Oh my how Long Branch has changed over the past 20 years....what used to be a seedy beach town has turned into the local playground for the affluent. Loaded with expensive condo developments and restaurants Long Branch makes for a great place to visit. The beaches are beautiful while there are too many amenities to list. Pier Village is one of the top attractions, it includes a condo development, restaurants, hotels, lounges, boutiques and a gym. Mcloones Sunday Brunch, Cocktails at Avenue and Dinner at Sirena or Rooneys are some of my favorite things to do. read more

Escape to the beautiful resort town of Long Branch... I was planning to visit Point pleasant beach & Boardwalk but while looking at the map, I saw this. Been to Asbury beach and point pleasant, so decided to come here and I am glad I did. This is more beautiful then Asbury or any boardwalks around. It is a beautiful resort town with something for everyone, wide sandy beaches and an oceanfront path for jogging, strolling and enjoying a summer full of events. Parking is easy to find. 3/hr on weekends. Beach is clean and guards are there to watch you swim. Palm trees on the beach make it more beautiful. Bar-hotels-Boutiques -shopping complex- Sea view great restaurants, wish anything and you ll get here. This is not your typical boardwalk (yet). I loved it here. Just to the reminder, they do charge a small fee entering the beach. Basically, it's weekend relax gateway and only an hr away from the city. read more

To be honestly when i go down the shore i go to just sit and relax on the sand. You won't catch me getting in the water. I just love spending my time in the sand, relaxing and enjoying the sun, i can literally do that for hours. Long Branch is an okay Jersey beach because it is less crowded and that's major for me. Last time i went i paid $5 for a daily pass. Just keep in mind they don't have a boardwalk with your typical boardwalk games and things so if you are looking for a boardwalk this is not the beach for you. Also, be careful where you park and read the signs. We parked in the streets and we didn't noticed that we weren't supposed to park on that side of the street and ended up getting a ticket. It was like a $50 dollar ticket. read more

Nice Hump Day to work from the beach with Kids! To break the cabin fever, we thought to drive to Long Branch (LB), NJ beach since the website states Covid 19 guidelines are being enforced. First it was a beautiful day, not to hot or windy, the tides were high and people were low. Here are the reasons for my review: +1* - LB officials placed a COVID-19 message on your website and enforced it with signage at the beach. Signage in parking areas and blinking light billboards. +1* - Did not see on website but at the beach there is an app VIPLY to download digital passes in advance (13 yo to 61 yo $5 buck during weekday & $7 on weekends) +1* - The part we decided to make our own was clean, clear of seashells, crabs and left over flip flops. -1/2* - At first glance the lifeguards & clerks were great, abiding all the strict rules, making sure people did not go in certain areas and maintained distance. Beach clerks & Lifeguards alike, either changed shifts or started not to care as the afternoon brought more patrons to enjoy the sand, they were not as proactive with following the social distancing rules. -1* - The bathroom area got out of control with to many people going in at once and not replenishing toilet paper and hand soap. We will go back during the week; however we will get there early morning (8am and leave early afternoon (1 or 2pm) read more

LONG BRANCH: we are really loving these random warm days and spent one of them at LONG BRANCH BEACH! Dogs are allowed on the beach through May 1st. We came across this cool lion sculpture that just after the photo was taken came alive and tried to eat Brie. Luckily we escaped! FYI, the promenade (boardwalk) is not dog friendly all year, so when crossing over to the beach, use a little hustle. There is a blacktop path that parallels the promenade where dogs are allowed and you get the same views! Dogs are allowed on the sidewalks of Pier Village and restaurants where there are outdoor tables (check out our map in the About section) for specifics. We stopped by Ocean Place Resort & Spa to relax in their lobby. The lobby is dog friendly and so are their second floor sleeping rooms. Then we headed to Bacon Beach Grille, a delicious breakfast, brunch, lunch spot. Their outdoor tables are dog friendly in season. The food was excellent and the staff was so friendly. The owner, Fran, is a dog lover and has trained many seeing eye dogs! We will go back in the spring/summer and give a full review! SO GOOD! read more

One of the better "northern New Jersey beaches". This beach is great because it has a great boardwalk and a nice promenade area to get something to eat or relax on. The lower area is dog friendly too so that's a big plus. The crowds here are also quite pleasant and they aren't crazy like some of the other beaches in the area are. If you go here in the offseason, the rules are a bit lax, so take advantage of that time while you have it. After Memorial Day, good luck finding a parking spot after 10 am through Labor Day, they are slim pickings (unless you want to pay for garage parking, which is fairly expensive). The drive is also pretty, and nearby is Sandy Hook, which overlooks NYC and has a nice ride as you drive your vehicle 35 mph. It just feels like romance and a fun time all over again. But so does coming here, which is why you should make your way here for a day - or two, or three... read more

