I was told $115 an hr. I explained that I was moving to a 1 br apt on the 3rd floor, no elevators. I also let them know what large items I have. So a few days go ny and I heard nothimg so I reacjed out to confirm if things were scheduled and ready to go. I was told yes. The guys showed up on time and did an awesome job wrapping up all appropriate furniture, loading up, and moving on. While unloading, they did drop the couch causing one of the legs to break off. I'm very happy they immediately admitted what happened and promised to make it right. After a few attempts to get in contact with them, we found out the person who was supposed to take care of it left the company and did not inform anyone. Because of this, it took a bit longer to things settled than I would have liked, but I know that's not Brother Bears fault. Because we had not yet received a check to replace the legs, Brother Bear sent someone in person to give us cash. This was not expected and we are very satisfied. First, they went to the wrong state, then, come to find out they are not even licensed for out of state moves. They were a day late and I had to work so I gave them directions and left them. They hired 2 random strangers from Chicago to help them after I offered to get them some local help. So many things broken and missing including my washer and dryer which Cam said he unloaded himself. My family and I have used Brother Bear Moving twice in the last 3 years. We used them a month ago, paid them to pack our belongings the day before the move, then to move us the following day. It rained on the day of our move and they left our mattress outside in the rain and not sufficiently protected. When they brought it inside and laid it on our bed frame, it was soaked all the way through. The crew lead (Jacobi) took pictures and assured us that photos would be submitted and that his supervisor said that a claim would be filed and we would be reimbursed for the damage. I hate to do this as I have used them before in the past with good service, unfortunately this last round was a tragedy. They were to move my belongings from Argyle Texas to Minocqua Wisconsin. First, they went to the wrong state and arrived a day late. They hired two random people from Chicago even after I offered to get them some local help. When they arrived on 5/2/2024, again, a day late, they literally threw my belongings everywhere leaving me a narrow pathway to walk through the house. So many items were broken and damaged. My washer and dryer, that Cam said he unloaded himself somehow dissappeared along with a variety of other items. The worst part is that they "forgot" to load an antique armoire onto the truck. This was our second time using brother bear! This time in Dallas. They helped us move our daughter from east of Dallas to west of Fort Worth. Kyle and Callum arrived on time and met with us to review the apartment items. They then organized themselves and began wrapping and protecting all her large furniture they were meticulous in selecting how to load the items so they would be secure in the truck and constantly communicated with us on any questions or recommendations. We did not have to worry or work on any part of it as they were very efficient and careful to protect items we deemed fragile. They also took the time to meet our dog and make friends so Gracie would be at ease with their coming in and out. 1. They don't want to pay for my damaged appliances and 2. don't want to refund my overpayments. Here are the details. We decided to use this moving company since my wife is pregnant and unable to help me lift heavy items. On the day of the move, everything started well, however while the guys move my appliances (Fridge and Washer) were damaged. The movers even acknowledged and took the damage picture and told us to call and make a damage claim. After 3 weeks of going back and forth with this company. They told us they can't do anything about the damaged appliance and the contract doesn't cover the damages. This company claims they have insurance for any damage but I doubt this is true. Regarding the overpayments, the amount was around $800 for my moving and the movers told us if we pay with Zelle there is no credit card transaction fee of $40 so my wife tried to pay with Zelle and there was an error within the app and we tried again. Same results. Then we decided just pay with a credit card including the additional transaction fee which was successful. A couple of days later, we noticed that both of the Zelle payments also went through. We contacted Brother Bear's moving company multiple times and told them about these overpayments. After calling them for 4 days, they said they only see one of the Zelle payments, not both. Even though my bank (Chase) told us that they can see both payments went through to Brother Bears' account (they also have a Chase account). I have proof of all the payments and they don't want to acknowledge it. No one knows where that money went, which is crazy and suspicious. They don't want to refund our hard earn money. In short, hiring Brother Bear was the best decision I've made! I will never not hire them for a move again! Here's my full review if you care to read it: We had never hired movers before but I got several quotes before going with Brother Bear! We got the referral from my boss, and they loved Brother Bear so I knew it was a good choice! After talking to Ryan, I felt so comfortable and at ease with hiring them! We booked right before Christmas and Ryan texted to confirm the day before the move in mid-January. Our guys called 30 minutes before they arrived and they showed up in the promised window! Because we had never hired movers before, I didn't exactly know what to expect but I was definitely nervous! We don't have a lot of expensive furniture, but we are definitely good stewards of our things and want others to care for it too! They wrapped everything meticulously and they were honestly more gentle with our furniture than I am sometimes! We even had them move things we intended to move ourselves because I trusted them so much. All that said, they took SO much of the stress out of moving. I had booked Brother Bear Moving about a week before my move, received booking details, and paid my deposit. The morning before the move, I received a text to confirm the move. Just shortly after 5 PM same day, I received an email stating my move was canceled when I had not done so. The day of the move, I called right as they opened and was told that my move was canceled by the system and they didn't know why. I also had to call back because someone who was helping me had to ask his manager but didn't call me back. No accommodations were made, and was told they couldn't make any promises to move out of my apartment. I ended up going with another company and called back to try and get my refund on the deposit. Still haven't received a refund even when I called yesterday. Moving can be a stressful event in of itself, and this company made it worse.
