Extremely disappointing from the second we walked in the door. The two girls at the front desk were rude and non communicative. Our party of six entered at 1:40pm and I gave them my name. They looked us up and down and said your appointment is at 2:00pm and walked away. We were left looking at each other and didn't know what to do. Very awkward. We finally asked to pay and our designated driver was told he could wait outside unless he paid $300MXN for a tour. A tour? This was not even an option on the price list I was sent nor advertised at their front desk. Absolutely ridiculous! This is no where noted on the policy information I was sent either. Then to make it worse the tasting options that were presented to me when I made the reservation were not available. We are red wine drinkers and of the three tasting options we were given only one option included one red with two whites. That was three wines for $650MXN. I would have walked out right then but their cancelation policy states if you cancel your appointment after the allowed 48 hours prior to the event you are charged 35%. Once we paid we were sent upstairs to an extremely hot room to wait for 15 minutes. Once our tour guide, Carlos, arrived we were directed down stairs where he never introduced himself (we had to ask his name), never asked about our wine experience, never said a word about the winery or any history. He mentioned a few sentences about the first wine, poured it and then directed us to follow him down in to the cellar. As we took the short walk he spoke briefly about the art work in the hall, stopped for a minute or two so we could see at a stainless steel tank, explained the tree in the center and architecture of the building. All of that was maybe 10 minutes. He never attempted to ask anything about us, our tastes and never asked how we liked the wine. Once in the cellar we tasted the other two wines. These tastings we very weak pours compared to every other tasting we did this week. Definitely not the standard two ounce tasting our. For the price we paid they could have been a little more substantial. The tasting and "tour" was slotted to be approximately one hour. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Herded in and out like cattle. While the grounds are beautiful the service, the staff, the tastings and the wine are extremely overpriced and over Instagrammed. I suggest seeking out the smaller boutique wineries. read more

Wow. What a beautiful vineyard and winery just a little drive south of San Diego. Immediately upon driving up, the staff were warm and welcoming, and eager to help us. To get to the restaurant, you must drive past some vineyards, and to get to the tasting room and hotels you must pass further. Regardless, it is a scenic drive through Bruma. Originally we wanted to do a wine tasting but got mixed up with the restaurant, although I can't complain because we ended up doing a tasting with food pairings. We tried three wines and their version of an espresso martini with tequila, as well as seven plates. Amongst the seven plates were: a spicy chimichurri salad (delicious, and possibly my favorite), ceviche chips, raw plate made of oysters and clam (I think?), a truffle roast and spaghetti plate, thick cut bacon and toast with sunny side up egg in a creamy garlic-y sauce (their version of a Croque Madame), a smoked pork pizza, and lastly, a strawberry shortcake. A bit pricey but worth every penny! The grounds are beautiful and expansive but the larger commercial wineries can feel so impersonal. We did a tasting tour with our group and our guide seemed like he hated his job. Give me someone who loves not just wine, but explaining the process, the history, and at least have them like other human beings. Wine was also on the pricier side for the Valle and was just OK. This winery and restaurant was gorgeous! We are in the outside garden and it was magical. What a fun gastronomical experience! I came with a group of 5 and we did the chefs brunch tasting menu. It was SO good! It was a 5 course meal and for $20 more each course comes with wine so for $80 pp (Sept 2021) it was a no brainer. Oysters, croque monseur, whitefish crudo, ceviche, breakfast pizza, steak, salad and desserts, oh my goodness. Everything was delicious, perfectly cooked, creatively seasoned. The wines were bright and perfect for brunch. This was a super long trek from Las Gaviotas but it was a fantastic culinary experience that we won't forget. I wish I stopped eating to take more photos of the food. I only got a pic of the first wine and the last dessert. Haha! read more

Beautiful location on the east side of the Valle. The Wine Garden is surrpunded by shade trees that funnel good vibes to you from every direction. The food and drinks are pricey, we're talking Bidenomics restaurant prices, but you can't compare the scenery and ambiance here to most places back home - It beats anything you can find in Temecula, hands-down. You are surrounded by vineyards, refined design elements and amazing weather (most days). It's worth experiencing at least once. The Valley had many options, but Bruma serves delicious food and great drinks. I received exceptional service on this trip and was very pleased. There is a lot to do in Valle and the options are growing all the time. I would come back to Bruma. read more

We have been wanting to come winetasting here for awhile, and finally had the chance -- reservations required, and you need to show up right on time; you get a little guided tour, then tasting. The setting and architecture of the winery itself is really stunning, and there is some very unique artwork inside, as well. Our tour guide, Heraelio, was very good, and we got to do our tasting in the cool barrel room, which was a welcome respite from the 95 degree heat outside. It was the most expensive of the 3 tastings we did in the Valle - $30 for 3 tastes (Premium), but it was worth it for the experience. We tried the '20 Ocho Blanco (a Carignan), the '20 Ocho Rose (100% Sangiovese), which were both very good, but our favorite was the Plan B - a blend of Granache, Mouvedre, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. While you're out here, definitely try to get a reservation (in advance) for Fauna or Bruma Wine Gardens, too, and enjoy some of their wine with a wonderful meal. read more

