We came by for a quick breakfast and was very disappointed. The staff was not friendly or welcoming. We ordered sausage biscuit and bacon egg and cheese biscuit. The shop is sterile and not very welcoming. The biscuits were minimal and come with no sides. I guess if you were grabbing it to eat on the way to work it would be ok. This deli is close to my office and it is the perfect place for a quick stop and a home cooked meal. The restaurant is family-owned and they are super nice to all the customers. The prices are so reasonable and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Today I had the Cuban pressed hot. You get a generous serving of meat and the bread tastes like it was baked this morning. I came here for lunch on Monday, and liked it so much, I came back for lunch the very next day! Monday, I tried The Office Ham (toasted on rye), which is thin sliced baked deli ham, Swiss cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato, gourmet mustard, mayonnaise, and your choice of onion roll or rye. It was really delicious! Next time I shall ask for the melt. Today, we split The Million Dollar Round Table, The Wall Street Journal, and an order of cheese fries with bacon. All were really delicious! The Million Dollar Round Table is listed as a triple decker sandwich with ham, turkey, Swiss, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and mayo, served on pumpernickel bread. First off, it's a double decker, and even that is actually a little misleading, because the middle slice of pumpernickel only separates the lettuce, tomato, and bacon from the turkey and ham. That third slice is a little useless in my opinion, but it was still delicious. I heard someone order it without the middle slice of bread, and that's what I recommend. The pumpernickel they have is delicious, but that's just too much bread in comparison to the other ingredients. The Wall Street Journal is thin sliced roast beef, provolone, lettuce, tomato, and mild tangy BBQ sauce served on a hoagie roll. I'm not a huge fan of barbecue sauce, so this was not my favorite, yet still pretty good. Again, a little heavy on bread. The cheese fries with bacon were mediocre. The cheese is pumped out, similar to that of a gas station. In addition to the sides they can make in the kitchen, there is a potato chip rack. There are fountain drinks, as well as a drink cooler. The parking lot is tight, but there's reserved spots just for the deli. The dining area is clean, and the service is fast and friendly. Overall, it's a nice deli to get a good sandwich, at a decent price. read more

Yuck! I've had breakfast and it was remarkable better my 1st experience. The chicken philly is a no go. Maybe my expectations are to high for lunch menu. However, stale hoagie role with ingredients that barely fill the hoagie make for a dry disappointing sandwich. Small specks of peppers and onions are considered all the way, more mushrooms than chicken. My daughter ordered the chicken "l" and agrees her sandwich is lackluster as well. read more

I really liked this place. I grew up in West Texas as a kid only knowing the generosity from an owner giving kindness to their customers. My family and I came to Tampa almost a year ago, and this was the first time that gave me a sliver of home. Here....I'll take that any day! Although, the food is more over priced than a lot of other places, but the food at this place is cooked to order,...AND if you're that type that's always concerned what the Chef puts in your food....no worries, they cook their shit right in front of you. Pretty disappointed with this place. I ordered an Italian sub. Bread is nice and soft. Meat hardly covers the sandwich. Ample lettuce and tomato. Menu says black olives and sweet peppers. There are green olives and banana peppers. I wish I had known, as I hate both, and am now stuck picking them out of my sandwich and wanting for black olives and sweet peppers. Also asked for yellow mustard and got deli mustard. Didn't take too long for my sandwich, though. I had thought upon ordering that the price was decent but $1.20 for soda and $1.50 for chips are a little ridiculous for a place like this, especially considering the lack of meat on the sandwich. Who would have known this place was here??? Like Jason H. said probably only the people that work in this area. I was lucky to find it and very happy with the food. I went for breakfast and decided to keep it simple, ham and egg on a muffin. With the first bite I had butter dripping down my chin.....I'm an overall healthy eater but this first bite was heaven. I also had their chocolate cake and even though it wasn't anything special it was also very good. I couldn't find the menu online so here is the breakdown. Open only during the week for breakfast and lunch. Food options: hot and deli sandwiches, omelets, grits, burgers (including veggie burgers) pancakes, french toasts, salads and some fish options. I landed a job in the office park where BBD is. I've been there for three days and ended up eating there each day so far lol. I've had the Cuban, the Telex, and the Gyro. Cuban was solid, Telex was great (turkey, bacon, and thousand island...choice) and the gyro was good too, though definitely not made by a Grecian lol. Way too much tzatziki sauce. Chances are you'll never come here unless you work or have a meeting in this office park, but it's a solid spot. read more

I come here every once in awhile for lunch on work days. Brown bag is a pretty typical deli. They have several different hot and cold sandwiches to choose from. They also serve breakfast sandwiches. I think that their sandwiches are solid. My go to sandwiches are the Madison Avenue and the Bossy Bird because I like their roast beef and chicken salad. I like to get these sandwiches on their marbled rye bread. The thing I think is really good in here is the potato salad. I always order it when I come in. It is herby and seasoned well. Overall, Brown Bag is a pretty ok place which I will keep coming back to on my lunch breaks. read more

I work around the corner from this here. I think they have some good food here. Now being from up north, it does have few things that I love. The bacon, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel is my favorite. They also have Snapple and Herrs chips which you can't really find in Florida. The only reason I would give it three stars is because, the pricing can be quite high. Up north, when you ask for a corn beef sandwich; you will get fully loaded sandwich, jam packed with corn beef and whatever else you want on there for only $10.00. When you ask for that at Brown Bag Deli, you get half of what you expect, but you still end up paying $10.00 for it. I normally do not get lunch from here. Even the chicken tender platter is pricey and sometimes the chicken is a little over cooked. In other words, the pricing is a bit high for the portion that they give you. It makes it look as if they are being a bit stingy. Don't get me wrong, the food is great and the staff is amazing and friendly. Having a customized order is no problem when coming to the staff. I would recommend trying it at least once. Be the judge and let me know what you think about their sandwiches and price. I am from New Jersey, I can professionally make a sandwich, that is really important to me. I would love to have the owners implement some ideas find a way to make the portion sizes a little bigger to equate to the price that they charge. Pick up a menu and try to call ahead.
