Tater tots
San K.

3.5/5 I came here for the first time with friends before going to a concert right next door at Roadrunner. This was such a convenient location to pregame with friends before going to the concert. There is plenty of seating and also a pool table + shuffleboard. You order your drinks at the bar but food with a QR code at your table. I liked the beer selection and the food was pretty decent. The tater tots were 10/10! My bf got the reuben sandwich which was okay and my mac n cheese with pulled chicken was the same--but I wouldn't have expected the food to be amazing at a beer hall. I initially had some beers but decided to branch out later with a cocktail. The mango habanero mule was offensively spicy (and I enjoy spicy things)! So be warned, the spice level is a bit too high and definitely lingers in your mouth/throat for hours afterwards. Overall a solid atmosphere, I would recommend sticking to the basics here with beer + bar food.

Was definitely an off-night but it worked out for us since there was plethora of seating everywhere. As the sign says once you walk in, just go find a table - easy as that. Fair prices for beer and the board on the wall behind the bar shuffles and changes every so often to show you what's available on tap, which is a pretty cool feature. It also shuffled to spell out 'Last Call' throughout the board. The draft and cans and bottles are fairly extensive for whatever your palate desires on certain nights. Multiple TVs adorn the area, seating is varied depending on the placement in the establishment with sit-down tables near the twin shuffleboards, high-tops in the center and a couple couches and the backwall bench seating with back pillows near the pool table. Service was friendly and professional throughout. The music was on the louder side but the soundtrack brought back memories of the 90s and 00s. Parking can be a challenge on the outside main and side streets depending on the time of day or even when there's a concert in the adjacent Roadrunner music venue. Another option is to take the risk and park at Stop and Shop or Stockyard and walk the 2 minutes.

Menu from Broken Records Beer Hall in Boston offers shareables, bowls, and hand-helds, with options like Korean BBQ cauliflower and carnitas tacos.

Why fix something simple when it ain't broken? Sometimes places can fall into the trap of trying to do too much. Prairie Fire is one of the few that can walk that tightrope, offering a raw bar, pizzas, pastas, a burger, seafood, and more. But everything we tried was delicious. I had an eye on so much on the menu but we ultimately went with the razor clam ceviche from the raw bar, a pepperoni pizza, the Maine lobster ravioli, and the mushroom toast (a crowd favorite). My favorites were the ceviche and the mushroom toast - do not skip it. The mushrooms are cooked perfectly and they slather a layer of parmesan aioli on the bread that cooks into it. Amazing. One of my best bites of 2025. Pepperoni pizza was pretty good but I still prefer the Neapolitan style. Have to come back to try so many other things - the Maine uni toast, the burger, the trout. The sourdough ice cream was a super unique dessert. They take the leftover butts of loaves and soak it in milk/cream and the result is almost like a less sweet salted caramel. Loved the textural addition of the poached pear. We were lucky to come around 5 on a weekend evening and snag some of the remaining bar seats but when we left, the place was completely full. Come early or get a reservation! Parking can be tough in Coolidge Corner; I recommend seeing if you can get a spot in Webster parking lot at the back of the restaurant.

The food was relatively good but nothing crazy. Had the summer squash pizza which just seemed very watery. I regularly order the pepperoni pizza and farmer's salad on uber eats. The pizza is very reliable, but farmer's salad can be hit or miss in terms of getting the freshest greens (had sometimes where they were slimy/gross).

The wine selection is excellent and thoughtfully curated -- whites, reds, bubbles, orange wines, and more, so there's truly something for every palate. My friend and I both ordered a red, and it was absolutely perfect. Our server was super friendly and attentive, and she even offered a few samples so we could try before committing to a full glass, which we really appreciated. For food, we shared the hot dog with fried oysters to pair with the wine, and it was surprisingly delicious and a fun, elevated bar bite. Overall, the experience was fantastic -- great wine, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Pricing is definitely on the higher end, with wine glasses around $20 and the hot dog at $14, but the quality and experience justify it. I'd absolutely come back for another wine night.

Unfortunately, this most recent visit didn't live up to the high standards I've come to expect. While a few dishes hit the mark, the majority of our order was a letdown: Tinned Octopus: Surprisingly chewy and lacked seasoning. Mushroom Toast: The texture was rubbery, and the flavor was completely drowned out by an aggressive amount of balsamic. Beets: Had a very overwhelming cumin flavor that threw the dish out of balance. Roast Beef Slider: Served cold and felt a bit uninspired. It's such a cute, intimate space, and I've had so many wonderful nights here in the past, but the execution was just off this time around. I'm hoping it was just an off night, but it was definitely disappointing given how much I usually love this place!

