I showed my text confirmation clearly dated June 12th. I was told it didn't matter. The error was made by the salon -- a new front desk employee used an outdated profile, so I never received accurate confirmation details. I have documented proof of this. Despite that, the charge was not reversed and the situation was not corrected. I also want to be honest about something I've noticed over time: concerns I raise as a Black client in Carmel tend to be handled differently than those of white clients. I'm not saying this to be inflammatory -- I'm saying it because it's my lived experience, and I think it's worth naming. I have no intention of leaving this city or this salon lightly, but I do expect to be treated with the same respect, accountability, and good faith extended to everyone else.
