The staff are strict with seating arrangements to ensure everyone has a great view which is accommodating. You are allowed to BYOB. Now to the best part, the musicians. We enjoyed a hour and a half of pure bliss. The musicians were so talented and played from the heart and soul and you felt it. The music was low key to sit back and relax and then upbeat to do a little movement in your chair. lol. This is definitely a place to visit and enjoy some cool jazz in Brooklyn.

As you ascend the stairs into a well-preserved 19th century brownstone, a man will take your coat as you admire the original finishings and molding. The jazz concerts have been operating in the same room for over 16 years, and currently do so from Fri-Sunday. The owners are so passionate about jazz and Bed-Stuy. When you buy your ticket, you'll see a list of rules, like a dress code of no jeans, hoodies, or backpacks. Years ago, these tickets used to include a fish dinner, but that ended with the pandemic. Get tickets as soon as you verbally agree to plans or else they'll sell out. Only about 20 patrons can fit, so you can bring a small group or even go alone. The musicians know each other well and joke together. The bass and piano instruments are a little banged up on the wood due to year of use, but the pitch is right on target. Although classy, Brownstone Jazz isn't too uppity and unapproachable no matter your musical knowledge. The vibes are intimate, vintage, soulful, and welcoming. The emcee, one of the owners, is excited about birthdays and audience involvement, so absolutely raise your hand if you're celebrating. They have live music in the back room which is a cozy, tight space that pretty much ensures you'll make eye contact with the performers. I'm not sure if we just got lucky or if the talent is always that good but the two bands we saw were both so great in their own way. There's a great variety of genres and clientele. Finding seating in the main front area can be tough but there was plenty of seating in the music area and the back porch. This is the kind of place I want to become a regular at!

There's plenty of seating, and it feels very warm and cozy within. Ordering at the bar took a little while, but the bartender was very friendly and once I had the drinks, it was a great space to relax within. We had some of the ciders, which were a great flavor and taste. I also loved the decor behind the bar and also throughout the building. There's a yellow, comforting warmth throughout the space, something that I loved on a cold winter evening. If you want a chill space with excellent vibes and a warm atmosphere, Skinny Dennis is definitely the spot for you. I think they also have live music frequently - no one was performing while we were there, although I did notice someone beginning to set-up just as we were heading out. I highly recommend!

We were smartly near the front of the line so we got my favorite spot, right on the bar rail near the stage. The drinks were good and strong, the service was quick and succinct. The jam was incredible. I didn't know all the guys but the guy on drums is a legend named muppet. He held back on his solos on the first 2 songs. On the third, when the baton was passed to him, he ripped off an impressive solo that would be amazing for anyone, and he is 93. We had to dip out to catch our flight, but cant wait to stop in again next time.

Inner decor is really special at BAMCafe as the walls have a brick - like structure, there are decorative lighting fixrures in the windows and the overall lighting/color aesthetic is gorgeous. Recently, the BAMCafe Live Series has been quite entertaining. It is a free live music showcase featuring different types of music. BAMCafe Live has been taking place on Friday + Saturday nights at 9pm. Pleasurable does not begin to describe my experience as I have been going several weeks in a row to enjoy BAMCafe' s live music itinerary filled with great bands. Baraji is a Korean Music Group that blended the use of musical instruments and singing to give a lovely performance. Alvin Flythe and his band served the crowd with spectacular Jazz Music and Arthur Russell Concert last night was wonderful. Staff here at BAMCAFE enforce strict rules such as where you can stand etc, to ensure everyone's safety. The bar staff try their best to get you your order in a timely manner (it gets very busy w/ customers during live music nights). The happy hour is from 6 -8pm but one can get a alcoholic/ non-alcolohic beverage for the duration. I have only had a glass of juice which was $3.50. The DJ is there and plays an excellent selection of music before and after the live band performances. He keeps the party going from the beginning to the end!

When we came in, it was like stepping into a new time period. The vibes were dark, cozy, and pretty close to my imagination of what a bar in a pirate ship would be like. As the night went on, the crowd grew as they were drawn in by the live jazz band playing. The menu was extensive with so many types of interesting cocktails to select at $15 per drink. I enjoyed the Gouldian Finch (I liked it so much I ordered it again) and the Damsel in Distress.  Highly recommend if you're in the area and if you're in the mood for good drinks with great company, great staff and a great live jazz band.
