Being from Chicago, I thought it would be cute to see what this Wisconsin beef joint called an "Italian Beef". All I can say is wow! That is a serious beef that easily rivals Mr. Beef on Orleans, and easily blows away Portillo's (especially since Dick sold it). I ordered it dipped with giardiniera and mozzarella. It was absolutely perfect! The flavor of the beef was outstanding! Dipped to perfection and packed with lots of giardiniera and mozzarella. Above and beyond the beef, the fries were very good. I'm guessing cut fresh on site by the taste of them. The restaurant was immaculate at 12:15 on a Friday. I love the combination of Bears and Packers decorations all over. Loved this place, but never again. I don't have high expectations at fast food but I expect a fast food place to have a cashier who can say can I take your order?" These days, I don't even expect a please! This young man, we waited 5 minutes with no, I'll be with you in a few or any acknowledgement that we were alive walks over, leans on their register and says nothing. I said do you want our order? He grunted. Never asked what I wanted on my burger, my husband got no peppers or au jus with his Italian. While we waited for our food, I hear the young man talking about burning a burger. It wasn't worth the trouble to comment this young person's attitude or total disregard for his job. This is my go-to place when I'm in Delavan. It's been at least two years since I've been here but I have a good memory when it comes to burgers. I'm a very picky burger eater but Brodie's has always been satisfying. Love the burgers... good, quality meat, cooked to perfection. Not too burnt/charred, not too raw. Get it with the Merkt's Chedder. O...m...g. Awesome addition! I also love the fried mac & cheese bites that I get instead of fries or onion rings. They have some salads on the menu if you're health conscious, but this isn't the place to go if you're looking for a healthy bite to eat. Can't pass up those burgers or the italian beef (never tried, but it looked fantastic). This isn't a quick in, quick out burger joint. They take awhile to cook the orders. **Mainly written for Illinois expats/visitors** Portillo's is to heroin as Brodie's is to suboxone. I moved to Walworth Co. from Chicagoland four years ago and this place is by far the closest taste of home I've found anywhere in a 30 mile radius. You'll get a lot of the same food at Brodie's as you would at Portillo's (burgers, dogs, beef, etc) but I have to say the latter is a clear winner. With that said, I'm shamelessly biased and Brodie's still easily gets me my fix. I'm still waiting for the day I get one of their Chicago dogs with that perfect Vienna Beef 'pop' and I doubt the buns are S. Rosen's... but it's close enough given our circumstances. My personal favorite is the Italian combo. However, if Chicago food only reminds you of tire boots, tollways, and Jay Cutler, there's plenty of regular sports bar type food on their menu too. Everything I've tried tastes pretty damn good but some of their new fried side items sound f*****g awful. The people behind the counter are always nice and everything's priced fairly. Super disappointed stopped in tonight around 8 PM and expressionless young lady informed me that they did not have any buns I explained to her that I was on the keto diet and I didn't want the bun anyway.....subpar customer service...pretty sure she forgot to add mozzarella to the beef. We always look for unique locally owned places when traveling and we're glad we discovered this gem of a restaurant. Brodie's Beef is the real deal: an Italian beef/gyros place that serves food that rivals and even exceeds the more hyped joints like Portillo's. My wife and I each tried an Italian beef sandwich - hers with hot peppers, mine with sweet. They were enormous very hot and fresh, and very delicious. We also really liked the fries - they, too, we're hot and fresh, with just the right blend of crispness and texture and a great flavor. The price was right: under $20 for two meals even with drinks. Service was terrific - very friendly. This restaurant is obviously run with a great deal of care. We will certainly be back when traveling through the area and highly recommend Brodie's Beef to anyone. read more

I came here yesterday with my grandmother to try for the first time. I ordered the bacon cheese burger meal. It was by far the best burger I've had in a while. It was so fresh, they cooked the burger perfectly. The fries were homemade so it still had some potato skin left on it, which in my opinion are the best kinds of french fries. The employees were very nice and accommodating. I live an hour out and I would make the trip that way just to eat at this place. Only thing that I didn't like was a fly must have got in and kept coming around us which wasn't a big deal. I will definitely be returning back! read more

Stopped by for lunch on the way to work and after reading the reviews thought I should give it a try. The place was relatively empty for mid day. The lady at the counter was friendly and menu had a decent variety of food. I decided to try one of the burgers......it was just like the stars say A-OK. If it weren't for the patty itself, it would have been excellent. The meat was just way overcooked, over processed, and lacked any real flavor. It is kind of sad, because the toppings and bread were excellent. Even the cheese had a real smooth meltyness that would have been perfect if the meat it covered tasted good. For a $6 burger I expected a little better quality of the meat. I would like to go back and try some other items on the menu. They appeared to have gyro meat and seem to emphasize there hot dogs on the menu. Other patrons appeared to be content with their meals. read more

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Delbrook Golf Club. I had the beef brisket, which is only available on Mondays, & it was AMAZING! The owner was there, & said he makes it at his home on Sunday. The other people I was with got the Italian beef, which was also really good. Had lunch here last Friday. Ordered the Italian beef and fries meal, with giardiniera. A little pricey at about ten bucks with a drink but not unreasonable for the quality. Bread was fresh and sturdy, meat was tender and juicy, fries were hot and crispy. Not a bad place, food is slightly above average good place to go for an Italian beef sandwich, They also have some unique specials available as well. Also have a good assortment of appetizers/sides which is always nice when you want to change it up a little bit. I know Yummers isn't a word, but that it the one that comes to mind. The flavor was great without it being heavy like some Italian beef sandwiches can be. I needed to boost my iron and thought immediately of Brodies. I'd been here before, but never tried their Brodie Cheddar Burger (burger, egg, and cheddar). I came in Sunday afternoon and waited in an 8 person line to place my $5 order. Ten minutes later I exited with burger in bag in hand. I was pretty disappointed when I got home and realized they forgot to slap on the cheddar, and then extra disappointed when the charring of the burger overtook the taste, especially since the burger was well-well-done and I'm a rare-medium kinda gal. Oh well. If there's a next time, I'll have to double check my bag. I like to support local, so I'll probably try again and offer an update. read more

Very clean restaurant and beautifully decorated. I ordered to go... The staff was pretty nice. I had a gyro and really liked it. I like my cucumber sauce a little more cucumbery though. my boyfriend got an Italian Beef and I found it weird they didn't give or offer a side of Au Jus. My mom had some kind of loaded hot dog and she said that was good. The basket meals are around $10.00. The drinks that come with the basket are tiny. They look like children's cups. And the portions of fries could of been larger. My order was to go. read more
