Place was recommended by a local. Fresh, daily made pasta with different sauces it's the way they do it. We were a party of 7, so we were seated in the second room and had to walk thru the kitchen (that was very clean) to get to the other side. It was fun! We all ordered different dishes, I had the seafood pasta that was perfect. The Stromboli (like a ravioli but larger) was also a great choice. All the sauces (bolognese, carbonara, pesto, etc) were flavorful and fresh. We love wine but we were so thirsty that we ordered a local beer (Patagonia) and it was great, family style. I just wish we could have water offered, but other than that, You can't go wrong with anything in this menu! The best part? Broccolino is a cute little Italian restaurant in the Centro section of the beautiful city of Buenos Aires. There is a deep feeling of family here, meaning as you sit there and watch the servers work, it becomes obvious that they have worked together for a while and help each other. They work as a unit and there is a feeling that this is not just a job for them. There is pride in their work. My first visit I was lucky enough to have a server that spoke wonderful English. He was so helpful with suggestions and conversation. I was in a simple mood, so I ordered spaghetti with Bolognese sauce. It was simple but delicious. The second time I visited, I had chicken parmesan. They served me a huge portion, which I had to take half home for later but that meant I could enjoy this meal two times! Their house red wine was actually very nice, for a lower cost wine. They offered me limoncello at the end of my meal - a nice touch that is very customary in Italy after a meal. Really a nice way to end our trip to BA. We got there at 8:00 on a Saturday night and got one of the last tables. Our waiter Andres was great and gave us perfect suggestions throughout the meal. We started with a nice Cab from a vineyard we just visited in Mendoza area. We ordered our meals of eggplant parm and chicken Milanese. Both came out about 15-20 minutes after ordering piping hot. My wife said her eggplant was the best she ever ate. My Milanese was huge and I could only eat about half of it. The restaurant is old school Italian place you would see in NYC. Very good Italian food, more of the red sauce variety than anything new, but that worked just fine for me on a sleepy, drizzly weekday. Service isn't friendly, but it does the job. The ambience is photos and articles (the chef cooked for the Rolling Stones when they were in BsAs on tour in the 00s, that kind of thing) and a mural of the Roman Colosseum. The star attraction is the giant pizza/bread oven in the center of the room. They were out of the burrata, bummer, but the caprese salad was just fine. We are in Buenos Aires the day before a cruise. The hotel suggested this restaurant as it was only a 7 min walk. We arrived around 6:30 (early for this area). The service was impeccable. Our server spoke excellent English. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Thankfully the waiter suggested only one dish per person (splitting an appetizer and a main dish, or two main dishes for two of us). And he was right. The portions were very large. Hubs had Veal Marsala, it came with 3 large pieces of veal. (Way more than he could eat). The gravy was delicious and hubs really enjoyed it. I had Gnocchi with bolognese sauce. The gnocchis were melt in your both delicious. And the sauce was also really good. I too could not finish my entree. The house Malbec was quite lovely. And we got a tiramisu to go. While in Buenos Aries on business I was referred to go to Broccolino. I was able to walk there from my hotel. Came upon what loiter like the restaurant that looked closed, but it was the place next to it. Whew. That's good. Hit there early and they gave the door locked with a " buzz in " feature. It isn't the safest area. Sat for a bit before we actually were approached. Once we were... the servers were all quite nice. Ordered wine and started with the delicious bread. They bring the olive oil. Had a regular salad and also a Caprese salad. Then my dining companion had the eggplant Parmesan and I had the ravioli with regular meat sauce. Both delicious and so much food. We each brought food back to hotel. When we left we decided on Uber. As again... the later it gets.. we didn't want to walk back. Very Disappointing - Mediocre Food and Way Too Expensive for BsAs. Six of us had dinner. The beef and seafood pasta were very good, the chicken was good, and the other three pasta dishes were disappointing, including a carbonara that was "disgusting" (sorry to have to use that word), according to that person. And then, to add insult to injury, they took advantage of us with their USD exchange rate (850 pesos/$ instead of the $950-1000/$ we were getting everywhere else. Lastly, please note this restaurant has two connected storefronts. To get to the other, you have to go through the kitchen, and then end up in the other with a locked door and the roll-down security curtain covering the windows. Went here seeing the trip advisor reviews. This place is good interior wise, average food and service wise. I went alone for dinner, so ordered a half bottle of Malbec wine, which was good. The service was very random, the server did understand some english, but wouldn't give me olive oil and balsamic. I had to get it for myself from their serving table. When I asked him to get me water, he got the sparkling water, and changed it to still water on request, but charged me for both. The pasta was pretty good, but he portion size here is HUGE. I had