Yep, it's TARDIS for oenophiles. This shop stocks such rare treasures as boutique bandol wines not typically available in the States, along with highly curated and palate pleasing small production wines spanning the entire spectrum from haughty Cabernets to dry yet ebullient prosecco. There are Viognier, vernaccia, verdicchio and valpolicella...and that's just one letter of the wine alphabet. I like to pay a little more to keep smaller businesses open that are surrounded by corporate competitors. Sadly, the owner has lost his way with an " us versus customer" attitude. It's almost like he thinks being petty about a bag is more important than the bigger picture which is offering something his competitors cant. He also snacks behind the counter, which isnt a good look. His nephew Sunny is always dinking around on Tik Tok on his phone instead of being customer focused. If he had asked if I wanted a bag I wouldnt mind paying at all but instead he made it awkward like its my fault he has zero customer service skills. I didnt have anything but a card and he didnt ask before he put that the transaction thru. Its like they have a negative mentality somehow patrons are trying to beat them out of 10 cents

They are now promoting a $3/ bottle wine selection (Three Wishes) that looked pretty good. Sound familiar? For a small store, they do seem to have picked a niche that fits my tastes. It was packed in the middle of a Friday afternoon, and has all the things you'd expect. For me that meant some mineral waters, fruit & veggies, yogurt, and yeah, gummy lobsters.. why not. The staff is always friendly here, and I hope that means they take good care of their employees from up in corporate. It certainly seems that way. Unfortunate liquor store in the neighborhood. They don't stay stocked in any sort of reasonable…read moremanner and they close the store early more than you can imagine. When their son works, he closes 10 - 20 minutes early, often. We wait all year until the students leave, to have a fun summer, and their son has no issue lowering the bar for the locals during that time. Too many times have I had to learn the lesson that, "hey, I'll quickly walk to the liquor store to grab something before they close," to have to be reminded that my 5 minute walk needs to start at 10:30pm to even have a chance. They close at 11pm, earlier than others in the area, and still can't wait until that time. We often purchase the same thing for the weekend, and once that row of alcohol is gone on the shelf it takes 3 weeks to a month to get it back in. I'll just say that it's a common staple of liquor. My best guess is that, because of their location, they get so much business that they don't care about typical business operations. Please! Please! Please! Somebody buy them out. Hopefully we have better options when this strip mall gets demolished and the multi-use project gets up and running.
