Really disappointed in our recent purchase here. HUGE lack of attention to detail. My fiancé ordered a brand new tuxedo a month ago and after 3 weeks of sending it away for tailoring, it came back with a weird bump in the shoulders, bunching in the back AND unfinished cuffs!!! For an almost $2,000 tuxedo, this is absolutely not acceptable. I even went in myself to switch out his tux shirt (which they measured him for the wrong size) yesterday and I found the service rep (Larry) to be very rude because there was no tag on the shirt we were exchanging (he was given it that way) - so after waiting awhile they finally looked it up under his name but gave me a lot of grief about it. But that customer service aside, the rep helping him Gerald, has been very nice and considerate, but in hindsight seems to have only cared about making a sale and not making sure he has the perfect tuxedo (as should be expected for Brooks Brothers). Since we flew out to VA from LA today, we are now going to have to pay a premium for last minute alterations since the store didn't do their job - I mean look at the cuffs! They didn't even bother to tailor one side, fix the buttons and wipe away the chalk (see photo). Completely unacceptable for the price of the tux in the first place, not to mention causing a lot of unnecessary stress on my fiancé to make sure it still looks good in time. I would hope someone from the store reads this and hopes to do right by him by compensating for the price we have to pay now and offering at least some sort of refund for the poor tailoring job in the first place. read more

The store is like Abercrombie & Fitch, except maybe ten years older and working at a desk instead of wearing flip flops with jeans at an East Coast college campus and calling everyone "bro". Brooks Brothers completely outfits the conservative, mature gentleman in everything from casual tennis duds to formal dinner suits (I didn't notice any tuxedos, though), with professional officewear, everywhere, accessories such as cufflinks and tie-pins lining the aisles like Hansel's pebbles in the forest. Casual Friday or Perpetual Suit-n-Tie-Day, Brooks Brothers has you covered in yacht club, "you ruffians aren't welcome here" style. The prices aren't particularly high even though the neighborhood is glitzy. You can get lots of different things under $100. Park in the nearby structure for free, or use the reasonably priced, even nearer-by pay-as-you-stay lot ($2 every 15 minutes, cheaper still if you catch a meter). Service is polite but not over-the-top "I'm going to help the Hell out of you" friendly, either. The store is nicely decorated, like hanging out at a lawyer's house after his closet exploded. The associates will even box your purchases as presentable gifts (with cards!) as a complimentary part of the service, which is a definite plus. My bf's suit had arrived so he needed to go in for a fitting/alteration. His normal go to guy at Brooks Brothers was on vacation so he made an appointment with Nancy. When we got there, it took a while for Nancy to come and help us and when she did, she seemed so preoccupied. She didn't look at my bf's file to see what alterations were needed and she didn't even bring him shoes for the alteration. When the fitting was completed, she ended up paging some other guy over and ran off to help other people. I didn't expect this kind of awful service from a store in Beverly Hills. I got my last suit at the other Los Angeles Brooks Brothers location, the one in the Century City Mall. When it came time to upgrade my suit, I decided to give this location a try. I was not disappointed. The BH location is a much better and bigger store than the one in the Century City Mall. The two-level Beverly Hills Brooks Brothers on Rodeo Drive is an absolutely beautiful store. It is very nicely decorated, its service impeccable, and just has a lot of class. The employees working here are not kids trying to sell suits, but very knowledgeable, classy, polite, and well-dressed clothing wardrobe professionals who can take your measurements and tell you exactly what coat, shirt, etc. size you are. They are very attentive (without overdoing it) and take really good care of you from start to finish in recommending exactly what shirt works with what kind of suit, what cuff links to buy, what tie works with what shirt, etc... Probably one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a while. Yes, their stuff is more expensive than what you might find elsewhere, but the quality of everything they sell is outstanding. Everything you try on here just fits you absolutely perfectly, and makes you look sharper. When you want to invest in the best suits, etc., for the long-term, Brooks Brothers is the place. When you are done shopping, they wrap everything for you very nicely, and even give you tie envelopes to protect your ties for your trip home. Bottom line: very highly recommended. Tip: they also have some really good sales and promotions which can save you a lot of money. Keep an eye out. One more thing that score mega points with me: They told me that my suit would be ready (after alterations and tailoring) in a couple of weeks. I needed my suit to wear to someone's wedding a week later. I told them this, and my wardrobe consultant called the in-house tailor, and asked if my alterations could be sped up. I've been shopping here ever since they opened on Rodeo. Over the years as staff came and went they managed to have the highest standards. I really don't know what's happened the past couple of years. It seems like management does not care. The store looks a mess. They don't stock enough merchandise in normal sizes. The staff look exhausted and tired as does the store. I went in the other day and couldn't believe how busy they were and yet only one manager on duty. She was so nice and apologized the store manager was off but clearly she was overworked. They used to have a great selection of Black Fleece designed by Thom Browne that I absolutely loved. Not only has it been discontinued, but that entire space is empty. Who knew Brooks Brothers was so rich they could afford paying rent on Rodeo Drive and not utilizing it. What's going on? Where's the store manager? Why isn't he/she doing their job? I managed to find a few items that fit and the salesperson offered to order my size in several other items. I guess they've become a catalog field office despite closing down their wonderful Century City store. I hope they get back on track but it may be too late. read more