skipped lunch and hence for dinner expected to finish the full serving, I could barely finish half of it! The good part is that they accept VISA card, tips only in cash. I did not expect to go to an Italian place on Buenos Aires but there are a ton of Italian influences in the city so we wanted to have a go at Argentinian Italian. And we were not disappointed. We got the Calamaretti Fritos and Bruschetta Romana con Tomate Concase to start. They also have your more traditional fried calamari squid rings but do yourself a favor and get the Calamaretti instead. It's fried baby squid with a lovely white wine and, maybe a bit potent, garlic sauce. I love garlic, so this hit the spot for me but I could see it being a bit jarring for others. The Bruschetta was nice: a bit burnt on the bottom but the tomato and basil were super fresh and it had a kick to it too. Entrees: -Paparadelle with Potemkin sauce (garlic, oil, spicy tomato and broccoli). Meh, it was fine. I definitely chose the wrong pasta given how light the sauce was but at least it tasted fresh. I tried my friend's Tagliatelle with Marado (mushroom, tomato sauce, dried tomato, olives and garlic) sauce and it was much tastier. -Pechugita al Fungetto con Pure: holy heck this was good. The chicken was super tender and the creme sauce was really creamy and rich. Get this but be warned, it's huge. Lastly, the place itself was quite nice. Spacious (fit 9 of us fairly easily) and clean. And the servers were very patient with out bad Spanish and did speak some English themselves. read more

AHHHHHHHHH. I love this place so much. I can't handle it. I refuse to come to Buenos Aires without a visit to this restaurant. Everything on the menu is incredible. However, I love the squid ink pasta with seafood and the spinach/ricotta ravioli in rose sauce. The bread that comes out is always warm and a mix of cheesy goodness and pizza dough. The waiters are fun and friendly. It will be hard but save room for the dessert. I cannot explain how much I love this place. Went to this place on recommendation from our tour director. Its a small Italian place with authentic tasting Italian food. Go here for a variety of pastas and fresh and tasty sauces. They have around 20-25 diff sauces which you can choose from and pair them with whatever pasta you want. I ordered the Potemkin sauce which is tomato based with tagliatelle and hubby ordered the spinach and cheese ravioli with pesto crema. Both the dishes were delicious and flavorful. What a disappointment! We opted to go here for dinner on night three of our time in BA since we wanted to experience something other than parrilla, and figured the large Italian presence in the city would translate into good Italian cuisine. How wrong we were! While the waiter was friendly and nice, and the place packed with both locals (apparently) and visitors, the food was simply uninspiring. Some of it could be due to poor ordering on our part, since some of us ordered Caprese salads, despite tomatoes not being in season this time of year, so the resultant flavourless pink tomato-shaped slices lying atop equally flavourless mozzarella slices bore no resemblance to the same dish as served in Italy or even your better places in the US, where it is simply not available when the ingredients are not at their best. Worse still, the one dish I was looking forward to trying--the ravioli with venison--was not available, so I fell back on a pizza Margherita, which, when served, was so redolent of garlic that all other flavours were obliterated, and whose crust was so tough as to be almost uncuttable with a knife. We were at this restaurant on a Monday, so perhaps the chef was off his/her game, but based on my experience I would not be able to recommend it. read more

This little well known spot is your go to for pasta when in Buenos Aires. It's not the most spacious place but who cares, you get the wonderful experience along with authentic Argentina pasta. The owner greeted me as I walked in and made sure I get a table quickly. The set up was quick and within 5 minutes I had everything I need plus my ordered out in! Luckily, today was the 29th of April, every 29th day of the month it's historically traditional to eat Gnocchi (Ñoquis) this is due to historical payroll was paid on the 30th of the month and people didn't have much cash on the 29th so they ate gnocchi as an affordable cheap dish. I got the traditional gnocchi but with an off menu sauce the owner told me about!! Additional I'll be having the calamari Broccolino which is their most famous dish, it was delicious, but you must like lime and onions. Definitely a must try when visiting. This place is sooooo inspired in NY city's "Little Italy" that the decoration basically consists of pictures of NY and the Brooklyn Bridge. Like any restaurant in Little Italy, there's little authentic Italian to it beyond the basic idea of pasta, but the food is great and has been perfected over years of trial and error. This place was a disaster. Not so much the service, but the food was gross, oily, and nothing to do with a legitimate Italian place. Only the posters may get you to think it is related. I ordered the pasta 4-way salsa. All of them were insipid, overcooked, and the sauces didn't have any flavor. They also forgot to put any salt. I should have known better looking at the pictures on Instagram of the dish split with pizza dough in 4 compartments. Oh, and the pizza, if you can call this a pizza, I think my arteries will suffer for a few months until it can process the amount of oil I absorbed eating that. Please avoid this place.
