There are tons of companies that will take small loads and combine with other small loads to make it worthwhile. I spent a lot of time researching, and I contacted lots of different moving companies. Many of them were desperate for my business, and frankly started harassing me by phone and email. Once I started digging further and reading customer reviews, practically all of them seemed to be horrific. As in the worst reviews I have ever read in my life, warning people to stay away, etc. Turns out that the majority of these moving companies are brokers who subcontract the job out to various other companies. In other words, you have no idea who will actually be picking your stuff up, who will be driving it across the country, who will be delivering, and so on. And so many people warned about their stuff getting lost or damaged and/or taking forever to finally arrive. I was actually about to just give up because I was not willing to take the risk. And thank goodness I found Cross Country Movers. They are a carrier, not a broker, which means that they do everything themselves and do not subcontract out any part of the job. I had a long phone call and multiple emails with Ari before I decided to hire them. He was patient and understanding and did not pressure me at all. Everyone with whom I interacted at this company was so helpful and accommodating. The two men who came to pick up my belongings at my mom's house in CT were wonderful. I received regular updates by text message with tracking info for the truck moving across the country. My stuff arrived safely exactly two weeks after pick up. And the fee was reasonable in my opinion - certainly less than I would have paid to rent a van and drive across country myself. I am extremely grateful to have found Cross Country Movers, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in a similar situation. My mom and my family were so happy, they were crying because it was a goal of my life to study in Harvard University. Because of this awesome news, I needed to move everything I had. I searched in Google, Yelp and mom helped to find the best moving company - Cross Country Movers. Why the best? Because of some things that other companies could not provide me with: 1. Knowledge of customer service. From the first I knew that this company cost a lot because of great customer service. A representative was very nice, professional woman who helped me answered all my questions. She gave me detailed answer for how to book, what to prepare and what to expect. I was satisfied from the beginning. Booking went very well too. A few days later I called her back and left a credit card for deposit and for the future references. 2. The day of actual moving. I could say that I am always late anywhere: business meetings, meetings with my friend. I wasn't expect movers to arrive on time. I would be absolutely fine with me 30 minutes before or after scheduled time. But no, they came at perfect time: 15 minutes to 10 am at the day of moving. They parked their truck, took all equipment and came to my apartment. I was moving from 1 bedroom apartment of 1050 sq feet. It is pretty big and I had so much stuff that I thought 3 movers are not enough. I was wrong. They finished loading within 1.5 hours not including packing. Packing took another hour. The movers were very fast, professional and east going people. I was very nice to work with them. They packed all my fragile stuff with special wrapping and all the boxes were bubbled from the inside and marked which room it belongs. 3. The day of arrival to Boston. The truck came to Boston in 4.5 hours. It's pretty fast according to heavy traffic. The unloading part went even faster. 1 hour and all my belongings were placed to the right rooms and all the furniture and mirrors were unwrapped and placed to the room as well. I would like to say thank you guys for such a hard work you did. I also would like to say thank the company who has these great guys able to work professionally.

I called for an estimate and spoke with Jerry who was very helpful in explaining to me all the different options available and pricing for each of them. The price was reasonable, and this was a company paid move, so I opted to go with the full service package, which includes the packing, loading, shipping door-to-door, paperwork at customs, and delivery to my apartment in the city. I have to say that this was all relatively new to me, but it worked really well. MORGAN SHIPPING did a good job, and I am grateful. They gave me a lot of helpful information on how to pack some of my personal items and the crew arrived early and started packing my TV and big items. Then the big truck with the container arrived on my street in Oxford. We had to block the street to be able to get it as close as we did, so we left one guy to watch the traffic. The landlord was not happy with the big truck blocking the street, but these guys were mindful of not scuffing the walls while moving the big stuff, so he was happy with that. Mike, the head crew was the best. He was very patient with me and very efficient with the guys. They worked the entire time without taking a break. My friend was there to help. She enjoyed watching these guys packing so organized. Jerry from the office was checking to make sure everything was fine and that I was up-to-date with the required documentation for exports, etc. After they left, Jerry sent me an email with the arrival of approximately 30 days. When the container arrived in the US, Surina from the customs office was very nice and helpful in explaining the taxes and everything. She got the container delivered the following day with no problems. I have so much stuff that it did not fit into my small New York apartment so I asked them to store a few items for me. In the end, the overall shipping processes door-to-door was about 27 days. I was a little nervous with the process and the move. Moving companies do not carry a good reputation in general and there seems to always be negative experiences no matter whom you speak with. This, I can honestly say, is not one of those instances. I go back and forth between Oxford and New York work constantly for work, and I'll continue to use Morgan Shipping when I need to move my belongings.

