A nice way to spend an hour or so with a 1.5 year old! There is an impressive amount of animals. Pretty much every farm animal that you could imagine, plus some other fun animals like llamas and even a zebra. Tickets are $10 PP for ages two and up, and you can also buy a small or large cup filled with carrots to feed the animals. Don't expect much in the way of fall fun (apples, pumpkins, etc). This is mainly to see animals, and I thought it was a nice change up from some of the usual farms. There is also a large playground area and a sandbox, and we even noticed some birthday parties going on. Sun High in Randolph also has animals and more of the 'fall fun' stuff, but here you'll see at least 3x as many animals and you can feed them. There is a BBQ food concession if you want any food / drinks, but otherwise there isn't much in the way of food. My daughter loves animals, so this was a fun and different thing to check out locally. I'm looking forward to bringing her back this summer when she'll probably be a little more excited to feed the animals.

Came for the drive through farm, which is happening on Sundays during the COVID period. Kids had a lot of fun feeding the different animals from the car. At $15 for a car full, I thought that it was great value. Also they allow you to bring your own carrots for the drive through so you don't need to buy them there (note on other days you do need to purchase the carrots from the farm). The entire path is single lane, so does progress a little slowly. However it actually was not too bad, and this gave the kids a good amount of time with each group of animals. The path did get fairly close to some of the animals at times (so close that someone with longer arms could probably reach out and touch them). Animals were typically willing to get close for the food. Note that the entire trip takes around 20min, so you can do it multiple times within the hour window. We ended up doing it twice, which we felt was sufficient.

It is a great place but I am really worried about the COVID spread. When I entered I was greeted by two females who told me that " maks are not needed inside, they only recommend social distancing" Its scary as there are no sanitizer stations or hand washing stations inside. I feel masks should be mandated whatsoever given the pandemic. We did a walk around tour (5$ per person) you can buy carrot feed n shovel for 2.50$ on enterance and train ride (3$ each) . Animals are spaced well and will eat . Lovely place for toddler and families. But please take necessary precautions as COVId cases are on rise again

Thank you Brookhollow's Barnyard for giving us a social distance experience that my family and I truly enjoyed!! Purchased a ticket online. Only $10. Don't forget to tip! One ticket per vehicle. Once it's purchased you must print your ticket and upon arrival place it on your dashboard so they can mark you in. The two ladies at the gate were extremely friendly as they greeted us and explained the rules. Most important rule to all is to stay in the vehicle! You are allowed to feed the animals by throwing them carrots only! You can find animals left and right so don't be upset when you first enter and see the first stop of animals to the right. Now, keep in mind this isn't a drive through farm all year round. These people went above and beyond to make it happen. With that said the drive isn't a mile long. But it's worth the drive! The best part, you can go back around as many times as you please within your purchased hour frame. This Barnyard has truly won me over for showing their care for the people and all of their animals. I look forward to coming back!

My wife and 15 month old daughter went here yesterday and had a blast!! The owner was extremely hospitable. Covid safe. Great value.

Such a fun experience at Brookhollow's today! Inexpensive entrance fee that we were able to purchase online the day before and then for a few more dollars you can buy shaved carrots to feed the animals. The price includes a little bucket and shovel with their logo on it that is yours to keep! So many animals to feed there-- goats, alpacas, bunnies, sheep, pigs, ponies. Beautiful peacocks and geese were there too! We felt comfortable enough being socially distant and wearing masks. The barn is big enough were we didn't get close to anyone except the animals and fed all of them with the shovel that was provided. There was a cute goat that was roaming free around the barn that was so happy to gobble up some carrots. We paid extra for a tractor ride which was a lot of fun. We got to see the entire farm with a nice tour. Only two families were on the tractor, so we felt totally comfortable since we were more than 6ft away. I highly recommend this barn for kids of all ages! I enjoyed it just as much as my little guy!

Native Americans were already growing pumpkins even before the Europeans arrived in the country. After their arrival, they also learned about this versatile plant and started adopting it. The Europeans used them as the main ingredient in various dishes and meals, including soups, stews, and the widely famous pumpkin pie. It's that time of year when one can't think of anything more quintessentially autumn than hopping on a hayride, cutting a fresh pumpkin from its stem, and bringing it home to carve, which is why my partner and I came this Saturday afternoon to Conklin Farm U Pick, located on the corner of Vreeland Avenue and River Road in Montville. Upon arrival, we were guided by the staff to their organized spacious parking lot. This much simpler, relaxed, family-run and operated farm offers a little bit of everything. The ground is a decent size for everyone, from regular and haunted hayrides and train rides to picking your own pumpkins at 85 cents a pound and the purchase of mini apple cider donuts, pies, and apple cider drinks. The crowds were manageable. There was an authentic pumpkin patch with vines and pumpkins attached to the earth! Parking and entrance were free with friendly staff, and the price was reasonable. We had a great time here and will definitely visit it again.

