This liquor store used to be the place to go for all adult beverages. I have now tried probably 6-8 different times to get the Jose Cuervo margarita in the original flavor and have struck out every single time. (I'm an optimist which is why I keep trying) I'm done. The staff tells me repeatedly that they don't understand why but they're frustrated with the distributors - like really frustrated. And they have to keep apologizing to customers like me. But nothing changes. Many shelves are empty. I won't be coming back. When I'm frustrated and the employees are trash talking the distributors too, it's time to move on. read more

It may be the biggest, but I have been in nicer mega liquor stores. I came early morning, but by the looks of it, some evenings might be kind of fun! It was pretty easy to shop. If you're a person who likes to try new types of liquor, then this is the place to explore. Me? I just prefer rum, which they have plenty of! The prices are about the same as other giant liquor stores. So, if you're expecting a deal, the trip may not be what you're thinking. Both the wife and enjoyed the shopping here. It's a larger type liquor store almost similar to the Totals around town. Somethings of the same bottles may be split up around the store. Say for instance their store picks might be in 2 to 3 different shelves around the store. Other than that what I like about stores like this is they have sections where they put local (colorado) items, they are bigger so they have store picks which I also favor. I used to spend a lot at the Brighton location. Then I went in and they wouldn't honor their own shelf price. A very rocky young manager refused to honor the price and acted like a jetk. There are plenty if great stores out there that will get my business but never going back to the Brighton location again. read more

The new manager at Daveco doesn't update the spreadsheet for the whiskey club. We are never notified about new products ands that's one of the reasons we're in the whiskey. We spend alot of money and his knowledge is absolute trash. It's no wonder this business isn't growing or being recommended. The cashiers are not the brightest. My husband and I were about to purchase multiple bottles of wine and spirits, when the cashier asked for his ID to verify he's 'old enough' to purchase. No problem there....at 71 he's definitely old enough. Then he asked for MY ID, which I didn't have with me. Well, as a 70 year old I think he could tell I'm old enough to drink, but he wouldn't let my husband purchase because I had no ID. We walked out. Their loss and Applejack's gain. Customer service was terrible! The entire 10 minutes we were there trying to find our way around, the 3 ladies sat right next to their registers and had a great visit. There wasn't 5 people in the store. My husband and I bought 6 pack of Corona and some lime juice. In the next check out a guy and his two kids (under age 12) were checking out and they got through check out easy. When we checked out my husband, age 57, completely bald with a grey beard, got carded. No problem. But NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I- 53 with plenty of wrinkles and gray hair, had to go out to the car and get my drivers license because ANYONE in the store has to be carded. Not only a double standard but the mid 50's clerk was creepy about the whole thing. When I got my license back I asked her what year I was born and she just stared at me. She didn't even look. It's the day before the 4th of July. I'm busy planning funeral arrangements for my Mom. So I send my 25 year old daughter along with her 14 year old siblings to get alcohol for the 4th. The cashier and manager said she can't purchase alcohol with her siblings because they're not 21. I looked up the law in CO and you can absolutely buy alcohol with minors since the law was passed in 2019. Thanks for nothing Daveco. I'll never purchase alcohol from you again. I had a bad day today and decided I wanted to treat myself to my favorite beer (Weldwerks). I checked the closing time of the store (9pm) and knew I'd get there with enough time to walk in, grab what I wanted, and walk out. I walked into the store at 8:49pm and was walking briskly as I knew it was almost 9pm. I hate being the person to come in right before closing, but I knew I'd be quick. The person at the register was leaning with her back towards me and her face in her phone. Without looking up from her phone she aggressively said "just so you know, we are closing soon" and I politely said "I know, but I know exactly what I want." I didn't intend for this to be rude in any way, just letting her know that I knew exactly which product I'd be grabbing so I wouldn't take a lot of time. She responded back with "well we all want to go home." I was shocked that someone would say this to a customer, but I told myself that maybe I misunderstood what she said or maybe she was talking to a coworker. I got back to the beer section, but the lights in the cooler were off so I had to open the door to even see all the beer names so it took me a little longer than normal to choose the flavor. I walked up to the register at 8:53. The same woman at the register was once again still staring at her phone. Before I even put the beer on the counter, she rudely said "can I see your ID." I handed it over. She rang it up, I paid with Apple Pay, and as my phone scanned she said "And next time you can leave your attitude at the door." I hadn't said a single word to this woman besides letting her know that I knew what I was grabbing when I first walked in, so I was taken aback. I said "sorry, what attitude?" And she said "when you walked in you said you knew what you were doing" and I said "no, I said I knew what I was grabbing and didn't say it rudely." She continued to tell me that I was rude and that she wouldn't argue with me and then said "you can leave, goodbye" while pointing to the door. I told her that I thought it was rude for her to tell me they were closing as soon as I walked in the door 10 min before closing. She said "we all do that, even my manager." And I said "well you can inform people you're closing, but you can do it in a different way." And she said "we all want to go home, so you can leave. Goodbye." Once again pointing to the door. There was another woman nearby with black hair who was closing up the registers and 3 men at the door, who I assume are security of some sort as they all looked to have on some badges. Everyone was silent and allowed her to continue talking to me in this way. I said "If you want to leave earlier to go home then you should probably see about having the store close earlier. But right now you are open for 6 more minutes." I looked at my watch as I said this and it was 8:54. And she continued to point her finger at the door. I decided she wasn't worth my breath and energy anymore, so I left. As the men opened the door for me, another customer was walking in. I told them that I hoped they informed him of the same information that they told me when I walked in. I then proceeded to warn the incoming customer that they were almost closing and they would likely be just as rude to him as they were to me. As he walked up to the door though, they shut it in his face and locked it. He pointed to his watch and said they were still open for 5 more minutes, but they refused to open the doors for him. He was also very upset and yelled that he'd be taking his business elsewhere and leaving reviews online. What upsets me more than anything is that I went to get beer to end my day on a good note after I had already had a tough day. And I specifically chose to go to Daveco because I like supporting local businesses and I've always enjoyed the local beer options you have in stock, especially Weldwerks. But I will absolutely not be returning. I've worked in the service industry for years and have been treated like garbage by customers, so I would never even dare to be rude to an employee because I know how that feels. So to be treated rudely and accused of having an attitude by one of your employees when I did nothing but walk in during normal business hours was incredibly disheartening. I went home with a pack of beer and a bad mood tonight, and in exchange I hope all of your employees really enjoyed the extra 5 minutes they all received to go home early. I hope you can understand my frustration and are able to address this problem as it's not okay. While I will not be returning to this store in the future, I'd like to prevent other people in the community from being treated this way. There's enough problems in this world, walking into a liquor store shouldn't be one of them. read more