I always love coming to this beach during the summer months because it's never too crowded and extremely relaxing. I tend to come here during the week when I have days off since it is less busy. I've been here on a few occasions and I have to say I've never had a problem with finding parking, or a nice spot on the beach to sun bath in. I never park in the lot-I've always managed to find parking on the street and walk over which it is normally not too bad of a walk. Additionally, it is a very diverse beach with all races and genders which I typically enjoy. Unlike other beaches, this beach does not really have an active boardwalk. Although there is a small boardwalk, it is generally not a lot of people on it. Every time I come here, I tend to park at the opposite side of the boardwalk where they serve food and drinks and really just come to get my tan and read a book. Overall, I've always been happy with my visits here and will continue to come back with family and friends moving forward. PS-I am very late with this review as I thought I wrote it already back when I was actually at the beach lol. read more

Decent beach. It's been getting better as the years progressed- not as dirty, the sand is pretty soft. They do charge for entrance though but now they do accept credit which is nice (no longer just cash). But besides the long beach, there isn't much to do here unlike the other beaches which has a boardwalk with activities, carnival rides, and restaurants. The only this place has is the restaurants and shops that are crazy expensive. Parking is also limited if you don't want to pay (street parking is across the highway so you got to be careful); otherwise there is a parking garage and a parking lot you can pay for at the actual beach itself or a little bit off way right before you turn into the beach. I don't really staff often besides at the entrance where you pay for your daily pass badge so if you need something, look for the lifeguard stand or go to the entrance! you can bring your own food which is a plus! read more

The beach is clean The stands where you get your beach badge are conveniently located and the people working it have always been friendly and happy to be working. The price to get on the beach is either $5 or $7 depending on the day. Weekends are higher. There are enough restaurants to satisfy your crave, whatever it may be. There is a parking lot that charge $5 for the day located next to the CVS. It is a short walk to the beach. read more

Great beach without crowds and has a nice, beachy resort feel to it. We were looking for a quick getaway on the Jersey shore which wasn't ....well...the "jersey shore" and the bad reputation that comes with it. A friend at work who lives in the area recommended Long Branch as a hidden gem, so we stayed here over Memorial weekend and weren't dissappointed! I recommend staying at an AirBnb as hotel prices are high, and the better restaurants are also charging Manhattan prices. Otherwise, it's easy and cheap to get there on NJ transit and the beach pass is only $3.50. Clean beach, no aggravating crowds, a nice new Boardwalk and decent Cafes and places to eat. We rented umbrellas right on the beach, but public restrooms were across the street in Pier Village. For food, I had sandwiches at Rib Eye sandwiches, a huge delicious pink lemonade off the boardwalk, and recommend dinner at McLouns Pier House overlooking the water. Get breakfast at Amy's Omelettes on the outskirts of Pier Village. Everything was walking distance but when we needed a ride to the station from brunch we just used Uber. Long Branch beach was just right for a 1-2 day getaway. read more

Our new favorite go to spot on down the shore. For starters its way closer to us to travel to. Parking is a breeze and it takes credit cards. The beach and boardwalk is peaceful and clean. This is a "more quiet" alternative to the hustle and bustle of the traditional spots down the shore with rides, arcades and wheels etc. The bathrooms are clean. Also the center of town, Pier Villiage has great shops and restaurants. Definitely the place to go to relax. read more

One of my favorite beaches to go to. I always feel trusting that I could leave my belongings on the beach and come back and it will still be there. Definitely family friendly as well. There is a fee to get on however; it was about seven dollars today (that being a weekend.) You literally pay for what you get though - a clean, litter free beach. Great area , great shopping boutiques as well as food places to eat in the town. Places like Avenue, playa bowls , Stewart's and more. There is also a beach bar that my friend and I went to which was super cute. They have frozen drinks , rosé and more. Only downfall is the parking. Super busy on weekends and all the close lots to the beach were full. The spots on the street are also only 2 hour parking which is hard if you're trying to lay out all day. This is always my first option for beaches. Love the town , people and vibe! read more

My friends and I love this beach. It isn't that far off from north jersey just exit 105 off the parkway. It's not overcrowded as other jersey shores and more important, its clean! There is an admission fee is $5 weekdays, $7 weekends and holidays. There is parking available for the public but its only for 2 hours so if you stay there longer, you need to park in the private lots and the costs varies on weekday and weekend. There is food eatery restaurants across from the broad walk. Chinese, Italian, Greek, American etc. and ice cream shops. There is a restroom inside the parking deck area and its air condition. My only complaint is that they need to have more than 2 bathroom stalls and a changing area. There's no changing areas which makes matters worse for those who really needs to use the toilets in the stalls. read more

