Twice this week I was in a short line and a issue with the customers phone coupon and even though three people ended up working on the issue they didn't seem to have a clue how to resolve the problem. The second time was a weather related problem with the thank you card discounts. There is a gentleman named Henry that I have watched for a couple of years and he should be the manager of this store. His energy level and his intellect make him stand out. I've seen him be thoughtful and helpful for seniors and I can't imagine him letting a checkout line being stopped dead over a coupon or 5% discount. If senior management would read these reviews Henry and the customers would benefit! Thanks for your time and effort! George T Tatom

Constant refill of sweet tea was a tip enhancer! Good selection of food... ok, not great. Tried the fish bites and the chicken sandwich - Both were a little to heavily breaded and fried a bit long for me but tasted ok. Excellent fries. The crowd of 9 all seemed good with what they ordered. Definitely will return ... a few other items on the menu seem worth trying.

It's about 15 miles from Cedar Creek Lake & actually closer to Purtis Creek Lake State Park. So, if a Yelper is looking for it under The "Phalba Store" name, here's my updated review for it. Hubby & I headed out to see a good friend's new house & we were looking forward to grabbing a delicious Cheeseburger & Crinkle Fries at The Phalba Store. Man, this has to be one of the BEST Cheeseburgers I've ever eaten! I'm a sucker for Crinkle Fries, too. The store is so clean and welcoming. It's decorated with red booths and chairs, antique farming equipment & tools , old fishing rods & lures, old Barlow & Case Pocket Knives with Old Gunsmoke TV Shows playing on the Huge Flat Screen. There's also an old 70's Pin Ball Machine in the corner. I like it! The store carries minimal groceries, Bread, Mustard, Mayo., Pickles, Chips, Cookies, Candy, Paper Towels, TP, Cleaning Supplies, Cold Drinks, Ice, Tylenol, Advil...etc. It's all fresh and the store only carries @ 5-10 loaves Bread, packages of Cookies, & Bags of Chips, at a time. That way the food stays fresh. The Phalba Store also sells Local Seasonal Vegetables......cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, squash, purple hull peas, blackeyed peas, etc., all very reasonably priced. The Shinning Star to me is their Cheeseburger & Crinkle Fries! I hope The Phalba Store will continue to stay open for many years to come. It's a great little Stop if you're ever out that way. Super nice folks!
