Just like Japan. I first experience this type of pastry pick up in Yokosuka and I made sure every time I was in Japan or Okinawa to try their version of delicious baked goods. On Oahu, we use to have the shirokya market where I would get the delicacy but they have since closed. Where am I left but here. Lucky they expanded and have a couple more outlets. So now I'm able to enjoy a taste of Japan's baked goods at BRUG. The selection is good and everything is individual wrapped. Prices are labeled and some baked items have a description or what province they originated from. They do sell drinks to go with your item of choice. Either donuts, pizza, hot dogs in wrap around bread, or muffins. Overall four stars. The breads are soft and baked everyday. So pick up early because once they run out, they are done for the day.

Fun pastries. Japanese style French bakery with whimsical buns with different fillings. For holidays they have special features. Location was tricky to find using the gps. A great place to stop by on the way to work to pick up breakfast and lunch.

Much better experience this time! The staff was genuinely friendly, and service was fast and efficient. I ordered an iced matcha latte that was smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The cranberry fromage was the highlight -- soft, fluffy bread with a rich, creamy cheese filling and bursts of tart cranberry. So delicious and definitely something I'd come back for. Overall, a tasty stop with great service and great vibes.

Pillowy, plump pastries. The perfect grab-and-go snack if you want a quick bite while shopping. BRUG Bakery is a Japan based chain that has several locations in Hawaii. Out of all of their baked goods, my favorites are their sausage rolls, spinach and kale croissants, and tuna bomb. They also offer seasonal specialties that change on a regular basis. There always seems to be a small crowd of people choosing their pastries but the service is fast and efficient. Tip: Seniors get 10% off on Tuesdays!

A great place to go when craving a bakery is the Pearl Ridge Mall. You must visit them early in the morning if you want all the selection--sometimes they run out! Bad: - Sometimes they run out quickly, so you'd better be there soon! Good: - Parking will be at the Pearl Ridge Mall, so finding a spot will be no problem unless it's busy. - Delicious bakery with great staff! - They have various drink options as well. Conclusion: You cannot go wrong with this place. All their bakery selections are good choices. Remember that you may not purchase what you want if they run out.

Five stars. The food is excellent for their pastries and baked goods. The service is always top notch when checking out. The ambiance is take out, so pretty much it's straightforward grab your own stuff and check out.

This place is a tiny cafe/Japanese bakery, quick pick up and go spot-- literally, you pick your pastries from what's displayed, order coffee and check out. They have multiple locations on the island -- few in town and here at Pearlridge! We love this location a lot, close to home and their staff here are very friendly and efficient! We've tried almost all of their pastries and we've enjoyed every single one we've had so far. Pastries are legit quality and can't compare to any other bakeries we've had on the island! They run out of the better pastries by noon so the earlier you go, the better. We love their Kalbi croissant, Mochi donuts, sausage roll, chocolate croissant, Portuguese bun... and that's just to name a few! I also noticed that each location got a special pastry that they only offer. They also carry seasonal pastries! For coffee, my boyfriend loves their iced honey cinnamon latte! He goes back for seconds bc he says it's very light and smooth. Also, the espresso they used doesn't taste too bitter. Another plus for me is that they have a rewards program! It's like any other rewards system where you put in your phone number every time you purchase something and after so many points, you get $10 off! What a deal right?

Came back and redeemed the yelp offer! Also picked up the special snowman bread. Looking forward to indulging in it later. Will definitely be back!

Overall cute place, good foods from mochi donuts to sandwiches and some matcha latte's. Four stars because I wish they'd have more options for drinks that's the only thing! Other than that I wanna say the service is amazing they are friendly and so helpful. The place is well kept and you grab trays to place your orders on its self serve! It's reasonable pricing and a lot of options to choose from, right next to Tj maxx in pearlridge. Quiet place and amazing atmosphere very relaxed. I personally love the truffle croissant

Baked goods in Aiea, Oahu, Hawaii... My friend and I were walking to our car after lunch at Pearlridge Mall - Uptown, when we passed by BRUG Bakery. I told my friend that there are other locations such as Kahala, Manoa, and two at Ala Moana Center. This location is cozy, but feels more comfortable because it opens up into the hallway of the mall. She was fascinated with these Japanese pastries and got some bread and danishes. I pointed out the cute choco custard bear, but she declined. I was looking for the neko (kitty) bun, but there were none. I described the kuma bread with many little bear faces, but I couldn't find any. When I checked in on my Yelp app, there was an offer for a free pastry with $15 or more purchase... yay! I entered my phone number into the system and got loyalty points! Yippee! It sure pays off to be a loyal customer and get rewarded... especially when service is super helpful and friendly!

look inside the Christmas Tree pastry

Someone had bought me their Christmas Tree pastry from this location during the holidays. I didn't think that I would like it because it looked so overly sweet. Looks can be deceiving. It was actually delicious and not overly sweet at all. It was bread with vanilla filling on the inside. The outside was dipped in chocolate. It had red and green sprinkles on it. I wanted another one, haha The Christmas Tree was taller than my Baby Grogu. I was happy that he got his own tree.