This beach is always so wonderful to visit in NJ! We as a family go here all the time during the summer! This past weekend was Easter and we were in the area and stopped by. With 80-90 degree weather it's always so nice to put your feet in the sand! This beach is always so clean! They take care of the sand and outdoor showers. The bathrooms are also kept tidy and neat! There is also a nice board walk shopping center. They have the cutest shops and restaurants to stroll around. If your ever stop by in NJ always check out our Jersey Shore beaches - this by far is one of the best! read more

Very nice beach! Family friendly, small shops and restaurants right by the beach. No attractions like rides however they do have an arcade for the kids. There are also Volleyball nets set up throughout the beach as well as a very small play ground. The waves are rough! If you aren't ok with being wiped out every now and then then this is not the beach for you. Parking- meter parking is $2 per hour or Valet $25 for the day. Arrived around 10am Monday morning and was able to find parking right by beach entrance! Beach entrance fee- $5 for anyone over 14yrs old Kids 13yrs old and younger free Food/coolers- allowed hassle free!!! read more

Pretty beach and so many great places to eat and shop around pier village. I stopped at the ocean on the way back from a checkup/ appointment in the general area - went for a walk- so peaceful and so pretty. I can't talk to the summer crowds/ scene but I've been to several of the pier village restaurants in the past - slightly off peak season- and all were good for food drinks and atmosphere. read more

This beach is the new preferred beach for the coming summer. I only discovered it at the end of last summer, and knew that 2017 will be it. Lots and lots of parking, and they made it easier since you can use CC to pay for parking. It is quieter than many other beaches, and for the moment it will fit my needs for a quiet and easy to get to beach. Note: on some days the beach will get dirty and weedy. I just absolutely love love love Long branch. I'm biased of course because I grew up near here and I was a lifeguard on the beach in West End. Many of the guys I worked with are still on the beaches so believe me you're safe :-). Beaches are also recently replenished. They just really need to get moving on rebuilding the boardwalk! Overall, Both pier village, which is closer to the north end, and West End, which is closer to the south, (go figure) are filled with stores and restaurants and entertainment. I would really like to see the revitalization of long branch away from the beach...like Broadway!! There's also easy access to the train to New York. read more

Pros: Much more quite than other jersey shore beaches. The social class is more upscale. Only an hour from NYC. Not too crowded. Very cheap day passes: $5 per adult on weekdays. Cons: The shallow part of the water had a million seashells that was VERY painful to stand on. When the waves hit the shore, shells just slapped your shins which could lead to cuts. read more

It's beautiful, relaxing, peaceful... best beach spot. There's no rides and amusements and kids running around, just cute little restaurants and shops and a gorgeous boardwalk to walk on. Walking up and down the boardwalk is serene. Just stare out into the waves crashing, sitting there watching the sun rise or set, this place never gets old. read more

This beach isn't the greatest or cleanest. Last time I went I saw floating sanitary pads floating in the water. The further you go into the water the more uncomfortable it can be, there's way more rocks and shells in this beach, so I'd recommend getting those swim shoes if your feet are sensitive. I usually only go to the unprotected parts where you don't have to pay to go on the beach, which is better because I don't think this beach is worth a 10$ pass. The boardwalk is nice but it's just full of overpriced restaurants. Overall not the worst, but there is better out there. read more

This summer I have discovered a gem! I love Long Branch beach. It is well worth the drive from Brooklyn. When you arrive at the long branch board walk you see many stores/restaurants/food stands. Pier village is so pretty. When you get to the beach you pay $5 on weekdays/ $7 on weekends. The beach is beautiful, no garbage. You are able to rent chairs and umbrellas if you wish to. Such a relaxing place to spend your day. I wouldn't suggest coming on a weekend although, I went last Sunday and it was jam packed, we were basically sitting on top of the people around us. Your best bet is to go on a weekday and leave early to avoid traffic. read more

Long Branch is probably the #1 beach destination people go to, and it's no surprise to me. The beach is very clean, and there are lifeguards everywhere for protection. The water starts too get cold, but as soon as you sink in, the water starts to get nice and warm. There are lot of rocks and shells on the sand, which makes it also kind of nice for kids to collect. My only quibble, is, that when I go to a beach, I like to walk on the sand, and explore. However, both directions I went, there was something blocking every 2 minutes I walked, making it a little bit boring, because I'd rather not swim, and sit in a beach chair all day. But, overall, this is a great beach. read more

A New Jersey beach fairly immune from Guidos. You won't see too much fist pumping or too many fake tans, tattoos, or dudes carrying water gallons around here. But you also won't find much parking either. Pier Village has a lot of residents. Between them and the several businesses on or near the water, it's rough and tough. But, it's worth the struggle considering the parking is free (or $30 if you find yourself having to park in one of the garages). The day passes for the beach itself are $7. read more
