Great getaway, quiet, great food great wine very quiet very clean easy to get to beautiful place
We are on a wine tasting tour . This is one of the stops. A lovely lady serving us jams and spicy jams had pizza lunch which they made fresh here . This place is a nice stop to the end of our tour.
Dona should retire because the wines are horrible. I came from an excursion from the cruise ship. Mind you that this isn't the first time that I have gone to this winery, but this visit was even worse. In the picture that I took, they gave us four samples already prepared. The cups were filled with soot and debris which was not a pleasant surprise. Not only were we not told what the wines were, they were just awful. At least the guy playing the violin was awesome. However, that doesn't negate the awful wine. There was another bar on the north side of the "winery" where we purchased a Michelada. Now that was delicious, but that forever to make. I never want to come back here again for "wine tasting."
La Casa de Doña Lupe was a pleasant surprise during our drive through Enseneda to Tecate, Mexico on 7/18/22. It's located in the Valle de Guadalupe. Even though the area was really dry, its beauty was not lost on me. Two of three of our combined younger kids expressed a desire for pizza during our brief tour of northern Baja. I suppose they got tired of tacos. Lol. My friends knew exactly where to get such a thin-crusted, organic delight. The salad was absolutely delicious and fresh. We also had a pitcher of horchata. No sangria this time, but I have been told that it's good. Everything here is boasted as organic. I picked up mermelada de chile ($120 pesos, compré habanero fresa y jalapeño/piña), two pairs of grape cluster earrings ($300 pesos), and salsa super picante ($100 pesos, habanero y naranja). Cash or credit cards accepted. The grounds were mostly clean. Doña Lupe, who has now since passed, planted her "old vines" here with tremendous vision for fresh, natural food, wine and beer. The rustic architecture made me feel at home. The tables are mostly outdoors, so you may be wiping parts of it down yourself. There are cats roaming around, but remember they are natural predators of rodents and insects. The restrooms were well-stocked and in good working order. Ample parking. The only thing I did not appreciate was how loud the guest singer blasted his speaker.
A tourist place mostly for jams and local food. The wines for the tasting are all subpar. The service was not good. Feels like you are in a market/convenience store. Do not recommend the ambiance either. Not my place.
Came here as part of a wine tour and had an alright experience. There were some tastings as part of this tour, but not much else to do except eat and shop. It's nice that there's both an indoor and outdoor area for seating but I didn't find this place to be too special as the wine was just alright for me. The restroom was also not maintained that well.
We've been sitting here for 20 minutes and the waiters just ignore us we asked for service and they said they would be right with us, 20 minutes ago. . . Don't think well be back. Just realized the place is littered with dead flies at every window and the floor right below the window. WOW . . .
This is the other winery on our tour. We got to pick 4 nice sized wine samples. I picked a sweet red and a white, and got 2 of each . I liked the honey red better than the other white ones. They gave us a bite of pizza. Also had jams to sample with crackers. They had Spanish labels. They got me with the ones that tasted like hot chilies were in them. My mouth was burning!! Good thing there was still some wine left. Nice ride back. We both fell asleep.

There was a big line to a single wine serving "station", served samples in plastic cups(!?), no information at the tasting about the varietals or the winery. All the reds I tasted were very, very young and not ready to drink. I tried a nebbiolo, shiraz, pinot noir, and cabernet sauvignon. None had any nose at all, and only one was remotely drinkable for me. I did not try any sweet wines. The grounds are pretty, but I can't see any reason to try his winery again even on a solo visit. Maybe if you like sweet wines or whites they might have something for you. They did have live music which was nice, but other than that and the view there was nothing for me here.
Restaurant review and not the winery (even though I had a glass of Merlot and it was very good). First time back after about six or seven years - always liked the place. It's not pretentious, or wanna to be pretentious. The pizzas great. The staff is nice. What I always liked about this place is they're open I believe every day. A lot of places in Valle are shut down all or part of during the week. Tuesday afternoon looking for a place to eat we came here because we figured it would be open. The pizza was very good (better than Ochentos) the salad was delicious. Great parking Recommend
Pre-Covid review. MAY 2019 This place was amazing! A collection of food, Jams, samples and wine tasting, plus a view of the vineyards. It was great to take in but was super packed and busy busy busy! This was definitely the go to hangout for vineyards were they pretty much have something for everyone. Wine sampling was decently priced compared to the other vineyards we were able to go to before heading here, ut this one really made our day. Would definitely come back our group loved this place!
What a treasure this place is. We had a great time, the ambiance was festive and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The food was on par with some of the best restaurants in the area and the violinist was excellent. I will definitely be going back soon and recommending it to everyone
La Casa de Doña Lupe is always our first stop when we're at Valle de Guadalupe. Doña Lupe has a vast variety of liquor, artesanal jellies, salad dressings, salsas, cheeses, and more!!!! Their food is excellent- fresh and tasty. There's an outdoor and an indoor dining area. Both are comfortable sitting areas to enjoy your meal and drink; both give an espectacular view of the valley.