Long time customer...probably worst service I've experienced at a Brooks Brothers. First, no one was around to help us. When we finally got someone's attention, he directed to another person for no reason. Second, we asked to try on the shirts, and for some reason, he said you don't need to try them all on, because they all will fit the same...but I guess he doesn't know about color and skin tone. If I'm spending this much for a shirt, I want decent customer service... When I lived in Boston, the woman who lived in the apartment below me was a hooker. All year long this woman--we'll call her Marge-- would look forward to the Brooks Brothers event at Filene's Basement: Hundreds of the city's most eligible bachelors converging upon the landmark bargain basement in search of a handsome three-button suit at seventy-five percent below retail. During each day of the sale, Marge would park herself strategically between the camel's hair dress coats and the check-out line and wait patiently. By the end of the week, with the sale over and nary a 40-tall to be found, Marge had earned enough to pay her rent for the rest of the year. Filene's Basement closed its original store earlier this year, much to the dismay of hookers and businessmen alike. Brooks Brothers still remains, however, and those who want to purchase their classic (albeit stuffy and boring and borderline-dorky) clothing must go directly to their retail stores. Having never dated a man with the kind of taste or job conducive to this type of clothing, I had not been in a Brooks Brothers since I was ten years old, when my mother took me there to buy a bottle of aftershave for my grandfather. Recently, however, on a trip to Los Angeles, I found myself on Rodeo Drive with a full bladder and smack dab in front of Brooks Brothers. We *SO* want to come back and Pretty Woman this place! My husband and I came through yesterday to buy him a few shirts. Whenever his father visits the US, we always go to a Brooks Brothers (usually in Manhattan) and get new clothes for them. This was our first time at this location. All of the sales associates breezed past us without so much as a nod or smile, let alone a "May I help you?" I understand that there are a lot of tourists that come in here and probably just wander around without buying, but we were standing there holding shirts ready to go. My husband finally stopped someone and asked for some help in sizing. The gentleman told us he'd be right back. We waited... and waited... and 12 minutes later, we left. On the way out, we saw him instead helping a guy - think James Spader in Pretty in Pink - with a sweater draped perfectly over his shoulders. I pointed and said, "Look! He's helping the fancy man instead because your money isn't good enough!" Then I may have also shouted - "WE'RE GOING TO PRETTY WOMAN YOU GUYS." (Sorry, I'm from Jersey.) We tried one more time. I grabbed an associate that was standing around with his hands behind his back, and all of his answers to my questions were, "no." After 6 or 7 "no"s, we left for good. Anyway, it was a real bummer. I have been a loyal BB customer for my entire career but after my experience today we are through! I always get the same size shirt (slim fit) and they are usually perfect. For some reason one shirt I ordered via mail was waaay too big. I tried to wear it a few times but it sat in the back of my closet for the most part. I work next to a BB and decided to walk in and inquire about an exchange (I wore the shirt that day so I could show them how big it was). I was cheerfully greeted right when I walked in the door. But wow, when they realized I was not there to make a new purchase it sure took the wind out of their sails. Was told I needed my receipt, no returns after 90 days, etc. Shut. Down. It wasn't super busy on a Saturday afternoon, and most of the staff were engaged with customers, but they checked in on me in good time and were very helpful accommodating my questions and requests. Brooks has several different "fits" which I have a hard time keeping track of. I'm glad I came in to try them on in person. I bought a suit on sale and was very happy with it. I should start this review by saying that my dad has been a customer of Brooks Brothers since he was 25 years old, and now I (20 years old) am a new customer as well. It all started when I visited the Downtown LA store where a saleswoman showed me an OBVIOUSLY BLUE "Navy" blazer online. They said the Rodeo Drive store had it in stock, so my dad and I decided to drive over there (30 miles from our home) to purchase it. When we got there, we were absolutely stunned at the level of disrespect shown to us by JEFF, who works in the suiting department. After waiting nearly 10 minutes, he arrives from the back room, tosses the blazer onto a table, and WALKS AWAY! My dad and I were shocked not only by his disrespect, but also the fact that the blazer looked nothing like it did online. It was clearly black--NOT NAVY. Since JEFF was missing in action, we walked up to another salesman and inquired about the color. He proceeded to argue with us about the blazer being Navy. Clearly they don't teach that "the customer is always right" at this establishment. We were pleasantly surprised when another salesman walked up to us and was actually courteous. He brought out a beautiful navy blazer, and confirmed that it was even on sale. After having it tailored and brought to the register, who else makes an appearance but JEFF! The scumbag who treated my dad and I as if we were cattle, only to reappear for the chance of making his commission. But it was for not. I like Brooks Brothers for their semi-annual sales where you can get decent, work-appropriate clothing for a semi-reasonable price. This store has the