Let's try this again. They removed my last review because they said it did t sound like a personal experience, so I'll elaborate. I decided to make the trip up to Daveco from Lone Tree because they bill themselves as the biggest liquor store in the world. I am a tequila enthusiast, so I had pretty high hopes that I would find some great Tequila expressions, not just the brands with huge marketing budgets or pretty bottles to disguise the crappy tequila they are selling. I was excited, until..... I went in and true to their claims, it's massive. I went the tequila aisle and was excited to see a few good brands like El Tesoro, Fortaleza, Arette and Azunia. The. I mosey'd on down the aisle, searching for a quality tequila. I did not find it. The majority of their Tequila selection is commercial, highly marketed brands like Cuervo and celebrity owned brands which leave a lot to be desired. Unless you're a college kid looking for large quantities of tequila to host a frat party. Bottom line, Daveco has the worst selection of Tequila I've see for a store this size. Honestly Even King Soopers and Costco have much better quality selections. Big fail. I'm sorry that Daveco felt my previous review didn't seem like a personal visit and asked Yelp to remove it and the photos I posted. Shameful. Very unfriendly and very rude, I tried talking to a short guy with black hair (I don't know his name) and as I was trying to get his attention he walked away, and when I tried to get some advice from a lady for a bottle I wanted, she told me that they were closing soon and that I needed to leave so she could go home. I went to Daveco because they showed they had a special Kentucky Derby bottle that I wanted to purchase. I went early so there was hardly anyone there. I asked 3 associates if they could help me locate the item and they were not only unfriendly they acted like I was bothering them!! I told the cashier about it and she was sympathetic about my experience but I'm not confident anything will change. They have pallets of the same stuff all over the place, buying at that volume you would expect their prices to be a lot better. UPDATED I go here for any of my liquor as They have the best prices in the area but this review is based mostly around the service I have received tonight at the check stand. The man who rung me up was leaning up against the counter and just seemed outwardly tired of being there. I greatest him asking how he was doing today to which he made eye contact with me but ignored and then gruffly demanded my ID, which I was happy to provide to him. Then as we finished my transaction when I asked for a receipt he grudgingly printed one but would even grab it and pointed to the small printer as for me to reach across the counter and grab it. I generally receive adequate to Great service but tonight I just felt exceptionally devalued as a costumer. My review has now changed from a 2 star to a 1 star due to being hassled for caring my camera bag, which I have brought in multiple times before, by one of the clerks become recent manager. He's check me out as I generally go here for all my liquor needs. This man made me feel as though I was a criminal by bringing my camera pack because I had just gotten finished shooting some photos near Boulder and stopped on my way home. After explaining to him that it had valuables I wasn't willing to leave at the front counter or in my car he begrudgingly allowed me to walk to my desired Isle. As this as now been the second less then pleasant occurrence I'll be taking my business to Total Beverage. read more

