad, the chairs and table were rocky. But I did look nice, kind of like a college girl's dorm room. read more

Had breakfast with my husband here on a Saturday morning. I had a skillet w/pancakes and he had biscuits in gravy and eggs, sausage and hash browns. Everything was delicious!! The restaurant is super cute/modern (a total vibe) and has space for private events. The staff was attentive and polite. Bathroom were super clean. It's OK. 1st noted was how loud it was - music so loud can't talk without yelling. The food was just OK. Way too much smoked paprika on everything, items not cooked to how you order them. Staff seems friendly enough - we learned it is very difficult to communicate as they don't understand or speak much english. From the start it was confusing - 1 of our party arrived before us & said "party of 4, not sure if the rest are here yet." hostess looked at my friend & said "1?" reply "No, 4, the rest may be here." A couple walked in behind my friend & the hostess pointed and said "3?" Pointing at the couple who just walked in & looked similar to my friend. My friend again said "No. it's 4 & they may be here. I'll go wait in my car." My friend turned to leave & hostess sat friend at a table. We arrive, same "hostess" approached, I said "4 & friend may be here." I was looking around to see if my friend was there. The hostess replied "3?" I realize the hostess is struggling to understand what I was saying. So I again said "4. & 1 may be here." Hostess seemed confused, started leading us to a table & I saw our friend. I said to the hostess "she is here. We are good." & went to join our friend. The hostess is pointing to a different table & saying "here". I pointed to my friend & said "this is the other person. There are 4 of us." we sat down at the table my friend had - which was set for 4. hostess came over saying "reservation?" I replied "No." & again she looked really confused and walked away. The waiter came over & asked if we wanted drinks / coffee. Not knowing what they had for beverages, I asked for menus - he pointed to QR code. I again asked for menus (service for electronics was not good & it is difficult to read on a phone). He brought back menus. Coffee was ok - Orange juice tasted decent - small glass for what is listed as large. Hot tea - they bring out an impressive container of teas - about 8-10 different types/flavors. They did come around often asking to refill coffee however never offered to refill hot water for tea or cold water. I asked what their sweet potato hash browns were - the person just smiled and walked away. The waiter came over and said "you asked something?" I said I did, he said "you ask only me. No one else." That seemed a little rude but that is when I realized that the limitations to communication weren't limited to the hostess but the entire staff. I asked about the sweet potato - he started explaining they were a different potato than the others. I said "I know what a sweet potato is, my question is what is in the potatoes" he said it's "just some seasoning". Figured I'd try it. Mistake. Food - 1 cheeseburger, 1 hangover burger, 1 french toast combo and 1 eggs and meat. Ordered the eggs scrambled well done / dry. Bacon extra crispy. Eggs slimy/runny bacon very flexible/translucent - far from crispy. Had to ask for butter and syrup for pancakes. Asked for a plate for bacon to return to kitchen for cooking - confused waiter on this. Had to explain only needed bacon cooked more & I want to eat breakfast while still hot. Waiter brought out two other meals - both burgers - again I had to ask for the plate, butter & syrup (ever try to apply ice cold butter to cold pancakes?). Tasted the sweet potato hash browns - yuck. I like sweet potatoes. & sweet potato hash browns. This was shredded sweet potato (excellent shreds) but severely undercooked and over seasoned with some weird combo of smoked paprika / who knows what & somehow were very dry. Please go to the restaurant "hash browns" & try theirs. Sooooo much better. Pancakes have a decent flavor. Bacon (after being recooked) has a decent flavor also. Burgers are served with red potatoes (no potato option offered). Well, the meat does not seem to have much seasoning however the American cheese they use was completely coated in some season - to the point where the top of the cheese was all brown/reddish in color. My other friend had to take it off because all you could taste was - you guessed it - smoked paprika. The meat itself had no flavor. The potatoes are over seasoned & salty. Bun held up well to the burger though so that is a plus. French toast combo - 4 1/2 slices of thick cut bread, 2 eggs & meat (bacon in this case). The eggs were sunny side up & came out that way so again, a plus, for me though they were way too undercooked even for sunny side up as a good majority of the top was still very clear (raw egg white) - my friend ate it though & said the French toast was good. Soups - they had broccoli soup and chicken noodle. Both were good. Chicken was very lemony. Overall this place is roughly "okay". Average price is over $20-30 a person without tax and tip. A little overpriced for all the seasoning you get with little flavor of the food itself. It's a newer place & there is room for improvement. Might try it again in a couple months to see if any improvements are made. read more

I was here this past Sunday for bunch . Our bill was over $100 which usually is not a problem if the food is good and the service is up to part. The service is horrible we never got our coffee replenished even after we asked 3 times. I understand that they are new and I wanted to give them a fair chance but they made it hard. I had a simple Denver omelette and the smell from the ham or maybe even rotten egg was overpowering, I took 3 bites (1 too many) and didn't continue eating. I would had mentioned it to the waitress but once we got our food we never saw her again. She did apologize when we went to pay our bill she said she was aware that she didn't pay us attention but she was overwhelmed which I don't know why because there was only 3 tables occupied including mine. We first entered this place and was seated immediately. It took 20 min to take the two of our orders. First drink came out wrong. Then two full tables came in ten mins after us and were seat and had feed already. My grits came out watered down, lumpy and cold. French toast just egg and cinnamon chicken just paprika and sazon. If your parents never cooks and you've been eating Burger King your whole life this is great. For me it's and hell no and a No Go. Back to the drawing board.
