Perfect reset after a fun night out. Veronica was an amazing server. The bloody flight hit the spot and the American breakfast was perfect. Bacon and eggs done just the way I wanted, plus I find it's sometimes hard to find good sourdough outside of the bay and there's was that perfect combo of sour and fluffy with just the right amount of toasting and butter to boot. Great way to start the day!
Highly recommend the chicken and waffle! I'm bot usually much of a fan of chicken strips and prefer the old school freshly fried chicken piece but I have to say that these strips were top quality, excellent batter and hot and fresh. My husband had the crab cake bennie and enjoyed it equally as well. The waffle and chicken is def large enough to share between 2 people.

We came here during brunch and it wasn't busy which was nice to be sat right away on the rooftop. We got to enjoy the nice weather and the skillet was a large portion. I really enjoyed their in house made salsa they put on the skillet as well. The service was pleasant as well and was attentive when we needed things as well.
We went to Broken Yolk for breakfast and it was so good! Tried the Cinna-cakes, seasonal pumpkin pancakes, and a Hash Skillet -- everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. From the warm greeting at the host stand (Lupita) to our awesome server (Erica) and friendly busser (Percy) the service was phenomenal. I've been to several Broken Yolk locations, and this one is definitely my favorite! Loved the seasonal décor and the bright, welcoming interior -- it felt so cheerful and cozy. Parking was easy too, which made the whole experience even better. Designated parking lot (signage to help you find it easily!) or street parking. Definitely one of those breakfasts that just puts you in a good mood -- can't wait to come back!
My boyfriend and I decided to get lunch at this chain restaurant when we were looking around to eat something. We thought it would be very packed on Saturday noon in Pacific Beach but surprisingly, it wasn't! The location that we went to is located next to Sinclair gas station and diagonal of Citi Bank on Garnet Ave. There is a free open parking lot in the back of the restaurant in the side street. There's also a sign for additional parking if that lot was full. Being located in PB and finding parking could be a huge headache, so it was great to see that they offered free parking to customers. My boyfriend and I started off with a drink. We go their Iced Matcha which was very good, just a tad too sweet for my liking, but I had forgotten to request for it to be less sweet. The quality of the drink was very nice. I got the Machaca with flour tortilla. The portions were huge! I was very appreciative of the huge portion for the amount I was paying. I had to ask if the tortillas came with the entree as my previous visit at another location had an extra charge when the server didn't mention it. That previous server made it seem like the tortillas came with the meal! Luckily, the Machaca came with the tortillas. I thought the machaca was lacking in flavor. It was kind of bland to me, lacking a bit of umami or salt. The condiments they had on the table were only hot sauce, ketchup, and tabasco which didn't seem fitting to me at the time. My boyfriend got their Chicken & Waffle Benedict which was amazing! Sooooo much flavor! The hollandaise sauce with the poached eggs and waffles made such an amazing combination. The chicken was seasoned and fried very well. It was very tender and moist! I was kind of worried it would be dry because of how tiny the chicken looked (looked almost like a fried fish). Overall, I thought the food was relatively good. The Chicken & Waffles Benedict really surprised us both. The Machaca could definitely be better in my opinion. So far, the benedicts at this chain restaurant have been winning our hearts. So maybe next time, I should just get a benedict as well.
Talk about a huge menu, so many choices. Really hard to choose and know that the portions are going to be generous. We went on a Monday morning and there was no crowd, seated right away and the server was so nice and pleasant. Didn't even blink when she had to come back several times because we were visiting and not looking at the menu. I had the Mom omelette which had lots of veggies and they happily didn't add the spinach which I totally don't like in eggs. Choice of sides which is several types of potatoes I chose hash browns which were delicious. The outside were crispy and the inside nice and soft. Also a choice of toast, biscuit, English muffins and something else I can't remember. I had a biscuit which was obviously home made and so good. My friend had eggs Benedict which were perfectly cooked and came with a huge portion of hash browns. wish they had one of these in Seattle.

Broken Yolk is a cute spot for easy & goood breakfast! I usually opt for something savory, something sweet, and of course some coffee. Staff is attentive and quick. I always leave happy :)

This is my new favorite home away from home. Our server (blonde in her early 50's?) instantly welcomed us in the warmest way and I knew instantly I wanted to give her a great tip. She tended to our needs, often anticipating what we wanted before we did, with a genuine spirit. Our food came quickly, hit the spot, and arrived exactly as ordered. We will absolutely be returning next time we are in the area. Lots of seating, too. If this restaurant gets busy, I have no doubt the wait time will be minimal. read more

The food was good and they have a few Vegan options, which is important to note. They have syrups and jams right on the table. Overall the experience was okay, it was a holiday weekend and you could tell the server had too many tables. Came here last weekend for my son's birthday brunch. He ordered the French toast and I had the BLT. The portions are always sizable. The prices are little on the higher side but the service has always been good. I took away a start because the lettuce in my BLT was not good and the sourdough bread was overly toasted and cut my gums when I bit into it. We love the top deck area overlooking PB . I'll definitely be back but probably just stick to the breakfast items. read more

Anytime my boyfriend or I had friends visiting San Diego, Broken Yolk Cafe always came up as a suggestion. In the past, there wasn't much for me to eat. However, Broken Yolk seems to have recently added a few vegan options to their Healthy Side Up menu! One of them being the Spicy Vegan Breakfast Bowl. The base of the bowl is a heaping portion of homefries with JUST Egg™, spinach, mushroom, onion, green and red bell pepper, and plant based BEYOND SAUSAGE® hot Italian link topped with avocado and sriracha. And wow! It was amazing! In addition to the food itself, service was pretty quick, and the hostess and waitresses were all very nice! I love that this location has an outdoor seating area as well and ample space inside. I'm currently out of town, but I am already planning my next visit as soon as I get back! read more

If I ever make it back I will try something else. The blueberry muffin was one of my favorites. Big juicy blueberries, moist cake. Highly recommend! We decided to try the mimosa flight after seeing others having it at other tables. It came with an orange juice, pomegranate juice, lemonade and grapefruit. Fun way to try different flavors! My husband was very excited to try this place. We got a table in their outdoor area. The ambiance was very SoCal themed and neat. I got the Greek omelette and the pomegranate mimosa. My omelette was cooked perfectly and was packed with flavor. I was surprised by the quantity of food. I also got a side of rice and beans. We were given the choice to sit down anywhere in the restaurant, so we decided on the table that was facing the street with the decorative window!!! It was a great choice of tables and restaurants, and when our server took our order, WE MUST HAVE STUMBLED ACROSS THE BEST THINGS ON THE MENU!!! I ordered the WILD WEST BURGER with ONION RINGS and TOMATO BASIIL SOUP, and my partner ordered the MOM'S OMELETTE with FRESH FRUIT and BLUEBERRY MUFFIN, and HASH BROWNS. I couldn't believe it. Thanks to the Pacific Beast Fest that took place last week I was able to finally get the Broken Yolk Cafe. I have to admit that is not the type of place I would just naturally crave and the only reason I went was because I was the lucky winner of a $18 entree gift card. As I like to maximize my freebies, I ordered something that would really worth the money (eggs with something I don't think so). So I ordered the avocado toast with smoked salmon and it was large, abundant avocado and dish and freshly made. Delicious! I also ordered a pumpkin spice latte and it was perfect and beautiful.