Fine for beer and liquor. Bad for wine. No knowledgeable staff and pathetic return policy. You can't return a corked bottle of wine despite the industry policy of the wine reps replacing any bottles returned to the store. The store does not lose any money when a bad bottle is returned. The winery replaces it. The ignorance is unacceptable. I spend over $1000 on wine and other beverages a year and will never spend a penny there again. read more

Bigger? Yes. Better? No. Bigger pallets of beer. Bigger average selection of mainstream brews. Service was solid on the floor, staff was quick to get more of something that was hidden in the cooler (Eddyline Citra Verde). The cashier was uninterested and had the audacity to ask "what's with those?", pointing in the directions of the flat boxes in my cart next to the $100+ worth of beer I was purchasing. When I explained that those were to carry the mass of beer in the cart, she smugly said "uhhh, just wondering, we don't give those out, did someone give those to you?". Here's a clear recommendation for you: exit the Daveco parking lot onto County Road 7, proceed west to I-25, turn south and drive about 25 minutes to the Evans Exit. Turn right (west), and go about four blocks to Total Wines and More. You will be beyond amazed at both the selection and the prices. Your savings will more than pay for your time and travel costs, and you will leave extraordinarily content rather than frustrated and angry. It is what Daveco would aspire to be, but never will. Then do one more thing: remove Daveco from your address book and phone contact list. This place needs to go away. read more

I'm struggling trying to find a wine shop in my area. Not that I can't find wine, I am just a bit picky (ok, you may think snobbish). I was so excited about the size of the place, and there is a lot to chose from, and this place would be great for a party, where you want volume. Ok, this is where the snob factor comes in. The "cellar" was not climate conotroled, and if it was, it was too warm to store wine. Now before you go thinking I"m a total snob, I have studied oenology, so I am a bit passionate about my grape juice. I was more excited about the gin & whisky selection (Alkemist, Uncle Val's & Islay & Jura selections) than the vinos. read more

It's big, but it's really not *that* big. Far from the biggest in the world, I'm sure. Square footage does not equal good selection, regardless. Lots of wasted space. Wide aisles are nice for avoiding other shoppers, but there's so much room in here for more product, one has to assume they are just waiting until they get enough cash flow to justify it. Their beer department pretty much sucks...four or five doors of singles, maybe ten to twelve of six packs. And nothing particularly sought after that I can't find equally well elsewhere (and in more predictable condition...the '07 Saison Dupont I bought here was slightly skunked already). Brand new store, yet one of the crappy Indian lagers on their shelf was brewed in early 2006...as always, watch out for distributor problems...they probably get old stock thanks to C.R. Goodman, one of the worst distribution changes to happen in Colorado (they bought out Indian Peaks, who weren't great either but certainly more responsive than Goodman, with whom neither importers nor retailers like to deal). But anyways, the beer section is a huge disappointment based on the size of the store. This place would only get one star if I was rating purely on the beer. The wine is lackluster too, but better than the beer. Fairly large selection, but there certainly are larger ones elsewhere. Mostly random, some cool stuff, but mostly mainstream. The reason to drive out to this rather remote place? Liquor. Best prices I've seen, easily. Bigger selection than most on that point too, but still a bit short of amazing. They even have a $6000 bottle of single malt Scotch in a glass case (I think it was a 50 year old Macallan)...never seen anything that pricy on display before (and you thought $1500 cognac was expensive, ha!). But that's certainly just an anomaly...the selection is big, but not that special. I just knew their website flaunting the size would end up resulting in disappointment, and so it has. But yeah, I'll be back when I want to stock up on the hard stuff. And like I said earlier, it's possible the wasted space here will be filled in gradually as the sales allow. Someone would have to be rolling in dough to fill this place tight up to the walls AND include rare stuff too. I expected too much perhaps, and will re-rate in a year or two. Perhaps by then they'll have filled out a bit more. read more
