I had a friend purchase a Kegorater, which is pretty exciting for anybody that enjoys draft beer so he called around looking for a Modelo keg for the Kegorater. He was having no success until he called total beverage. Total beverage said they had three of them in stock, and that he was welcome to come in and pick one of them up so he gets in his truck and drives over there only to be told by a female manager that those kegs are on hold for other people and he could not purchase one now that's not what he was told on the phone or else he would've not driven over there so after arguing and talking with another manager, he left without his keg ! NOW what bothers me the most is that the managers/people cannot communicate with each other to let each other know what is going on needless to say, won't return to total beverage... I feel Total Bev is due for an update. In the last year I have seen a dramatic improvement to not only their selection but to their prices. Additionally their customer service is top tier. I still shop here weekly and am asked if they can help me find anything or if I have questions 9 out of 10 times that I visit. This is hard to find nowadays and is appreciated. There are many nice mega liquor stores in the area, and this is one of them. I came across town to this one for a stock up because the other places really increased their prices. Yes, I shop liquor by who prices the lowest. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, the place is very modern and easy to shop. I cannot say there are any employees walking around to assist, but you can usually find someone walking by to point you in the right direction. Their low gondolas make it pretty easy to find what you're looking for. Bottom line is that it's a nicer, upscale liquor store. Good prices! Check them out! read more

I went in a while back to buy a bottle of Blanton's as a gift for a friend. I wasn't finding it on the shelf, so I asked for assistance. The employee literally smirked, looked me up and down and said unless I had made a certain amount of "significant purchases" in the past few months, he literally wouldn't sell it to me. He also didn't specify what constitutes a "significant purchase." Um. OK? I'll find it somewhere else, then. What's amazing is that the only reason I came here is because they previously had sold me a bottle and I signed up for their little brown "club card" that same day. I don't have wildly exotic or expensive tastes, though. And this place isn't the closest liquor store to me by a long shot. That's why the only reason I used to go here was to buy something special on rare occasions. Apparently this place has no interest in catering to that kind of customer. On top of that bizarre experience, on another occasion I was treated rudely by the checkout staff. While I was waiting for them to ring me up, the clerk, basically yelling, said "I NEED YOUR ID!!" Dude, ever hear of asking politely? I'm forty years old - not some high school kid trying to buy booze underage. Why do places like this always put the rudest employees in customer-facing roles? This guy should be unloading trucks in the back, not driving away customers up front. On the plus side, they do have an impressive selection of beer and spirits and reasonably decent prices. Unfortunately, they operate like some kind of exclusive, elite booze-based country club. The pretentiousness is surprising, especially considering they're in a strip mall across from an abandoned Hobby Lobby they share with a Wal-Mart. There's a lot of liquor stores out there. Their unaccommodating and rude staff has convinced me to shop elsewhere. This has been our go to store since moving up to Westy years ago. During COVID, it's become a godsend. They were probably the first store to establish and maintain good physical distancing, with winding lanes throughout the center aisle. We stopped by for a refill on cinco & It was pretty busy but the team was moving folks through in an orderly fashion. We've also used their app for online orders, which has been amazing. Making a delivery order online, sure they have what I asked for - payment goes through no issues to then revive a text to send them and I quote "amount charged after 1.99$ fee" (on top of 20$ in takes and tip!) to then get locked out of order (AFTERA receiving payment went through) because my amount wasn't correct. Ok no problem. Call store - whomever I spoke with was A rude and B then said "it's the amount your bank charges you the actual cents! Say what?! How stupid is that! I said thank you so much but please cancel order. HANGS UP ON ME Not cool but did receive a text saying order cancelled. Great place to pick up some serious bourbon or scotch. They have a good selection. I am into Japanese whisky lately and they had a few things I have not seen else where. The standard Suntory and Nikka are there. So, the normal Nikka Malt, Yamazaki, Hibiki are all there. But they also have the 15 , 17 and 18 yo. Those they keep in the locker. I picked up a Nikka Coffey Grain. I don;t see these everywhere and it was a decent deal at $75. A good place to pick up Japanese Whisky. read more

Good selection, but what hit me the most is, I was a having a conversation with an employee and they pay the employees minimum wage. This is unacceptable in my mind for such a big place and company. I love this place! As a frequent visitor of Colorado, I always stop by. The beer singles can be pretty pricey. However, if you buy a six-pack of mixed singles, you get 27% off, I believe. The craft beer selection is pretty great, and I could probably spend all day in here. They also have alcoholic ice cream and some snacks that would go perfectly with a night of drinking. Refused to sell me liquor because my license had just expired and was waiting for the new one in the mail. A license that does in fact still show my date of birth...1990 I'm 31 with gray hair. A license that in accordance with state law when paired with the receipt from the dmv is still a legal license until the new one comes in the mail. I've been shopping here for a while and today I had a VERY bad experience! I bought a beer at the cash register in front of the entrance and was asked by another worker at the entrance after I bought the beer if I had a receipt on my way out. Seriously?! A really awesome selection of wine. They clearly label what's on sale with tags that stick out along the walk down the aisles. So when I'm not wearing my glasses it's easy to find those wines to try. I'm also a bourbon girl, and I had a great discussion and experience talking to one of the employees about what to try and enjoy. I haven't looked into their beer selection personally, but in quick glances it looks massive. We have bought several kegs from here with great experiences as well. Employees have been kind enough to help me load kegs. Coming from New England, nothing beats the New Hampshire state liquor store. However total beverage comes pretty close! read more

