Points for being easy & convenient! Westview is pretty clean and well organized. They have a great selection of your standard brews, wines, and spirits. It's not huge like the Whole Foods liquor stores out here but they have a few out of the box finds. The owner can be a real toss up. We stopped patronizing this place and started to go to the one across the street or the one next to the Dollar Tree and Soopers. The reason why is because the owner cocked a wicked attitude with my husband one day when our card kept declining. The thing is, we had money on the card but we forgot that all the info is set up as our address in California so it kept declining because there were already too many "out of state" transactions being made. Be that as it may, the owner who sees my husband ALL THE TIME got all pissy with him saying that he gets charged every time someone gets declined. Obviously not our problem! Let me just say, if you own a liquor store in Colorado... I'd hope to a high power that you're making money because the competition is slashed since super markets can only carry the lame 3% version of everything & no hard alcohol (OoOoh the perks of being "a mile high"). Second, you own a business! A dollar or two or even three per swipe shouldn't bankrupt you or worse... have a loyal customer stop coming in because a few bucks of trying to take 1000% more money out of my account for purchasing booze at your establishment. You catch my drift? Sure, my husband comes in with his change to grab a forty or a swisher but that's because I tell him to grab coins to feed his addictions- HAHAHAHA! It's also funny because they never knew were we were even associated with each other since we never go in there together. Someones gotta watch all these kids while one of us makes a run, yah know ;) Sorry, Westview! Learn some anger management and don't talk down to your clients. Yes, their prices are average to slightly higher then normal but you do have a good selection of brews, spirits, and wines to choose from. I can only truly vouch for the brews though. They've got your run of the mill domestics down solid and your local faves as well. Maybe not the ooberly small breweries around CO but the "major local" brew companies, if you get my drift. The store itself is a good size and organized in a neat way. SWS is fairly clean and taken care of unlike those random stinky liquor stores you run into or even frequent. This place may not be the mecca of all things that make you tipsy like, let's say, the Whole Foods liquor store (LOL, I'm still getting use to that whole liquor concept here in Colorado), but dammit, it does more then just hit the spot. I am 25 years old and upon presenting my valid ID I received from the DMV, I was told that it was a fake. The kid who refused to accept my ID was undoubtedly younger than I was and claimed he couldn't see the state seal on it. I have had my ID for over four years (since I was 21) I am now almost 26 and it expires in July so I have not yet gotten one of the updated IDs and it is a bit worn. It's interesting to me that some kid can deny my license which is the same exact one I've been successfully using with my background checks and through the state of Colorado to obtain my nursing license. I recommend that if you don't feel like being demeaned and unless you have an updated license, don't waste your time stopping into this liquor store.

The new owner cut the employees that worked there, even though we had years of experience working there. I have heard from employees that work in their other stores, because yes they have bought out more, that they are NOT someone pleasant to work for. Misogynist is the word I've most often heard. Also, from what I've heard and seen, this place is not the warm and welcoming place it once was. I'm usually not one to recommend a large place over a small, locally-owned busines, but do yourself a favor and get your beer and liquor at King Soopers or something, unless you can find a small business close by that is not owned by this arsehole. It will be cheape, and you won't support someone that callously put loyal employees out of a job.

I totally get the frustration but I don't really need to see it every time I go in lol. I usually just go to Safeway unless I'm craving some unique beer.
