I absolutely love coming to Sal's. Their sandwiches are so good. But even more the service is amazing! I really enjoy the Cuban Sandwich! And their fries are fantastic and crisp. The empanadas are also great. Go check it out.

Sal's Bodega Charcuterie, located in southwest Tampa off of Interbay makes great sandwiches with authentic Cuban sides. They also offer special hot meals that vary weekly. It's a small clean place, but they have a decent parking lot in the back. There have a small selection of groceries-more impulse than necessities-along with desserts and bottled drinks. I stopped off for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and though it was busy, ordered from the counter and received my food promptly. There were probably a dozen customers while I was there and everyone was patient as there is only one grill and prep area. Despite that, Sal kept the line moving and he and his helper got the food out pretty quickly. My Italian sub compared well to most any sandwich shop in the bay. For around $10 and 20 minutes, Sal's hits the lunch time sweet spot. Give them a try if you're in south Tampa and want a nice break from chains.

Hands down, one of the best Cubans in town! I can't say enough good things about this place. Staff treats you like family, wide variety of food, perfect atmosphere to enjoy lunch or a coffee.

This is a small convenient store that serves some amazing food. The staff is super friendly and Sal the owner is usually there. This is definitely on of the best Cuban and roast pork sandwiches in Tampa Bay.

Awesome new local Port of Tampa shop with snacks, great handmade sandwiches and local desserts. Only if there was a brewery.

His empanadas are unreal! Everything is so delicious, I believe he might have the best Cuban sandwich in town!

Forget anything you new about any Cuban sandwich you have had before. SALS HAS THE BEST CUBAN SANDWICH!!! I have been in Tampa my entire life. I was raised all up and down Armenia and if you know anything about Armenia you know there is a ton of different culture foods from the Caribbean and South America. This place is a hidden gem so not hesitate to give them your money. Everyone there is super friendly and Sal is great. Moving to South Tampa I was on the search for a Hispanic super market and even though I didn't find one that sells culantro I did stumble upon this amazing deli/bodega. For those of you who are looking for validation from someone who knows flavor this is the message of validation right here. Side note- My mother makes the best pastelillos (Puerto Rican empanadas) therefore thats the last thing I order out because I have had the best ones at home. Sals is the only place myself and my mom will ever purchase empanadas.

I absolutely love the ambiance, incredible selection, and variety of fresh, prepared, and packaged foods they offer. It's always busy -- and honestly, I've never seen an "off" time -- but that's part of the experience. I could easily spend hours wandering from room to room. One area has fresh vegetables and prepackaged dinners, another features spices tucked into a small alcove, while another is filled with wine and cheese. Then there's the main room, which houses a coffee bar, bakery and dessert counters, grocery items, a meat counter, and the deli where you can order made-to-order sandwiches and other freshly prepared foods. Everywhere you turn, there's something new and amazing to discover. This visit, I ordered the Hot Italian sub, and it was outstanding -- huge, flavorful, and packed with delicious ingredients. Every bite was fantastic. And yes, I happily ate the entire thing fresh while sitting outside on the covered patio. If you still have time before they close -- their hours are somewhat limited and closed on Sundays -- be sure to check out the kitchen store and gelato shop next door as well. They're the perfect addition to the experience and make it even harder to leave without discovering something else amazing.

I ordered the Tony Piccante, and my husband got something similar to an Italian sub ( can't remember the name). Both sandwiches were packed with flavor and made with really fresh ingredients. After a bit, we realized everyone had ordered already and we stepped up to the cash register. I ordered the PROSCIUTTO DI PAPO and my boyfriend ordered the THEE PARMESAN DON. We stood awkwardly in the way of the trash can for a while as there was zero space in the place to go to truly be out of the way of people. After about 20 minutes of standing there, a table cleared up and we very quickly rushed over to grab a seat. The cashier came out and cleaned another table but did not bother to clean ours. It seemed as though she was only willing to clean empty table. After about 40 minutes, our food was ready. It was insane to see how many orders were on their screen as the whole kitchen is visible from inside the place. The sandwiches were good, but I would absolutely recommend ordering ahead so that you don't get stuck standing there forever waiting. I also don't necessarily think the sandwiches were as good as expected. Especially for how long we had to wait.

I thought the inside decor was really cool and it was basically set up like a New York City deli. Even in the parking lot it had Knicks, jets and Giants parking lot signs. Stopped in on a Wednesday around 3 PM and wasn't very busy. TVs everywhere and looks like a good place to watch a sporting event, but I did notice they close at 9 PM. Not sure if those hours are still correct. My lunch was fantastic and I started out with a bowl of matzoh ball soup for eight dollars and then I highly recommend this huge deli sub called the Cranston Kevin. Huge sandwich for $20 and worth it and the potato salad is pretty good as well. I added a picture of the sandwich which is almost like a French dip, but it's got turkey on it as well. Our server was Lauren and she even said it's her favorite sandwich on the menu. On the other side of the restaurant, they have a huge bakery as well, but didn't grab anything but did some window shopping of all the great stuff they had in the bakery. Great lunch spot and would def come back

We asked the cashier for recommendations and he mentioned the Pork Drizzler and Billy Cheesesteak. We ordered those and a side of fries. I asked for mushrooms on the side for the cheesesteak. The service is great, two guys running the place the day we went, one was the owner. Great story on how it started. The place is very comfortable and clean. Try the South Tampa sandwich. Best Cuban you will ever get.
