I had the salmon salad and I do not like farmed or Atlantic area salmon. I prefer wild caught salmon or Alaskan area. We sat at the bar and by the way that was a good choice to sit at the bar. Jay the bartender is friendly and quick with the service! He told me that the salmon is farmed but wild in the currants. They source Verlasso salmon and it was so rich and not bland in taste at all. I highly recommend this dish for flavor. We also had the brisket potato skins and it was tender and full of flavor! Not your typical bar food at all. Very nice country club to have a drink and a bite to eat. This place has awesome views of the lake which was astonishing to see. I ordered the mimosa flight which was delicious but a weird taste. I ordered the Short Rib potato skins because I thought that would be interesting to try but it definitely didn't have flavor. It was worth the try though. After we ate we made our way outside to see the lake which was beautiful because this was my first time in Tahoe. When we were walking back, a guy came zooming in a golf cart almost running us down. They have one of the best happy hours going while they remodel the restaurant, get it while its hot. Food was surprisingly very good. One of the most desired golf courses on earth so prices are not cheap, Carmel and Vegas prices. Walked in no reservations and we were seated immediately. We had our service dog with us and they were very welcoming with him. Chicken Wings were excellent Everything else was ok nothing memorable. Service was good except took staff to long to Clear plates etc. From the table. Goulash was more of a stew and very peppery. This place does not honor reservations. I booked months ago on Open Table for a future lunch with friends all coming in from different cities and states and they now cancel, saying that they cannot honor the reservation made that far in advance that they originally accepted and even verified thru text. What an amazing view from this place! Doesn't get much better. The food and service were horrible though. Three stars on the food (I am being kind) if you ignore the massive amount of well used cooking oils dripping off everything and everyone's individual meals coming out 15 minutes apart from each other's. Take my recommendation and eat when it's delivered despite normal table side manners & etiquette. Actually eat family style that way you won't be as disappointed. Our server was from Carson City and I believe she took a trip down to her house and back a few times while we were there as she'd disappear completely for 30 minutes or more at a time...! The ambience inside is nice but again, the servers screw that up too. There was a uncleaned table with food and a server tray stacked with beer mugs and dirty glasses that sat untouched on the adjacent table the entire time we were there. I took to going to the bar for cocktail refills versus waiting for Carson City girl but the J1 servers were very quick to refill waters which was nice. Our water cups never had the chance to get more than a third of the way gone before getting filled to the brim again. All in all the scenery is nice but for such an expensive meal and coming from what has been known in the past as a high end resort. I'd have to say, I won't be back anytime soon and would not recommend it. There are much better places in Tahoe that are cheaper, way better service and food quality with an equivalent or better view. read more

Overall we had a great time. There is construction happening at the front entrance and they've blocked both ramps leading to the front door. When we valeted the car l asked how to get inside and was told to take the stairs around the side of the building. I had my 89 year old grandmother with me. It was either that or wait outside in the storm for a cart to bring us around but was warned that it might take awhile. We ended up using the stairs to get out of the rain but felt this wasn't appropriate ADA access given the weather conditions. The ambiance is really nice and the food was delicious which is what keeps us coming back when we visit South Lake. The service was slow but our server was busy and very nice so we understood it could have been a staffing issue or delays in the kitchen. The views are great regardless of the weather. Next time we bring my grandmother we'll probably go to the Bistro to avoid the construction until it's completed. read more

The cocktail was way also way too strong and tasted like pure alcohol. Maybe golfers like a stiff drink, but I assume those ordering a blueberry cocktail would like some fruit flavor. We were able to get last minute reservations when we called at 11am (when they opened) and wanted a table for 4 at 145pm. We were told the view of the golf course and the lake is the same whether you are seated inside or out. We chose to sit inside. We got there early and they sat us immediately but only 2 of the 4 seats could actually get a nice view. We ordered a couple drinks which took extremely long to get delivered. Our food took a minute to come out also. The service was just slow all around but the food was good and the views outside were worth the price of the food and drinks. It's worth it if you are NOT hungry when you arrive and are fine spending 2 hours just for lunch. If you aren't in a hurry and are not hungry, this is a cool spot to visit. read more