As you walk in, grab a tray and tongs! Brug is one of my favorite treats to pick up when I'm at Pearlridge! They have so many sweet and savory options to choose from. Sometimes I like to get breakfast or a snack. Some of my favorites are the anpan, choco bear, bacon epi, portugese sausage egg bun, and sausage roll. Their moo bread is also very good! They also have monthly specials that I like to try... they're usually all really good. I wish they'd keep some of them as a regular. The owners and staff are so nice and friendly and they make you feel welcomed :)

However if you go in not starved, you will end up buying one or two baked goods and being happy with them. I tried their azuki bean bread and their coconut cream bread. The first thing I must say is that the bread is soft, not too sweet and good. The cream in the coconut bread is light, fluffy, not overly sweet and the whole thing together was a rather positive experience. I had a few words with the lady behind the counter and she said that they're super busy morning time. Of course, without zippys next door, they got all the baked goods business. I enjoyed their breads and I will definitely return. They probably have been in business for a long time, however this is my first time going and I will return for sure!

I'm not one to make or bake any snacks so places like CeCe Patisserie is the place for me as they're located in Pearl Kai which is right across from Pearlridge Center and with lots of free parking the convenience is very easy and you can find them right behind Jiffy Lube. Walking in the vibe is so festive and bright with a staff who I believe is a family friend was such a delight describing just about everything in the shop and not missing a beat it was so difficult to decide and I needed quite a bit of snacks...6 to be exact and not refrigerated so it did illuminate a few which made the choices much easier for me. After much browsing it was the tub of Chex Mix as it came in Hurricane, Ranch, Tajin or Everything Bagel seasoning. Love the various flavors and I got three of Hurricane and Everything Bagel and with multiple purchase there was a little discount that's really appreciated :) There was quite a bit of baked goods many are a bit more sensitive and wished they had more of the snacks as they do make great gifts as well but there are cupcakes, banana bread, brownies and cheesecake...so many options is incredible. It seems like they have a food truck as well making this little shop a busy spot in so many ways. Thank you!

I used their website to place an online order the day before, which was pretty user-friendly including pics of the baked goods available. I wanted to get a few pastries for myself to try and bring some poi malasadas for my volunteer group. I saw they also sold sandwiches, which I was unaware of & was happy to see they had a chicken salad sandwich that I ended up ordering. Pick-up was scheduled for 9AM. They are easy to find and located across the street from the Halawa rec center. As other yelpers have mentioned, parking can be tricky but there is ample parking. Just be sure not to park in any stalls marked reserved. When I got there, there were only 2 customers ahead of me, a man in the store, and a lady just outside the door. Apparently they limit the amount of people in the door because of how small the area is and probably same set-up from covid time. Plus if there are already people at the register, there's a sign on the door that says, "the line starts here." So even though I ordered ahead, I still had to wait to get in. They should at least have another employee help with just pick-up orders to move the line along in case customers in front of you have huge orders. After I stood there waiting, 3 more people lined up behind me. Once I got to the counter, the girl had to go in the back to get my order which was already bagged when she brought it to me. It took about 10 minutes altogether from waiting in line to leaving. She was nice and friendly and the front area was kept clean. Poi malasadas, $2 each - good sized and ono, nice & soft, not overly sweet. Blueberry scone, $3.60 - meh, on the dry side & looks like they use frozen blueberries or preserved, not worth it. Butter roll, $1.45 - meh, on the dry side even after warming it. Long john, $3.90 - ono, hands down one of the best I've had. It is a little pricier than other bakeries but it is huge. They do not skimp on the custard, filled to the max & it was tasty, not overly sweet. The only thing I didn't like was there was way too much powered sugar topping, which made the donut part too sweet. Still worth getting & way better than Zippy's. Chicken salad sandwich, $9.75 - one of the best I've had. Wasn't sure what to expect from a bakery but it was delicious & the price was very reasonable. Comes on a soft, sweet bread type roll and packed with chicken salad & lettuce. They also did not skimp on the chicken salad, which was also very flavorful. This sandwich was huge & barely fit the container it came in. I could only eat half because it was so filling. All sandwiches come with a bag of chips. Unfortunately, the website doesn't give you a choice of what you want, they just stuck a bag of fritos in the bag, which I was ok with. I would get this again. Overall, I was pleased with most of the food. Ordering online ahead of time was easy, friendly service at pick-up with a clean area, & ample free parking. I plan to come back and try some other goodies. Support local!