This review is for the wine garden. After trying to find a way to make a reservation for the wine tasting I gave up and booked a reservation for the wine garden on open table. I am so thankful I did. The wine garden is a hidden gem and the food is outstanding. It was honestly my favorite place in the Valle. The tomatoes and celery were super flavorful and refreshing. We also ordered roasted veggies with this Smokey chili paste that our server recommended. I am now obsessed with ugh this paste. This place and our server Melannie (who was the sweetest). We didn't eat much before we had a reso at fauna (their main restaurant) but we should have stayed here. We sat in the shade under a tree and overlooked the vineyard. Can you talk about perfect? Fauna was meh (I'm vegan and my BF is not- he loved the ceviche). The views are better in the garden. read more

Such a vibe. I'm so glad we stopped here on our way back to the states. It's a MUST!!! The food has all been amazing, the mimosas, delish! The fish pasta, chicken and waffles, scallop tostada... pristine! And let's not talk about the view... The restaurant sits under groups of trees that provide the perfect amount of shade and sun. You have options of sitting at high tops or low tables. We chose the high top since they're closer to the view on the land. The waitresses are all very kind and though I'm English speaking, some of the witnesses were able to communicate with me just fine. We didn't make a reservation, we just showed up around 12:30pm on a Monday and they were able to sit it. I highly recommend you stop here. The mirror on the container heading to the restrooms was a plus! So fun! read more

We headed to Bruma for wine tasting. They have a beautiful winery. You have to head up past the tree and man-made lake and go back downstairs. When we got there, we went in and paid, and they told us it be about a 10 minute wait before they brought us in. I think it was around $16 for the tasting, but it includes a tour of the facilities and came with 3 tastings. We def waited more then 10 min, in which larger groups came by after us, so now it felt over crowded. For the tour, we felt a bit rushed going through the different sections due to us avoiding the large crowd that came in after us. The facilities and surroundings were aesthetically pleasing to the eye and everyone enjoyed their reds. I wish we didn't feel rushed on the tour. Afterwards, you exit into a bar area. We all ordered cocktails and everyone loved the drinks there. Will need to try their restaurant next time! read more

Visited Bruma Wine Garden 4.1.2023. We discovered Fauna and Bruma Wine Garden are 2 separate dining options on the same grounds. This helps for planning next time. We had appetizers, cheese plate, and wine tasting flight. The cheese plate came up short, fruit was bruised, and no deli meats or nuts. The Sangria "Tinta" was amazing. I'd stick to a per glass serving rather than a flight. Servings were small. For 4, no more than half the bottle was used. The white chardonnay caba 2 house Wine was lovely. The service was top notch. Sitting under the olive trees on a community table was beautiful. We took advantage of having a desert drink by the fire pit near the lounge sofás facing the vineyard. It wasn't busy, this contributed to a laid back non rushed experience. Diners around us all seemed to enjoy their entrees and salads. read more

This place is weird at best. We have tried several times over seval different trips to Valle to try this place. We are always met with a locked gate. Today when we tried there once again a locked gate with a security guard. We were told a reservation was neccesary which is fine.. so we said we want a a reservation. He gave us a phone number that didnt work. And he cant make a reservation. We call the number on yelp. That doesnt work. Number on their website doesnt work. They need to get it together Update: we were able to get a reservation by having someone that works at another winery call a friend of his that happens to work here and make the reservation. The person that helped us get the reservation was also unable to get through on their posted phone number. We made a reservation and were able to check it out the next day. The winery is beautiful and worth going to. The design is pretty much breathtaking. The restaurant fauna is located at this property. Probably easier to book at fauna through open table and head next door to bruma for a reservation. We told the counter person at Bruma about our difficulties getting a reservation and she said they mostly use the whatsapp app to make appts. That wasnt posted anywhere on their website so if you dont know to do that, you will have a hard time. That said.. the place was pretty much empty on a weekend afternoon when it probably should / could have been busy. The place is beautiful, very rustic and pretty but not accessible for handicapped, my son couldn't use the bathroom, and we couldn't go try the diferente wines because they have a very steep hill covered with rocks and its not practical for anybody to clime. Food wise extremely gourmet small portions and expensive, takes the fun out of going to try different places. They want you to order 4 or 6 courses and they don't have small bites. read more

We had an excellent wine tour, followed by a 6 course gourmet meal at Bruma last night. The cellar & tasting tour was the best of 6 we did yesterday. The architecture & design of Bruma (translates to mist) is fascinating & unique. They have many barrels in the subterranean cellar which is temp/humidity controlled. A couple of private rooms if you want to reserve them are tucked away as well. The dinner experience was very special. Outdoors amongst cactus, boulders & stars. Food was all locally sourced, delicious & healthy. Service was excellent, despite a bit of a language barrier. Don't be in a hurry, it's fine dining, we sat for about 2 hours white wine sippin & enjoying the food & scene. Wonderful for sure. read more

When it comes to unique beauty Bruma takes the cake! Wine was great. Amazing service to top it off!