Oscar waited on us back in July on my husband's birthday. He was kind, efficient and more than adept. He deserved a good tip! Unfortunately, my poor math skills resulted in me leaving him a paltry tip. (And I hadn't even been drinking!) I have been trying to right my wrong, but in the meantime, I wanted to leave him this nice review. Edgewood at Tahoe is a beautiful resort and the staff we encountered were nothing short of wonderful. (We also had a great interaction with the man working the gift shop that evening.) We are not the typical high-end clientele (think Steph Curry, Travis Kelce, etc.) that a place such as Edgewood often caters to, but we would never know that. Decadence check. Luxury check. This place offers beautiful views of the lake and the mountains. It's easy to access. I took an Uber from my hotel. It was a party of 5. The servers were all very accommodating and friendly. We ordered for the table the shishito peppers, I never had it in that preparation it was spicy and sweet paired with peanuts for a nice crunch. The beef short ribs potato skins were nice and hearty, the buffalo wings had a good kick. For my entree, I ordered the cubano it was a bit more sweet than I preferred; I requested some pickled jalapeños on the side, and that woke it up. The prices are fair for the area and wonderful views that you take in. As a melenated tourist, i felt comfortable and not out of place, although we were the only ones there at this particular time.I highly recommend coming here. Great spot for a relaxing lunch in one of the best settings around the lake. Brooks' Bar is the more casual dining option located in the Edgewood Resort, so you know the views are going to be impressive. Overlooking the golf course framed with an arch of large windows and soft woods, this just might be one of the nicest 19th holes around. The lunch menu sticks with mostly traditional American fare with a few surprises, but they do make an attempt to elevate some of the flavors on offer. The short rib tacos I ordered were balanced nicely with the pickled cabbage and queso fresco and the hole in one appetizer came with a good mix of ingredients and flavors. I can't say that any of these dishes blew me away, but combined with a few well made cocktails, we ended up having a very enjoyable lunch. read more

5/5 service- we went with a larger group with half of us being kids and there was a limited menu- being a big yelper, i of course had already decided what I wanted to order and it wasn't on the limited menu. Our waitress was gracious and asked the kitchen if it would be ok for me to order the blackened tuna sandwich. I'm so glad she did because it was the best thing the table had!! It definitely needs to be on the limited menu because nothing compared to it. It was so so tasty- perfectly cooked, tender, great sauce, great bun. All around just a big winner! 3/5 food- the 3 points were mostly because the blacked tuna sandwich was amazing!!! Melt in your mouth!! It's a must order!! It needs to be on the limited menu because it would leave everyone with a great impression of the restaurant. The side salad that I got with it was decent- nothing too special just had some cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes-- needed some sort of nut and the cheese probably would have been better if it wasn't so crumbled- thicker pieces are more enjoyable. The second best was the salmon fish and chips, although I didn't really prefer the breading- it reminded me of a corn dog breading to be honest- too thick in my opinion and just overall was okay- the entire table raves about the waffle fries so those were a big hit! The biggest whomps were the taco trio and the chicken dish on the limited menu. Maybe it's because we are from Texas and really love our tacos BUT I was told they were all just over cooked and too chewy- two people at the table ordered them and neither finished them and didn't want to take the leftovers home. I was told they were a major letdown. The chicken dish I was told was okay but it was over cooked/dry. Chicken to me is always risky because it's so easy for it to be dry so I never really order it because too often it's not cooked well. Kids menu is I guess typical for a place like Lake Tahoe- I come from a place where I'm used to $6 kids menus- here it was $12-$15. $15 for the hamburger so it's definitely expensive. However the kids fruit cup was great and the kids chicken meal was a good size. We also tried the cauliflower appetizer. Couldn't tell it was cauliflower. Had a kick to it but pretty good flavors. Might as well have been chicken cuz it's so breaded, can't taste any cauliflower. Maybe they just did it for vegans ha not sure but cauliflower didn't come across. Bottom line- If you go, order the blackened tuna sandwich! It's a must!!! Be advised to avoid Brooks' Bar & Deck at Edgewood South Lake Tahoe. I have been a loyal guest of Brooks' Bar for over 10 years, always enjoying great views, delicious food, and excellent service. However, Saturday, May 25, 2025 was my first time back since its reopening sometimes in 2023/2024 under new management who claim their plan was to elevate the clubhouse, but unfortunately, the quality has declined sharply. On May 25, 2025 despite having a confirmed reservation for five at 6:15 PM, we were denied seating near outdoor heaters, even with empty tables in that section, and were instead placed in an unheated, uncomfortable area. Our server disappeared after taking our drink order, and we waited over 90 minutes for food. Other guests who arrived later were served before us. We couldn't help but wonder if our treatment had anything to do with us not speaking English at the table, something I truly hope was not the reason, but the neglect we experienced was difficult to ignore. When the food finally arrived, it was inedible. The mahi mahi tacos were burned black and drenched in sauce to hide it. The club sandwich had a long hair twisted around the lettuce. The manager, Igor, acknowledged the issues but placed all blame on the kitchen. Instead of taking responsibility, he offered weak apologies and said new food would take too long. He removed some items from the bill--three drinks, the tacos, and the sandwich--but the remaining charge was still $150, even though we only had one hamburger and a $58 bottle of wine. There was no sincere apology, no real effort to make things right, and no reasonable resolution. I was especially embarrassed because we had first-time visitors with us. To sum up our experience with this new Brooks Bar, the service, food quality, and management response were all subpar and deeply embarrassing, especially with first-time visitors in our group. This experience raises serious concerns about declining standards at Edgewood Tahoe Resort, and I cannot in good faith recommend or return to Brooks' Bar without significant improvement. read more

