While the customer service has been in decline for quite a while this week hit a new low. It appears that the checkers and managers need to be trained in handling problems at check out. Twice this week I was in a short line and a issue with the customers phone coupon and even though three people ended up working on the issue they didn't seem to have a clue how to resolve the problem. The second time was a weather related problem with the thank you card discounts. There is a gentleman named Henry that I have watched for a couple of years and he should be the manager of this store. His energy level and his intellect make him stand out. I've seen him be thoughtful and helpful for seniors and I can't imagine him letting a checkout line being stopped dead over a coupon or 5% discount. This is an excellent store! I moved down here in june 2025 and was so happy to see a Brookshires! I know the Butcher from way back and the meat bar is excellent! It is super clean (as expected) and the managers are super hands on and the employees are very friendly and helpful. (I quit drinking the walmart kool-aid post corona) so happy to have a better choice. Keep up the good work staff! read more

Once again, there are not shopping carts inside the store. Who wants to go outside in the heat to get a black shopping cart. The space where the carts are supposed to be has watermelon & cases of water They do not care. I asked them in customer service a few minutes ago about the carts. They did not respond. I hate this brookshire's! i've never had such a bad experience at a god dang grocery store! i'm just trying to get my groceries for the week, and these gosh darn teenagers you hire don't do their job. hell nobody does. i had nobody to walk me out to my car in the hot blazing sun. i mean i about done fainted in the parking lot, considering your prices are outrageous id atleast expect some sort of help. Then on one occasion i had slipped on the front entry right out the door! and nobody helped me, this one employee just stared at me like I'M the stupid one . saw a cock roach on the chips. i'm just about sick and tired of this. please fix this nonsense. read more

Long lines every day of the week due to only having one checker. Customers were asking Checker where is your Manager. She said she had no idea where anyone was. No one was around to unload Groceries in my car. I can get this level of service going to Walmart and probably would save money. Going to check out Mabank location even though it's a lot further from my home. Customers were refusing to use self checkout even when they had only 3 items. I also refuse to checkout my own groceries. I am not an employee and I am paying higher prices to have benefit of having someone help with taking groceries to car and unloading groceries. read more

Well like the other stores self checkout becoming a big hassle, not a fan, now the prices here are borderline price gouging, the meat is extremely high compared to other stores, they do have more in stock but be ready to pay, store was not very clean, including parking lot and bathrooms, hard to find help here as well, they have eliminated all items with low profit margins and the ones they have are unreasonable, wish we had other choices then (Wal-Mart & Brokeshires) to keep some sort of competitive pricing, wish we had an HEB here.... read more

These employees at this store are rude! I have been shopping there for years, but I think at this point I will make the long drive to go somewhere else. The employees that "guard" the self checkout are especially rude and unhelpful. Tonight, I asked one a question and she couldn't be bothered to answer. They don't offer assistance, they don't reach out to customers that are having issues...they just stand there and stare at you. The Brookshires in Mabank has employees that are more personable....I have even had them come up to me at the self checkout and remind me that I did not take my discount (senior). I refuse to pay premium prices for groceries in a store that has such rude employees. Even at the regular checkout lines, they will barely speak to you. I've been around awhile and I refuse to shop somewhere where most of the employees are rude and unhelpful. I watched a girl walk back into the store tonight after delivering groceries to a car and she walked by 4 carts that should have been easily wheeled back into the store...she walked right by them. Management needs to step up their game and do a bit more training. The atmosphere of an establishment starts at the top down and Brookshires, you are not doing a great job training your employees. I own my own business and would fire employees that have attitudes like the employees in this store. read more

This is a pretty good store however they frequently use deceptive add ad s like the one currently being run in T- Bone steaks. They are in fact a New York strip with the large home included in the weight! The tenderloin side ranges from very small to nonexistent! I sorted thru a dozen steaks to insure that I wasn't missing a good steak in there somewhere. The poor quality of these steaks was accented by the porterhouse adjacent to these. I'm sure that someone not noticing the price delta through that these were on sale. I should add that this is a common practice at this store! read more

I've lived in East Texas for 2 & 1/2 years, but this was actually my first time to set foot inside a Brookshires, so I went all out in exploring it. It's similar to Albertsons, in inventory and in price comparisons. But I thought they had a good variety of grocery items, as well as a pharmacy. I would shop here again! read more