The bartenders and waiters were super sweet, and they were even giving out free drinks throughout the night. The sangria was delicious, and so was the chocolate cake. Tips: Make sure to make reservations. You will have to wait, if you want to be seated and not just hover around the bar its usually a 10- 20 minute wait after your reservation time. It is loud, so if that isn't your thing, maybe skip it. It is most fun after 10 pm. I've been back many times since.

The restaurant was pretty dead, so we were expecting a relaxed, smooth experience. The prosciutto and cheeses were great -- but let's be honest, it's hard to mess that up. My friend ordered a cheese and meat board and a steak, and I ordered the mushrooms and mussels. After two or three rounds of drinks, I realized my food still hadn't come out. I asked the bartender about it, and he said it could be out in five minutes. I told him that if it was already on the way, we'd take it -- but if it hadn't been put in yet, that was fine and we didn't want it anymore. His response was basically, "If you want it, it'll be out in five minutes." No explanation, no acknowledgment of what happened, and no apology. It felt more like "do you want it or not?" rather than any ownership of the situation. In the end, I never got my food, and it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Not terrible, but definitely disappointing given how quiet it was. The food we did have was solid, but the lack of communication and basic apology knocked this down to two stars for me.

"Walk in as strangers, leave as friends."…read more If that's not a saying that makes you want to head there now, then I don't know what is LOL! Obviously, there is more to the new renovated location of La Cantina than this saying but I will say I was pretty impressed when I saw it and knew I had to add it to my review. Let's just say it is pretty accurate. We did leave as friends since we made a few at the bar and then some. Just saying! La Cantina winery in Franklin, MA used to be a small wine bar that offered wine tasting flights and minimal food. BUT, now it is in a stunning new location (not far from their old stomping grounds). Fun Fact: It used to be a Mechanic garage. Well, wait until you see how it has turned from fixing cars to wine making and tasting. YOU HAVE GOT TO COME HERE! Parking is easy with plenty of spots. They have a lot of room at their gorgeous bar, but they also have high tops and tables for families or a large group. And, they host events here too; birthday parties, bridal showers, and anything in between, this place is it. I actually want to hold one of my milestone birthday parties here but well keep the number a secret for now. Service: Alana was our bartender and she was wonderful. Always asking us what we needed and how were doing. You don't get this upscale service any where else. And, when I wanted another sample of something she gave it to me without a fuss. Always with a smile on her face, she was the best. Wine: They have an excellent wine menu to choose from and they offer flights for about $25 pp. Flights are the best way to try multiple wines. I personally loved most of the red wines with Petit Sirah being my favorite. My husband loved their Barbera! I did sample their Sauv Blanc too which was nice but it was too cold to have a full pour. Food: Their menu is great with a ton of options from charcuterie, to tapas and some entrees. I will say some of their items can get expensive but definitely worth it. We started with a few cheeses and prosciutto. Then we ordered one of their popular pizzas called La Cantina. Everything was fresh, made in house with their beautiful pizza oven right smack in the middle of the bar. You have got to see this thing, its huge! Overall: If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We had the best time and we can't wait to go back. Franklin is not far from where we live but still a good 30 minute drive and also not far from the Wrentham outlets. We didn't have to make a reservation for a Sunday afternoon but I bet Saturdays can get pretty busy. I just loved everything about this wine bar and I know you will too! Cheers~

No one came to address is for severance minutes and then choose to move to the bar. Here, Alna, the main bartender, greeted us immediately and made us feel welcome. She explained the wine flights and offered a sample of Reisling to my girlfriend, who preferred Moscato, which La Cantina doesn't offer (though no one trait does in New England). Thankfully Alna had a similar palate to that of my girlfriend, and they quickly made a connection. Love that! I chose a flight of reds and ultimately preferred the Clone 8 above those that I tried, thigh the Cab Sav Reserve was a close second. The Drunken Goat cheese sample was delicious too! The menu definitely has us eager to come back for food. And for those who aren't wine drinkers they have a small selection of beer and a cider. The atmosphere is lively and open, and looks like they'd open up the large bar doors on a nice day. Come enjoy a flight, or a glass, you can't go wrong!