largest selection of any I have ever seen. However, it was also a miserable retail experience that I will avoid like the plague. The service here was really just terrible. I needed to get a few pairs of pants hemmed (pants with unfinished hems, bought from BB... that they then charged me for?!). I had to wait a very, very long time to have anyone get me a dressing room, then wait for the tailor. And that was just the beginning. Then it took FOREVER for someone to simply take my stupid freaking pants and my alterations ticket so I could LEAVE. People were milling about the store, apparently "busy" but not actually doing anything productive. Finally a lady came to "help" me. I say "help" because she was incompetent. They charged $9 per item to hem three pants. By her mental math, that cost $37. She had no clue how to operate the computer system and it took her a good 15 minutes to simply give me a receipt so I could leave. All added to an extremely poor grasp of the English language (which is a bit of a no-no for some in a customer service position, in my opinion). On top of that, I had a brand new shirt I needed to exchange because the stitching poorly done and there was a blemish. I ended up just taking a refund so I could get out of there. Oh and one of the pairs of pants? First wear, they tore along the seam. *Sigh*. I will be rethinking my patronage of Brooks Brothers in general, but will certainly never set foot in this terrible location again. Nothing beats Brooks Brothers when it comes to men's suits. Nothing. The tailoring is second to none and the quality is superior to just about everything in the market. This location doesn't need any further advertising as it's located right on Rodeo Dr. which is one of the fashion capitals of the world as far as trendy shopping goes. The staff is extremely courteous and professional. The decor is immaculate. You have two stories of an amazing selection of clothes on display. Another big plus is the fact that you never feel rushed or that you're being stalked around the shop as so many other places in Rodeo do. I love the fact that Brooks Brothers always seems to have some good sales going on. Which brings me back to the reason I am writing this review. The quality of these threads. BB is leading the pack for beautiful tailored suits and you can't go wrong in visiting this location and trying out a few suits. Everything was lovely until the saleswoman (we'll call her "K") accused me of being a set-stylist for a TV show. (WTF?) I practically had to beg her to ring up the merchandise. She said entertainment stylists come in all the time, buy lots of items, then return them. She side-eyed me, then accused me of being one of them. CRAZY. My WASP-y, yet young and sexy husband needed a few more sweaters for a trip back to the East Coast, so I thought I'd quickly pop in after Chanel (a few doors down) to buy a few (ok,six). Customer service at this location is horrendous. At my most recent visit, at the behest of a VIP invite coupon, I bought two shirts and four pairs of pants. Two of the pairs of pants needed the seats tailored. The promise at the time was that the tailoring would be done in one business day and the pants would be over-nighted to me. 1) Did I get to actually see the tailor? No, the store associate (who was at least friendly) chalked the pants for me. This was a yellow flag by itself, but I wrote it off as the tailor being busy at the time or away for lunch. 2) Was the tailoring done in a timely fashion? No, I have been waiting over three weeks to get a very straightforward alteration done and have had to call four times to check on two pairs of pants. 3) Did they overnight the pants to me? Not yet! I have spent easily over $3,000 at this location over the past few years, and there is no way I will spend a penny more. I wonder how much you have to spend to get treated with a modicum of respect here? The eponymous brothers of 1818 are spinning in their graves. read more

The layout of this store is fantastic. The sales staff is beyond helpful. I had a woman (Jeannie) help me buy some pants and shirts. I also bought some suits from a gentleman (Gerald). They both gave me perfect service. They answered questions, and made suggestions. It was all no pressure and low key. In fact, I can't recall better service at any store anywhere. I shop at this store frequently and have not experienced any situation that warrants a strong negative review; however, I've experienced minor inconveniences that the store is happy to resolve. My last shopping outing found me purchasing a number of shirts for men and outerwear for women. Mr. Brune, our sales concierge, not only made many trips upstairs to find the right fit for me but also called a number of stores out of area to find the right fit for my wife. The rub, however, is that the wrong size of clothing was sent to us, although Mr. Brune specifically repeated the correct size to the other store to verify no mistakes had been made in my purchase. The blame here falls on the clerk at the other store--in Tennessee, if I remember correctly. I am calling the store today and am confident my order will be adjusted. read more

Yet, this flag ship location has all the worst of Beverly Hills attitude without any of the quality or class. Extremely unhelpful service and I was once even sold a shirt with stains on it. Bought a dress, not on sale, on Thanksgiving weekend. Needed alterations and was told that they were very busy due to upcoming events and it would take three weeks to take the dress in. I decided to take the dress home as is, and called today, December 30, 2016 to ask how long the turn around would be if I would bring the dress in 12/31/2016. I was told that the dress would be ready no earlier then January 23rd because they were very busy. In the meantime I have bought a Lulu Lemon jacket which needed alterations. 2 days turn around!! $600 dress, over three weeks, $120 jacket, two days. hmm...... Were is the customer service Brooks Brothers ?? I will never ever spend any money at this store or for this brand again. very disappointing!!! Would give no star if I could read more