Instead board got laid in a truck (MPH admitted) apparently unwrapped and bounced around on a sharp object- apparent from photograph and confirmed by board manufacturer as a common form of damage. (See picture detail of scratches that happen during transport) MPH refuses to reply to my multiple correspondences. Unfortunately, I have to contact an attorney now increasing costs for them. Was willing to settle for refund, repair costs, and additional shipping to manufacturer but now will have to include attorney fees and travel time. See pics of pic up and how board appeared at the shipper. MPH tried to blame shipper but board placed damaged side down by courier hiding from view, shipper reviewed board and contacted me. Update after MPH finally responds on Yelp: Below is MPH's response. Clearly I've posted a picture of their pic up person with the undamaged board and they confirmed this early on yet they still try and claim it may have been previously damaged?? They knew the history and value of the board. That is why I requested a hand carry as it was only a few blocks to the professional packaging and shipping company. I did not send "menacing emails" I offered several fair solutions. (See screengrab of my unanswered emails.) my comment "Sorry it's come to this but I'm an East Coast guy like you and we don't take shit lying down" was a simply an effort to find common ground with these guys. I simply gave them the courtesy of making good on the damage before posting on Yelp. I told them on the phone that I was suspending judgment until I had a chance to gather all the evidence. When the manufacturer told me the cause of this type of damage, as they have seen it many times on improperly transported boards, it became obvious (see the detail of damage and compare to image of MPH courier with the undamaged board). This ultra-light carbon fiber board was placed on a sharp object where it bounced along on the roadway, you can even see where it was yanked out of the truck by the forward scratches. This type of damage would not happen leaning against a stationary wall like the one the courier propped it up against at the shipper's facility ( he placed it damaged side down by the way according to the shipper who called me immediately after he turned it over to pack it. ) I apologize for suggesting they did still charged me upon inspection of my corp AMEX account they did not. This is appreciated, however, this suggests they may be in agreement with me. Sadly, I now have to take legal action. I only want what is due to me, what is fare and we will have to let a judge decide now costing everyone more. I am confident I will prevail and will post the outcome here.

Very happy with these guys. I first know them 3 years ago when they transported a gt3 for me from…read morenew york. I arranged for the transport myself this time for a car from boston to LA. The dispatch responds fast even on the weekends, the rates are fair and align with others. I looked up their insurance and dot info and everything checks out. I get constant updates whenever I text them. A week later my car arrived, the truck is big and in really good condition, the car wasnt that dirty considering that it travelled 3k miles, mileage remains unchanged (no crazy joyrides). Driver Manny is real friendly and fast, very efficient guy. His pickup documentation is excellent, super detailed and there's so many pictures demonstrating the condition of the car when it was picked up and at drop off. My car arrived with no damage and I am very pleased. Bill of lading is all digital and you have a record of all pictures that can be downloaded. I buy cars 1-2 times a year almost always from out of state, and seen a lot of trucks and transport and this is probably the best i have experienced. I was going 71 mph (limit 70 mph) and passing cars on my right. Wreckless driver came from behind and didn't like that I was passing cars only at 71 mph and kept high beaming me. Once I passes cars on my right I tried to switch the lane so wreckless driver will pass. Wreckless driver didn't let me, passes me at 90 mph on the right, and switched to left lane in front of me. He did multiple times break check me and tried to slaughter me by making sure I hit his trailer tail and be sandwiched. I called Troy car inc and left voice mail. No response. They don't care. Who in the world will drive semi at 5 am in dark at 90 mph and break check others? Who did give them a right?