This was one of the two wineries that we visited on our Carnival Cruise ship that we purchased. La Casa is a very beautiful winery and had some decent wines. There is plenty of food here although I thought the value was not quite up to par: both with the wines and the food. This place is a better experience as somewhere to visit. It was a beautiful day and great atmosphere to be around. As for the quality of the wines, well it was OK. The people were very polite and friendly and this would be a nice day trip. read more
La Casa de Doña Lupe was 2nd and final stop of our cheap $40 Costco Travel wine tour...on a Sunday it's lovely outdoor space with live music a couple different eateries serving authentic Mexican cuisine, some wine tasting, a couple of masseuses offering 15 minute chair massages for only $10(highly recommend!), a shop selling artisinal crafted breads, pastries, cheeses, jams, hot sauces, art works, and more. The wines weren't the greatest, but the red port was quite delicious! Everyone seemed very friendly all around. read more

My absolute delight! this is my 5th time visiting here and I just cant get enough. Their wine, their bread, there verity of mermelaids, the spectacular view, relaxed ambiance and great service. Worth the drive every time. I absolutely love it here... Salud! read more

Hands down the best spot if you are looking for something affordable and good! I visited multiple wineries and this one was the most welcoming, affordable, I bought so many goodies to take back home. The view is fantastic! read more

$180 pesos for wine tasting in a large wine glass that you get to take home. They also have a small wine glass for $160 pesos Prices of cups vary according to wine type Don't expect a wine expert as the employees kinda just pour the wine for you they're not educating you on the wine nonetheless the experience is still great. They serve food such as pizza, salads, pastas. They sell mermeladas which are all AMAZING That's the reason we actually went back a second time. Seating is outdoors. read more

This place is a hidden gem in the valle de Guadalupe. It's less commercial than nearby LA Cello. Also, the wine and various food is very good. The Native American rituals, music, and dance is an added bonus. read more

Very nice ambience with smoke outdoor seating right next to the vines. We didn't try the wine, but had a pizza and tostadas. Honestly, none of them were any impressive, especially the pizza tasted like a frozen pizza. The little shop inside however is great. They have a vast selection on jams and dips one can try. I'd definitely recommend to buy some to bring back home. read more

Delicious homemade food, comfortable place to hang around, admire the vineyards and taje pictures. Family friendly, couple friendly, group friendly, etc. There is fresh bread made daily, great jams and salsas, beauty products and pretty decent wine. The prices are crazy affordable compared to other restaurants nearby. You will find yourself coming back EVERY TIME you're in town. E N J O Y ! read more
The best winery of all the wineries we went to on our bus tour! Larger in size with lots of outdoor seating. Their wines tasted like wines, unlike their counterparts with sweet versions of fermented grape water. Our party of seven sampled the delicious bread and cheese while tasting the Cabernet Sauvignon and House white. The bottles were very affordable and they accept US dollars. The view is great for picture taking, and they have a tasting room of jams, etc. read more

This place is a "must see" when visiting the valley. It was one of the original wineries. Doña Lupe has been there every time I've gone the last four times. She's in her 80s and she greets everybody and walks around. She is really a sweet and caring woman. The wines are not great but what is great about this place is the variety of jams/jellies that they make. They are made of some fruits you probably never have heard of and another's that I know you have. They have a very large tasting room where you can taste the wines but you could also taste all the jams. My favorite is Guava. They always have outdoor music playing live as you look over the winery and the Vineyard with picnic tables were you can eat. It is a very peaceful and wonderful place to be. read more

This place has its own twist in respect to the wine. Similar to the other spots we visited each wine has its own story The wine tasting area is rustic at best. Outside, no AC, unique "shot" type glasses to taste. Kinda bizarre as these folks maybe haven't received the same memo as all the other spots in Guadalupe Valley. Either way - have to respect the way they do business as its friendly with a smile and an occasional laugh or two. The stand out was the Honey Wine for me. Not too sweet but sweet enough - I was thinking it is similar to mead but not served warm. I think that's the last thing they would consider doing as Guadalupe Valley is in the desert. Across from the wine tasting stand (literally) are various tables with shade and booth to buy beer. Restaurant has sit down with servers to take order and deliver food. This past Sunday we were pleasantly surprised with the most cool Aztec Dance preformed by a really nice guy who introduced himself as Lobo (The Wolf). Of the countries and experiences I've seen thus far Lobo's performance was a real site to see. Hence the 4th Star. Lobo Alone would get 5 stars. However, he is not part of the establishment and performs when he "shows up". read more

We came down here with friends and had a blast. We did the tour, the tasting and then had some food. As a non-Spanish speaker the tour was ok, the barrel rooms were neat. The tasting was good and so cheap, I was a bit surprised. After the tour and tasting we went and ate that that particular area is beautiful and such a fun out doors environment. Between all of us we did beer tasting out there, ate tacos and cheese platters and I had the soy tostadas which were delightful. We saw the local rooster running around which was different (the little ones in our group got a kick out of chasing it around). It was an all around good time at a low cost. read more

Sis and I went here as part of a wine tasting tour with other members of our cruise. It was a lot of fun, very rustic. There were snacks, and of course different wines to try. There is also a little shop, and you can order sandwiches and/or get bakery products. read more
