Came across this place, while in Syracuse for work, using the Yelp app. We needed to find a place for lunch and afterwards everyone thanked me for picking such a great place! I ordered a half of a giant sandwich, which is around the size of slightly larger than normal sandwich bread, piled high with meat. I got turkey and salami on wheat. It was a delicious sandwich and the bread tasted so fresh! My 4 other colleagues all really enjoyed their sandwiches, the only complaint was that they didn't have a way to toast the bread for the blt sandwich. Grew up here in Syracuse, NY and moved out to Phoenix, AZ. I have been to quite a few delis now and I can say this is still my favorite after coming back 10 years later. It's a great place and I often just order simple sandwiches which gets you the best bang for your buck here. Roast beef on dark rye, lettuce, tomato, and Russian dressing. Keep it simple and it'll be a damn good sandwich. Note: I didn't see the equipment for a good Ruben or a Cuban, so I'd suggest not ordering those. read more

This is the best sandwich in Syracuse. They give you your money's worth. It reminds me of the old Danzer's sandwiches. The service is fast and efficient and both sites have plenty of room to eat-in. I also recommend trying the soups which are home made and are often created with unique ingredients. My only warning is that a half sandwich may be plenty because a whole sandwich is a heavy meal for only one person. read more

I love eating here! Bread is always soft, rice pudding and baklava are yummy, though I find the pickles gross.. but I am not a cucumber or pickle person so you can take that opinion with a grain of salt :-) Lots of seating, staff has always been friendly, and there is often a line but it is to be expected and worth the wait. Not nearly as many toppings as Subway, they seem to keep it pretty basic, but the food is still wonderful. Very good place to get a turkey sandwich on light rye. Their turkey is fresh, tender and thinly sliced. They give you a decent amount too. The tomatoes were good (although I did get a tomato butt in my sandwich). Coleslaw was decent too. Service was quick and prices were reasonable. Recommended. read more

The sandwich lives up to everything it written to be fresh ingredients large quantity not a sandwich for those looking for a quick light meal. Great atmosphere and employees are awesome people. we just moved here from brooklyn. i got a "Corned Beef" It was cold! and it was on this wheat bread that I could buy from a cheap supermarket. both ingredients were bad. the lady at the counter wasn't very helpful, or nice for that matter. the only redeeming quality, was maybe the coleslaw on the side... if you're starving and need something go here, otherwise no way. I don't know who all these people are that are giving this place good reviews, but they must not have any tastebuds whatsoever read more

I had a wonderful egg salad sandwich, made by a lovely female wearing pink cheetah pants and a pink shirt, that was all I was gonna get but lexi suggested I should try the bean and ham soup. This place is always a solid choice for lunch. The soups are made from scratch, the pickles are pickled by them, and the sandwiches are very hearty. The cookies and brownies are very good as well. The owner usually is so busy you get a generic "thank you, have a good one." The line can be busy at lunch time. The bread is nothing to write home about. No real complaints about this establishment. A good deli experience. My favorites to grab for lunch are: Kanas city steak soup, Utica Greens, and a Rueben sandwich. Accompanied by Dirty Potato chips (Cracked black pepper) ENJOY. read more

OMG, what a find! I was driving back along the thruway and wanted a quick bite to eat but didn't want to eat chain food and i didn't have time to stop at my usual Viet soup house. Typed in Sandwich and Brooklyn Pickle showed up. Great little place not to far from the thruway (maybe 5-10 min each way) Sandwich was huge, service quick and restaurant was clean. I wouldn't even give this place any stars. It's awful, from the food they have been providing to the people they employee. The employees are rude, don't have customer service in mind and dress inappropriately with see through leggings on. Disgusting. The food has gone completely downhill and I will now just spend my money at wegmans. At least when I go to wegmans I know there will consistency and good food provided. Really good sandwiches. The namesake "Brooklyn Pickle" sandwich was delicious and gigantic. My only negative was the bread was sub par (super thin and super soft, in a wonder bread kind of way). Even with the disappointing bread I was happy though. Prices are reasonable and the rice pudding is great. read more

This was my first time visiting this newer (well, to me) location and you get the same amazing sandwiches and service here! I had a half a corned beef on rye with tomato, lettuce and cheese. I don't know if it's the rye bread, the corned beef or something magical, but I insist on stopping here every time we're in town. I eat half the sandwich there, and save the other half for the road trip home. SO GOOD. read more

I was referred here during one of my student teaching experiences, as I was not as familiar with the Syracuse area. I was really impressed by the speediness and friendliness of this place. It seemed at the time that they were doing a remodel and there wasn't much seating available. That didn't really matter for me, but for the amount of people that were there at the time, it seemed to be an issue. I actually only tried a salad, but it was really good in comparison to pizza shop salads and the like. I would go back again if I was in the area. read more

Great food, it's all about the meet if you want it awesome!! Friendly staff, they were super nice and helpful with our family. Priced very reasonable for what we got. This is a review for the new BP in North Syracuse on Buckley near Taft. This would be 5 stars accept that I am annoyed, as is everyone else I spoke to, about the driveway traffic issue that was not well planned when opening this place. Us Liverpool and North Area folk were super excited about the BP opening up in our community and we waited about a year for it. Unfortunately, Instead of doing 2 lanes to exit, offering a left and right turn lane (or putting in a light), there is only one lane and you have to sit in line for 5-10 minutes waiting for others in front of you to turn left. That's a long time when you are in a hurry to scoot, which most of us are and why we went to BP to begin with. That is a very busy road and someone should have thought about this because many of us are not coming back (or only in off hours when we have time to spare) until it's fixed. I spent more time in line waiting to leave than I did inside getting my food to go! Otherwise this place is stellar. Food is fresh and fantastic and the long line moves very swiftly. The inside is bright and airy and clean. The staff is friendly and skilled. Everything is homemade. There is plenty of parking, so that was well thought out. read more

I ordered the vegetarian sandwich, and the woman who built mine was very polite but quick and efficient. The sandwich was huge but very good, especially for the price. One of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. I got a Cuban sandwich, while my dad got a Ruben. My first red flag was when I asked for my sandwich to be heated up, so they just took all the meat and cheese from the sandwich and tossed it in the microwave. I first tried their pickles when I got my sandwich. For a place named after pickles, I would expect amazing pickles. These were the worst pickles I've ever had. They were super soggy with no crunch, and just tasted awful. Then I tried my sandwich. It literally just tasted like mustard. They put about half a bottle of it on, and I could barely taste anything else. I got a lemonade too, and it was the most diluted lemonade I've ever had. It taste like they put 1/8 of a cup of lemon juice in 20 gallons of water. One of the worst restaurants I've been to ever, so not eat here read more