We had a terrible experience after being extremely loyal customer for 7 years...no more. We are moving homes and have thousands of dollars in wine and booze from total liquor. We walked in tonight to make a purchase and ask how we can get some boxes with dividers for our move. Jordan who was very nice took me over to a box area and told me I could take a couple and come back after thanksgiving to get more. While I was picking out 2 boxes the night shift manager came over and shouted at me that I can't go through boxes, I tried to explained to her what I was doing and who had told me I could pick out boxes. She started SCREAMING out Jordan's name( that's the only reason I know her name). Told me I could not have boxes !! Then after I TRIED explained what I was doing she did give me a box but with no dividers (not much help). After my husband paid for purchase we could still hear manage screaming for and at Jordan after we left the building. A terrible experience over a Box!!! We will NEVER go back. Terrible experience, I was completely embarrassed.. Manager made me like I had come in to STEAL 2 dollars worth of cardboard!! Total Beverage is a great place to go when you're looking for a good selection of beer (and want to create your own 6 pack) or hunting for a good wine. Unfortunately that's where the positives of Total Beverage end. They are now ID'ing anyone who is an "accomplice" with you while purchasing liquor. That was exact terminology used to us while I was paying for the liquor but the pseudo hubby was just along for the strong arms. They insisted on seeing his ID and then taking it and scanning it without his consent. I understand that the draconian laws these days have no regard for personal privacy, but the cashier should've at least asked to scan it and had we declined, we'd have happily left the store as an alternative. I'll continue to support my neighborhood liquor store even more frequently now. Shame on Total Beverage. read more

Total Beverage is big. Really big. It's the size of an ordinary supermarket, dedicated entirely to demon alcohol. The beer selection is phenomenal and even includes a huge build-your-own-six-pack area. Wine selection is good but not particularly boutique. Spirits make up the smallest part of the store and while the selection is beyond your standard liquor retailer, there aren't any serendipitous surprises waiting for your discovery. Beer aside, selection is acceptable but frankly not what you'd expect given the size of the store. Prices are ordinary to low. Normally being the biggest liquor store in the area would earn Total Bev high praise from me were it not for the customer experience. Floor staff seem unable to explain their recommendations, aren't generally familiar with many items in the store, and don't go out of their way to help you. Cashiers, while friendly, carry out what earns Total Bev a negative review: they swipe all customers' drivers licenses with a magnetic strip reader, ostensibly storing (without your consent) your name, address, biometric information, drivers license number, and anything else on your DMV file. That's a massive and reprehensible invasion of privacy and no retailer ever has any business electronically reading information off an ID. The surprisingly modest selection, less than helpful staff, and data mining operation at the front of the store ruin what would otherwise be the perfect booze outlet for the lushes of Westminster. read more

This location has a good selection and decent prices, but the employees are terrible. They know nothing about alcohol, or the stock carried. I've heard them misdirect many customers to the wrong part of the store, say they don't have something that they do, etc. I've also had employees flat out not know basic alcohols or mixers, and just tell me they don't have it because they've never heard of it (shocker: they had it!). But mostly I haven't had a problem with this location because I know what I'm looking for and can locate what I want without help. This week was my final straw: I asked for something they were advertising in the mailer for Mother's Day. Multiple employees had no idea what this was and I was finally directed to the beer section (why would wine be with beer?? Surprise it wasn't there!). It is not ridiculous for me to expect you to know where the specials you're advertising are. I spent over twenty minutes wandering around and tracking down 3 employees, no one could help me. read more

A relatively new liquor store located in the strip mall mess around Sheridan & Hwy 36. The "A" in TOTAL is upside down (and a different color) on their sign, but as of yet I'm not aware of the significance. As with the other Total Beverages I've been to in Thornton and Ft. Collins (but again, none of these *appear* to be related), it's a big warehouse-style "everything you can think of to get you sloshed." They remind me a LOT of the location in Thornton primarily because of the way they have laid out the beer department. It's virtually identical, and the selections are very similar too. But, being a new location (at least I think so...certainly within the last year), *most* of the product is pretty new as well. Except in cases where the distributor still has old stock, which certainly happens, and can be seen on these shelves as well. But, I fear the same fate for the selection overall, as they have a lot of samples of beers that are doomed never to move. Beer buyers have to be pretty savvy in order to keep the right amount of all the various selections on hand. For example, it's probably not a good idea to buy five cases of Ukrainian lager. It's not going to sell out anytime soon. So, all in all, it's basically a carbon copy of my comments for the Thornton Total Beverage, with perhaps slightly less worry about old stock. Slightly. I didn't spend much time in the wine department, so can't comment on that. The liquor area is kind of small, but they do have a pretty nice arrangement. They even had some miniature bottles that I'd been looking for but never seen previously. A few interesting cognacs in the locked case, but nothing tooooo exotic. All in all a competent selection. Average prices, overall, if maybe just a tiny bit on the high side (note, I was using liquors as the basis of this comparison). I'd buy liquor elsewhere for this reason, unless they had a sale going on. read more

This is the place where my husband does not feel he is shopping. He can spend unlimited time here and even then I really have to work hard to get him out of here. Just like you would do with a kid in a toy or candy store! The best thing about this store is their pricing. Its cheaper to buy the booze here. They have a huge selections of wines from all over the world, Tequilas, Vodkas, whiskeys, micro-brews, ales from around the world (my fav is the Belgian Chemay ) and they also have the latest trendy stuff in mixes etc. I Like the fact that their wines have the Wine scores listed right in front. So i don't have to plan my shopping for wines beforehand. I just need to know what type of wine I want to buy and then land here to buy. If you get on their email listing, you will receive news about special discounts and also get to know about staff favorites etc. And yes you might want to take their membership card, which is free. read more
