I experienced some disappointing customer service at Nordstrom Rack while I was shopping this week…read more I shopped for a while and found some winners. I went to wait in line to purchase the items and was hoping to find a different size in a pair of shoes I liked. The person ringing me up, Hugo, looked up the shoes and said they had my size available. He called for someone to go find them and said to wait at the register. He had already rang me up for the sweaters but hadn't charged me yet. I waited for about 5 minutes and then offered to pay for the sweaters so he could continue helping other customers (it was very busy and the line was long). I paid for my items and waited off to the side. I waited another 5 minutes or so and Hugo came over to let me know they couldn't find the size I was looking for even though it showed it was available in their system. I was bummed, but I understood and appreciated them taking the time to look. I told him I'd still be interested in purchasing the size I originally found. He told me I would need to wait in line again to make my purchase. I was very caught off guard. At that point I wasn't going to wait in the long line I had already waited in and waited off to the side thinking I was doing Hugo and the other customers a favor. Super disappointing and time wasted.

What really stood out to me was the sheer variety of brands they're carrying right now--it feels like they've significantly expanded the selection. I managed to score a cool pair of Levi's on sale, so the deals are definitely there if you look for them. The service was also decent; I found the staff helpful and efficient, which isn't always a guarantee in a big department store. Overall, it's a great anchor for downtown and definitely worth a stop if you haven't been in since the refresh.

Stuff ordered usually comes before time, well packed and fresh stock delivered, invariably. Also this store is closer to home, making returns easier too. Even otherwise the "Return" experience is quite simple, as if just at a click of a button, staff processing away the rest efficiently. Good experience overall so far. Well recommended!

When I'm entertaining the following morning and remember at 9pm that I am out of coffee, Target is there for me to drive on up until 11pm. Target recently introduced their delivery service which I'm extremely tempted to sign up for! The service is only $50.00 annually for students, or $100.00 annually for non-students. Is $50.00 a year worth saving the 20-minute drive multiple times a week? YES!!!

So here's what happened…read more I drove to Marshall's, didn't find anything, walked next door to Target, and found a bunch of stuff. When I tried to walk my cart full of things back to my car, which was parked in the same parking lot two businesses down at Marshall's, the most California thing that has ever happened to me in my life happened. The shopping cart wheels locked. The cart became impossible to push. I was now trapped in a high theft parking lot with a nonfunctioning cart full of groceries. To make matters worse, I hadn't bagged my items, because I figured I would just bring my reusable bags out to my car when I got home. Since I had too many items to carry, I could not have abandoned the cart without getting some of my items stolen. It took me a minute to figure out that I could either push the cart a few feet at a time by popping up the front wheels, or drag the cart from the front while lifting the front wheels. This was also tricky because if you lift it too much, the other two wheels will also lock. So, due to Target's policy (which was created to be cruel to homeless people), I was now forced to ghetto drag my cart full of purchased items. Like...wtf Target, you can't even set the limit to the same damn parking lot? This was humiliating and I'll be contacting corporate directly whether or not they respond to this review.