For instance, the haunted hay ride was $15 per person. The haunted hay ride wasn't too scary, and it was pretty fun, but it lasted less than 10 minutes. I think we spent more time waiting for the ride to begin than the ride itself. The folks who dressed up to scare us did a really great job and I hope they are compensated appropriately. It's nice that they offer a day time haunted hay ride which is pretty hard to find (we have looked extensively for my nephew who loves scary things). They should advertise this more. They have mini apple cider donuts for $7 and you get a dozen. These were so small and lacked flavor, it was disappointing because I dearly love apple cider donuts. I think because there wasn't much sugar on them. I was also going to get a small white pumpkin but Trader Joe's has them for cheaper. My nephew got a large pumpkin and I used a wheel barrow to push it around (only adults can use them). They weighed it for price and it was about $15. Again, I feel like we could have done better with the prices. This place is nice if you live close by and don't want to drive far. Staff were very nice and my nephew did have a good time. They have a regular hay ride which we didn't do, but looked fun! This place is perfect for the little ones as it's not too big. They do have a wide selection of different pumpkins including greens ones (which may be a gourd and not a pumpkin, but all the same). I was impressed by the variety. I don't know if I'll be back, but it was a nice treat for the day!

It was fairly easy to find though going there, my map told me to go down a treacherous gravel road which I wasn't terribly fond of. They have a moderately sized parking lot and you'll see this large, red barn. That's where you get your goodies (there's often a line) and where their store is. We stopped by for a treat first. They sell ice cream, cider floats, and what is a "TikTok famous" coffee float with donut. We got: Cider ($4) - I didn't actually drink this. I got it for my kid with food allergies. He wanted ice cream but they do not know if the ice cream they use contains eggs or not so we played it safe. My kid thought it was okay but finally finished it later. He typically prefers regular apple juice. Cider float with donut - you have a choice of no donut for $2 less. It's like a root beer float but with cider instead of root beer, black and orange sprinkles around the time of the cup, whipped cream, and a powdered cider donut over it all. I shared this with my daughter. That donut was delicious! Warm, tender, and crisp on the outside. The drink was great! I do wish it came with a spoon because it got difficult finishing the last of it. Warning: if you have one of these, the bees are coming for you. They use some sort of caramel-like sauce to get the sprinkles to stick. Overall, quite good. Maple cider donut ($3): my sister got this and she said it was amazing, but she said she thought $3 was a bit much (the unglazed donuts are $1.25 each). She's vegan, so didn't partake in the float, but she also wasn't going to ask if there's milk in the donut. If you're getting only donuts, they are purchased in the store. They have tables and chairs nearby for you to picnic and enjoy your treats. Going through the gates, there was a table but they were busy with other people so we walked right in. There is no entrance fee, which was nice. You go through the apple orchard first. It seems like most of the apples have been picked through, though there are a lot of developing apples. Some of the nicer ones were way too tall for us; they don't provide ladders. We only managed to find one that looked nice. At the end, there used to be a sunflower field and the corn maze. It's epic but you don't know how formidable until you're past the point of return and realize it's not a kids maze. We were in there for a while! Even met other kids that thought they'd be lost forever. The corn stalks are taller than a human and they're pretty dense so you can't look over or through them. It's a true maze and I was impressed. I wish they would provide a paper maze puzzle of the corn maze because I'm so curious how it is from above. Lots of dead ends. What I can say is don't lose hope. You'll get there! (When we finally found the exit, it was almost like a dream because we had been staring at corn for so long.) In hindsight, it was good we ate something first. Once done, we explored the sunflowers and saw the pumpkin patch. As we headed out, we went to pay for our lone apple and we discovered THE CORN MAZE IS NOT FREE. It's $10 per adult and $5 per kid. They charged us $1 for the single apple. I guess they work on the honor system? I didn't mind much because that maze clearly took planning. Before we left, we visited the store full of baked goodies. I got a few cider donuts, a dumpling, and a piece of crumb cake because they just brought out a fresh tray. Plus a lattice harvest pie. The pies with crumble aren't vegan, but the lattice pies are made of vegetable shortening. Restrooms! They have a row of port-a-potties by the parking lot. They're actually the cleanest ones I've been to before. No sinks but they do have a dispenser of antibacterial hand gel. The openings are a bit large so if your kid needs to use the toilets, hold onto them. Overall, it was quite enjoyable and I definitely think everyone should go through a corn maze of this caliber at least once in their life. The apple pickings were sparse but at least you get delicious floats and donuts! Note: they have gluten free goodies in the store but they are nut based (almond flour). They also had one gluten free-vegan item.
