Can't believe I haven't reviewed Hazels yet! This is a large liquor store right off 28th street. It's well lit and the staff are very friendly! They have a lot of options, I like the mulled wine in particular. They have a great beer wall and offer lots of unique singles. I love the 450 North options in the back cooler. That's the place to check for those cool beers! read more

They have more choices than the Longmont Wyatt's for as much as 10% less. The only negative is their limited web portal (same as Wyatt's), with a very poor search feature and with no vintages for wine. read more

The service here is phenomenal. The parking lot was pretty crazy on a Friday afternoon. I do not understand why people do not return shopping carts. Come on people! There is a huge selection of well-priced wines and everything you need for your cocktail party. They even have fun wine gift bags next to the back register! The only reason I am reducing to 4 stars is because the online ordering and app didn't allow me to schedule a same day pickup and it was erroring out on my phone number. Frustrating! It seems odd that a beverage store selling the range of products available here would be so deficient in institutional knowledge of wine. Identical products purchased from other liquor stores are routinely sub-par here. Do they leave their shipments in the sun on the loading dock too long? Are their distributors passing off bad batches? Who knows? To their credit they will accept returns on bad wines, but who wants to go through the hassle? Their prices are not so competitive that it is worth taking the chance of having to make another trip just to get your money back. This is to say nothing of their "Super Sunday Specials," which are often halfway to vinegar and barely passable for cooking. This comes back to institutional knowledge--does nobody there recognize that these products are bad? If nobody there can discern the problems with these products, then why is Hazel's even in this business? And if they can see that these products are bad, then why are they selling them in the first place? Perhaps a hint is to be found in the warning buried deep in their emails--"ALL SALES ARE FINAL." But again, why bother being in the business of selling a product you won't stand by? read more

I was having my friends over for a small poker night and went in the other day looking for a few different types of drinks and I don't drink too often so I was walking around exploring my options but I guess that's an alarm that caused several employees to stand around and side eye me acting like they were fixing bottles around me. I even heard three employees gather up in the aisle next to me and loudly speak about stealing which is extremely unnecessary and rude and was clearly directed towards me. I placed my bottles of wine down and left, I'm never giving this place my business. I'm a middle aged man and I carry around an oxygen tank, I don't understand why I was profiled unless it was a racial profiling. Whiskey/bourbon/scotch selection is pretty awesome on mainstream and international levels-- boutique stuff remained very local. And the beer! Pricing across the board runs a touch higher than average when not on sale, but I'm giving them a pass given the quality of curated inventory. Top shelf booze is secured in a display to the right as you enter, near the clean bathrooms. Plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot. Floor associates Buz and Sean provided wonderful customer service with regards to anecdotal/factual advice and shopping assistance, respectively. Bought a bottle of Willett single barrel bourbon running scarce in our hometown, and was similarly tempted by the rye. I opted out of a membership since I'm not local, but bonus points for having a rewards program. read more

Not only do they have an amazing selection of wine, we came in for the whiskey, which they have many names that are not easy to find elsewhere. Definitely an impressive selection all around! A fun touch is as we were being rung up, the cashier handed my son a little glider to take home, echoing the airplane on their sign. This is Colorado's BevMo. They have a large selection of wines, beers and other alcohol. Our search led us for graduation beer. Wow, if this was craft stuff, I'd be in Heaven. I don't know anything about beer, but I bet if you were in search for it, they'd have it. Well, maybe...we decided to ask for Israeli beer and they didn't have that. They have specialty, domestic, imported and even a special room for swanky beer. I bet the beer behind those flaps are costly. Cases and cases of beer. Someone like me doesn't know where to begin a search. If you want options, check them out. The cashier was friendly and so was the associate who looked up the Israeli beer for us. The store is clean and the air conditioner was blasting, which was a good thing because it was hot in Boulder that day. read more

I have been a long time customer, I tip well, an order regularly. I have always relied on home delivery due to a medical condition. All deliveries have been flawless and without incident until this evening. The driver said she was not allowed in my building. I don't even know how that is possible! She argued and insisted she was not allowed in. My only logical response to that is to not deliver. I have yet to receive a refund and when I called the establishment, they insisted it was due to my behavior. In all the years I have been a customer, I have never had an issue! The Liquor Mart down the street recommended Hazel's as we were on the hunt for A.D. Law's cask strength offerings. They had the small bottle of one and we chose a few others to take home as well. Hazel's has a great variety of whatever you fancy in the spirits, wine, and beer departments. We did ask for assistance and the employee wasn't rude but not really helpful either. He didn't seem to know the products as well as the other store. Nevertheless, we mostly found what we were looking for! The young lady who checked us out was very helpful and signed us up for their program even through we hail from Michigan and it saved our friend $25 on roughly $200 in booze which isn't too shabby! read more

The majority of the employees are friendly and helpful, but a few rotten apples in that bunch make it hard to give this store a high rating. One cashier in particular, a heftier white girl with glasses who looks like her name could be Betsy, was particularly unfriendly. I put my drinks on the counter and began to reach into my pocket for my wallet/ID when Betsy, very coldly and impatiently, b!tched about needing to see my ID. Yes Betsy, I'm in the process of pulling out my wallet as we speak, so please relax for 3 more seconds so I can take it out for you. Once I hand it to her she proceeds to eye it for a good 10 seconds before scanning it, then she looks at it again for another 5 seconds just to be sure that the ugly 38-year-old balding man isn't using a fake ID to buy a 6 pack of Modelos. I try to make light of the situation, as I jokingly say "don't worry, an old-timer looking guy like myself wouldn't need a fake ID haha", but she just stares at me with an dead face. So sorry my ID isn't fake Betsy, I'm well aware of your snitch incentive program at Hazels, receiving a commission on every fake turned in, so you better just put it to rest. Never before have I had a cashier go to such lengths to make sure my ID is real, nor has any cashier been as unpleasant to complete a transaction with. It's unfortunate, as I'll be finding a new place to buy alcohol for the time being until Betsy goes back to Alabama where she belongs. read more

Prices are deceiving! You have to have a membership to get listed price. We selected a bottle of wine with a shown sales price of 12.98, it rang up over $17. Cashier explained that prices are for members. I asked how you would know how much bottles were. He shrugged and said 90% of customers have memberships. Prices are very reasonable comparable to the stores in Broomfield, that's for sure. The rewards program is what it is - give your phone number and email to receive discounts, no more than one email per week which details their Sunday ZCard specials, and you earn points on every purchase that can be redeemed twice per year - *points do expire if not used during the redemption period* The cashier's are barely aware of your presence, I don't think I've ever had an interaction that was positive or negative - they just scan and send you on your way. I can live with that in exchange for the rest of my shopping experience. read more

Coming from wisconsin, I love a great liquor store with a enormous selection. Hazels did not disappoint with this! They had many options ranging from tequila, whiskey, and vodka! They also had numerous choices of wine and beers. In addition, you'll find snacks as well near the back like cheeses, pickles, and chips. Another thing I liked about Hazel's was the fact the staff was very helpful and wanted to answer questions. There were only one thing I did not like about Hazel's is the fact you need a membership to get the discounts, but it is free to join. It is just a bother to sign up for a place if you're just visiting for a weekend. read more
