Poor customer service? This review is not about the technicians who visit your home--they have always been professional. My issue is with scheduling and customer support. My home was scheduled for service during a heavy storm, and the technician confirmed he could not spray due to the rain. He only de-webbed the exterior before leaving. Shortly after, I received a notice stating the full service was completed. I immediately checked my cameras and contacted customer service, explaining that the service was not performed and requesting a refund. I was told a refund was not possible because the job was "completed," despite my evidence. I was then told I could only receive a refund if I re-enrolled in services or accepted a discount. Both were unacceptable. When I asked for a supervisor or owner contact, I was repeatedly denied. After going in circles, I finally agreed to send someone out to finish the job--but calling it "free" when I had already been charged is a lie. well, I had a good experience with their technician however, I am disappointed in customer accommodations. The young man said they would need to come out to spray sooner rather than later, which I understood and it's no charge to me so I've been told I'm a little concerned based on the other reviews and their timeframe is 4:52 PM. I asked if they narrow it down they said the best they could do is give me an hour call ahead. I'm not too happy with that. I do have a contract with them and I'm a little concerned. Despite having a "No Soliciting" sign, these guys are relentless. After first heavily knocking on our front door while I was away, the gentleman saw me drive into the driveway and proceeded to get out of the Tesla they were stalking from and walked up my driveway towards the garage around the back of the house to try to talk to me. After just trying to come home after a day at work, this ambushing from a door to door sales person is very unwelcome. The gentleman continued trying to spew his sales pitch as I closed the gate and told him we were not interested and to please leave. Finally, he relented as I walked away towards the house. He and his partner then proceeded to leave their Tesla parked in front of the house while they attempted to shill their snake oil elsewhere. I hired this company to do a monthly spray of my yards, I have three houses all next-door to each other, the flea and tick issue has not been resolved in the months that I have paid them. So I started watching them when they came to the property and making sure I was home, I caught them a couple times, pulling up in front of my house not even getting out of their truck then leaving. Today the technician pulled up in front of my house and literally was back in his truck after nine minutes. When I called the office to complain, they blamed my backyard not being sprayed because I wasn't home.... Sweetheart, I was home watching your guy. Leave after nine minutes of doing nothing. I canceled my services to which they informed me that they would not reimburse me for this spray visit today.... But you didn't do the job. So I gave them the option to come back out to my property and actually spray the yards, they told me they would only come out and spray my yards if I reinstated my service. So let me get this straight. You want me to pay you for the entire month of January for a job you did not do? I think it's fair that if you're gonna charge me for January then come and spray my yards. But no, that's not how these people do business they will take your money and if they think you're not home, you will not get your yard sprayed but they will bill you anyway. I attempted to cancel my elderly mother's service, only to be told by a representative named Joe that it was "not possible." How is it acceptable for a company to refuse cancellation, especially when dealing with an 82-year-old customer? To make matters worse, a technician named Charlie showed up at her house at 7:30 PM on a Friday night, unannounced. He was rude and disrespectful to my mother, leaving her feeling unsafe in her own home. That's completely unacceptable. After reading other reviews, it seems this company has a disturbing pattern of taking advantage of seniors. It's shameful. I'm not done. I will fight until this account is canceled. I've only received service for the front of my house when I call and told them that their employee was drinking my beer they admitted to had fired him for that. I signed up for this service after being told by the agent that I could cancel once I fulfilled the initial $251 discount--no mention whatsoever of a 2-year contract. Today, when I called to cancel, I was suddenly told I was locked into a 24-month agreement. You get hooked into a renewing contract. You can't cancel until they are done or they threaten to send you to collections. You have to call after the last service and if you don't call in time you get renewed. They won't let you cancel it from renewing. They should be called Crooks Pest Cotrol. Stated "I'm just doing my job maybe you need to keep an open mind". I signed up with the young kid doing the pest control pitch a few months ago, my wife and I moved into our new home in sac and there was a lot of spiders that had made our yard their home and some common house ants emerged in the spring. They put me under contract and told me they would come and spray 3ft up, 3ft out around the whole house, would do the inside edges of the house, de web and put down granulate. This would all cost me $120 per month. After 3 months of service I happened to watch the gentleman who came buy do the "service" on my home on the cameras I have installed on all corners of my house (thank you Vivint) I watched this guy spend a total of 2 minutes from the time he got out of the truck to the time he got back in the truck at my house spraying chemicals half hazard around the house. I then received the bill for 120 with the surfaces treated claim: Exterior Eaves Perimeter Exterior Foundations I then went back and checked the footage for all previous service and you guessed it! They didn't do even 2 of the "services" promised on any but the very first visit. I was FURIOUS. I called brooks and a young man answered, I said I would not be paying them for the invoices amount of $120 as they did not perform the service. He said this was a "breach of contract" on my part.... YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!!!! He offered to send another technician out for a "complimentary service" and I said no I don't want anyone from their company at my house again as all trust is now gone. He said he said I needed to pay 300 and some odd dollars to cancel and I told him the way I see it they are the ones that voided the contract and he can bill me but I will not be paying them another dime... A few months later I get a call from another young man trying to collect on the 300+ dollars and I explained the full situation and how I would not be paying them as they are the ones who voided the contract and did not uphold their promise. This phone call was very calm and the young man said "it sounds like we aren't going to get anywhere" I asked for a manager as I have made it clear I don't want to do ANY business with this company anymore and the young man said "I don't have anyone to transfer you to, and if I did they won't do anything". I said I'm not paying them another dime and we hung up the call. I just received a letter in the mail from brooks saying they will be sending my bill to collections... After the 18 months were up I requested to cancel per the terms of the contract. They said that the agreement was for 12 services and because I had missed one of the services I needed to do one more to be able to cancel without a $205 fee. I explained to them the contract clearly stated this was based on time not the amount of services. They canceled my contract but charged a cancellation fee. I disputed the fee with my bank and they charged it back to them. Then I recently noticed that for the last two months they continued charging my credit card $35 per month even though my contract was cancelled. I called them back and was told that was a "change back fee" due to be disputing the original cancellation fee. I'm pretty sure that's illegal. They no longer have authorization to continue running my credit card. My contract is cancelled. In addition, their contract says nothing about charge back fees. Complete BS. Buyer beware. Hands down the worst pest control experience. I contracted Brooks to remove spiderwebs and spray for ants and spiders. The technician said he performed the work yet he didn't remove any spiderwebs. It's really easy to tell if spiderwebs have been removed or not. I sent a plethora of pictures of active spiderwebs with spiders throughout my property including in and around my front door which one would assume would be the first place they would thoroughly clean.