Bruma is a combination winery/hotel/restaurant on a beautiful, sprawling property. There seem to be several of these spread across Valle de Guadalupe, many of them brand new, built to accommodate the growing number of tourists visiting Mexican wine country from across the border. We looked into staying at Bruma, but it was booked up by the time we got around to planning our trip. It would've been nice to stay here, with so much to do without leaving the property (God it takes forever to get from place to place in Valle if you're not willing to drive drunk). We spent a full afternoon here instead, getting lunch at Fauna and hitting the wine room for a tasting. The place was gorgeous, with scenic views in every direction--mountains and vineyard greenery, miles of clean blue sky. Bruma felt like it was carved into the natural landscape, all on its own, an isolated place that just happens to be modern and artfully designed. There was an enormous dead tree at the heart of the winery, its trunk underground in the tasting area, its long grasping branches serving as statuary above ground, surrounded by a pool of water. We were encouraged to take pictures by the tree, which made for a dramatic backdrop. Lunch at Fauna was excellent (I wrote that up in a separate review), and I really enjoyed the wine tasting, which was the only actual wine tasting we did in Valle (we went to a few places with wine, but they felt more like bars with views than wineries). We were able to walk in, and after a short wait, we joined with some other American visitors and got a tour. Our guide was a friendly, knowledgeable man named Luis. He gave us the rundown on Bruma's vineyard--I guess they've only been making wines for a year--and showed us where everything happened (tanks, barrels, you know how it goes). The best part was the huge room with the dead tree. It was beautiful and kind of eerie, like I could see a murder happening here in an artsy movie. Bruma only makes a few wines, and we got to try three of them--the Chenin Blanc, the Plan B (a cabernet), and the Reserva (a blend of tempranillo, cab, and merlot). I liked all of them, but the Reserva was particularly delicious. We meant to buy some on our way out, but didn't see a place where they were selling their wine. Either they don't do retail or they do a terrible job hustling customers toward the gift shop. We had a lovely time at Bruma. I'd definitely come back on another trip, and would consider staying on the property. It seems to offer the best of Valle--great food and wine and spectacular views. read more

I've tried on several occasions to make a room reservation at this hotel. Each time I tried, this business never responded to my emails. I tried contacting them on Facebook. While I got a response, they would not resolve the booking issues by email and would only talk over the phone. Given my travel schedule, it isn't feasible to coordinate this. I find the service to be majorly lacking, especially given its high price and it being a premium property. I love visiting this area and have had nothing but great experiences with the other hotels. I thought about giving them another try. Yet, only disappointed by how they handled the situation. I rarely give 1 star reviews. But Hotel Bruma needs to figure out their hotel booking process if they're going to stay in the hospitality business. In the meantime, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I really do enjoy myself when I come and visit this winery. It's very interesting how they set up the restaurant. You feel like you're in a cave. By the way, there is a cave also on the location where they do the tastings. The outside reminds me a little bit of Provence France. The staff is extremely friendly. One thing that irritates me is the fact that many of the wineries in the valley have become a bit cocky and have been charging very high prices for their wines and for their items on the menu. So if you plan on going here, plan on spending a good amount of money. When I went there last weekend I had dinner and wine for two and it came out to $350 which is something I would be used to in New York or the real Provence or some other locations around the world, but not here....yet. read more

It's hard not to rate this place 5 stars. Modern architecture, a great tour guide, focus on sustainability, good wine. It's a massive operation with multiple facets - villas, a wine garden, a vinacola, a magical dinner spot. I think this place is definitely only going to grow over the next 5-10 years, and as the area gets more popular, be the premier spot for tourists to blow their money. Was impressed with what they have been able to accomplish thus far, and excited to see what's to come. read more

It's a must see place!! The wine is still developing but the ambience and the tasting rooms are worth what you pay for. They have a cantina that serves great fancy cocktails. We came to Fauna Restaurant and we don't regret it at all. Actually, it was a great experience! They have a menu but we decided to do the experimental menu which is an eight course meal (about 60-65 dollars a person). The food was fantastic; we tried delicious seafood, vegetables, lamb, and dessert (Look at the pictures).