The location and scenery is 5 stars, obviously...it's the Edgewood. We decided to randomly hop in the car and head to the Edgewood for lunch but didn't feel like doing anything too formal so we made the reservation for Brooks Bar and Deck. The valet service is complementary and upon arrival my husband tipped the driver, we know it's customary to tip when picking up the car but hey, why not. We tipped again upon pickup and the valet made a face cause my husband handed him a 5... OK you made 10 on just this vehicle...why the face.... So weird. We make our way into the bar and it's cute and cozy. We were sat immediately at any table of our choosing so we selected one that you could look out and see the lake. Our server was OK, not very observant though. I wanted a pina colada but because it's not in season she had to learn if they had the ingredients and to my delight they did! It just wasn't blended and was really sweet. My husband and I ordered the calamari - kind of cold when it arrived to our table but delicious. He had the French dip and I had the roasted beet salad. My husband was explicit that he wanted no cheese on the sandwich, literally the meat and bun. When the dish arrived, they grilled cheese onto the roll so he had to rip off the top. The server didnt notice there was cheese on the no cheese order and definitely didnt notice that he ripped the top part of his roll off. The beet salad was good but skimpy on the orange segments. The salad was way over dressed and kind of inedible so I had to pick through drenched greens. In a way, I'm glad we didn't go all out and head to the bistro or the restaurant cause who knows what quality of dishes we would of received. Overall, it was just OK. Definitely hotel food. Service was lackluster for such an "elite" hotel. I'd give the Edgewood dining another try but I'm good at never going to Brooks Deck again. read more

Paid a lot of money for bad experience. We went to celebrate a birthday and had reservations I made 2 weeks in advanced. Drinks took forever. The appetizers were fine. Dinner was okay one of the people in our group ordered a steak with shrimp and it was cold. So we sent it back to be remade! My tacos were cold but I didn't send them back because it would have been forever as well. By the time he got his food we were all completely done. They offered him a drink to make up for it. Took forever yet again. We had some dessert since it was a bday. It was fine. Just overall a super disappointing experience and embarrassing to plan a nice dinner and have everyone be not happy. The place and decor are great. The server apologized which I thought was nice it wasn't her fault at all. The bill came and it was insanely expensive for such a bad dinner. Got detected to their accounting department where I left a few voicemails. Nothing. Then I disputed the charge with my credit card and I'm hitting a roadblock there too. It had almost no flavor, we had a party of 7 lawyers and everyone had a different dish and everyone left saying it was terrible.
