Our arrival.

The event is advertised as having a fish fry. When I inquired about it, the rude host stated the dinner stopped during COVID. Since that is the case, the website should reflect NO FISH FRY being that COVID was 6 years ago. In addition, the building reecked of gas. Whereever its coming from, it needs to be addressed. I was hesitant to stay, but I didn't drive, was visiting from Atlanta, so I stayed. Although I am citing these issues, the jazz was nice.

Hidden gem. If you are looking for live jazz in NY,it is here. They show only weekend. I booked 3weeks ago. It is BYOB. I hope they serve one drink. We as a tourist, didn't have time to get it. So if we got one drink, we could have a good time more. It takes 30min by uber from Times square($70). Once you arrived, a lady tell us where we sit. We arrived last minutes so, she assigned separate seats(1in front/2 in a back). 15-20 people max. Recommend to go early for good seats. It was piano, drums and bass. Music was sooo good. They played 5,6, and asked us request song. There is alot of jazz bar in NYC. If you want an intimate, restored 19th-century Victorian brownstone in the historical district of Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, This is here! Highly recommended!!

Overall rating: 4.88 As many of you, I found this place through a tiktok/ reel. BYOB & definitely date night or friends date experience. I went at the first sitting and was so happy I chose that time because there's a line waiting out the door for the second sitting. My date and I arrive around 7:10pm for the 7:30 showing and there was one couple already seated. The tables are arranged in 4x seats so couples might get paired up if there are no seats left. There are also seats in the kitchen area but not sure how well you'll be able to view. This place is so legit, you're getting tickets at Ticketmaster. $55 pp can feel a little steep but relatively speaking compared to other shows, plus BYOB, plus knowing the money actually goes to the artists & the love of jazz. Highly, highly recommend!

What a fantastic experience! If you're hesitant, stop that right now! It's an incredibly unique experience, you get a little history and storytelling along with the incredible music played by very seasoned jazz musicians. I was recommended by a friend to come here on my first trip to NYC ever. This was a huge favorite of every recommendation I was given !

This place is an absolute gem in BK. The ambiance, the music, the hospitality, and the intimacy make this place a true treat. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and can't wait to return. It's a vibe! If you're undecided, buy the ticket and you won't regret it!

If your on the fence, just buy that ticket! Such an intimate and personal jazz session; felt like I was in an old school tiny desk for jazz heads. Suprised my girlfriend with this and she absolutely loved it! BYOB, so bring a nice bottle of wine for yourself :,)

I'd been trying to get here for some time. Tickets are limited and seem to sell out fast depending on the season. Space was a little tight but cozy. This plus the awesome musicians produced a warm feeling of community. Some of the other patrons brought wine and other libations to celebrating birthdays and other family events. I brought a cork screw for my bottle and cups were provided. I will come again.

A must-visit place for a true jazz fan. I was there to support my friend Craig Holiday Haynes and what a treat it was. Debbie, the owner and the maitre d was super on-it! Impressed by the history behind the building, the dapperly dressed gentleman that welcomed me into the Brownstone, and the immaculate bathroom!

Event was cancelled and they forgot to tell everyone. Showed up for nothing. Really lame. Will never go back there.

Nice to hear live jazz music in a close and intimate setting. Located in a brownstone which has all the original wood works.

Ask the Community - Brownstone JAZZ

Would love to visit. Any options for the food other than the-from what I have read-a small fish tapas thing?

How much does it cost now? I know someone said $90 for 2 but prices have gone up since then

My ticket was around $38 and some change.

What's the cost?

$90 for 2 tickets (including all fees)

Is it BYOB?

Yes. You can BYOB. Believe they also provide some wine as well.

Do you serve food and if so, what is the price range?

Kinda wild that I didn't write a review the last time I was in this jazz joint…read more Last time I popped into the 2am show and it blew my sox off. I saw Miki Yamanaka randomly for the 1st time. But apparently i missed writing a review. Maybe because there are many glowing reviews already. But may I put my 5 star review on the pile. This time we caught the 2pm Sunday open jam. We were smartly near the front of the line so we got my favorite spot, right on the bar rail near the stage. The drinks were good and strong, the service was quick and succinct. The jam was incredible. I didn't know all the guys but the guy on drums is a legend named muppet. He held back on his solos on the first 2 songs. On the third, when the baton was passed to him, he ripped off an impressive solo that would be amazing for anyone, and he is 93. We had to dip out to catch our flight, but cant wait to stop in again next time.

This was our last stop during our must recent NYC trip. Were only able to stay for a an hour or…read moreso, because we had to run to the airport. Still, this was enough to get a good feel of what the club is all about. Just standing in line we got to talk to a musician, who had just played at another location, but told us the people playing there that day were amazing, including the 91-year-old drummer "Muppet". We went during the day so no cover charge, but think they do at later hours. We got some spots at the bar, knowing we would not be able to stay long. From any seat you are able to enjoy the whole atmosphere and set. They had one server and one bartender, and I honestly thought at first they would be scrambling with all the drink orders but the way they worked, quickly and still being personable with each guest was impressive. The band playing was great, we stayed a bit more than we should have because of how good they were. Very intimate, chill way to spend time enjoying live music. The only reason I took one star off is the restroom situation. I went down hoping I could use the facilities but the mold smell and other strong smell made me sick and I had to run out. Just make sure you go before you are inside or hold it. Apart from that, very intimate, chill way to spend time enjoying live music.
