This is on my home from work so it is easy to swing by. They have the little reward card so the last time I was in I saved $10.00 off my beer. I love beer, no I really do, I mean, I really love beer and they have lots of it here. I can't speak to the Sunday specials as I am never up that way on the weekend but they look like good deals. I have been receiving Total's weekly newsletter about their Sunday-only specials so I thought I would mosey on up to Westminster and check it out. Walked in and asked the clerk about the wine special. She gave me this look as if I was a complete idiot and told me that it was gone and that "people line up at 8 o'clock to get the wine deal". Her tone of voice implied: you are stupid. I think that if you advertise a Sunday special, it should mean all day Sunday and not only for the first few people in line an hour before store opening. Ignoring her insulting tone, we decide to check the place out. High prices and I did not see anything on sale. Zero help. I did not see one store person on the floor. I never did find the Portuguese wine section. (Now, I have to say that I am writing this review after departing Total (and buying zip) and going to Applejack. Good prices and great service. Do you shop at King Soopers?? If so, look at the BACK of your reciept: THERE ARE COUPONS FOR TOTAL BEVERAGE. Rock On. This location is my go-to spot for a huge selection of Wines (They have my favorite Sweet Marsala! Yay!) interesting beers (Okay, so there's one called "HeBrew"!! It's a gourmet, Kosher beer!! I can't believe that there's a huge demand for this in Colorado, but man, did it give me the giggles!! "HeBREW"?! Come on! That's Awesome!) and of course, Liquors and Liqueurs. Also, they often have some sample-party going on with new, fun items. Always clean, always well-lit with good parking all the time. This must be the cleanest store in Colorado. On top of that, the prices are surprisingly low, much lower than I thought they'd be. Friday night tastings are a good time...not many places around here you can find this kind of thing. I generally like this Total Beverage for it's decent selection and sales. There's always a decent assortment of sales and the staff is generally helpful. Pretty much the same as any other big liquor store around the Denver/Boulder area. I had an issue with a Super Sunday Special product being 2 months past it's "freshness" date, however. When I called for some clarification on this, the "wine manager' was rather rude and simply cut me off and said they wouldn't give me a refund. All I wanted was some answer on the importance of the date, but he simply assumed I wanted a refund straightaway. After that, I really did want one, but - as he repeated - I could not get one. A beer drinking friend of mine in SoCal recommended a Belgian beer that I had never even heard of (Delirium Nocturnum) but I had been to the Northglenn Total Beverage and knew what a huge inventory they had so I checked here. Yep, they had it and another variety from the same brewer (Brouwerij Huyghe is the brewer. The other beer was called Delirium Tremens. I only mention the names because I paid I think $10 or more per bottle and they were beyond my taste sensibilities to enjoy. I at least drank the Tremens, the Nocturnum turned my stomache (sic). They have a lot of booze+ in here and even though the prices are probably higher than smaller stores, this is probably one stop shopping for most alkies. I think the upside down "A" is supposed to be a glass half full? Dunno. read more

I love total beverage. I'm a beer snob, and this place is like my heaven. I have a hard time choosing between all the awesome micro brews and some of the more rare beers (like Sam smith's, which I can rarely find!). The beer prices are pretty good especially considering the quality. My fiancée was quite impressed with their top shelf liquor selection with reasonable prices. I will warn you tho, if the option ever arises to purchase a mystery 24pack for $15, DO NOT do it! It says "good quality guaranteed" but like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. This is a great liquor store, one of the best I have ever been in period. I used to live right down the street and came here all the time, I really miss it because all of the liquor stores in California are run by idiots and horrible in comparison. The best part of this store is that it doesn't feel like a corporate place at all, which the storefront and huge logo suggest. The wine mongors really know a lot and they can be really helpful is you ask. When I was going there one year ago there didn't seem to be any staff that was really into beer but hopefully that's changed. The beer selection is staggering and they always seemed to have a good micro on sale. It used to be a good place for belgians of all types and limited run specialty brews from all the microbreweries, I'm sure the selection is still pretty awesome I went to a couple events here where they had food samples from Westminster restaurants and wine and beer tastings, it was definitely worth the price of admission and if you get on the email list they'll send you coupons from time to time. It's way better than Superior Liquor and only a tiny bit worse than Liquor Mart in Boulder in terms of selection. I heard that Colorado finally got rid of the retarded ban on sunday sales so there's even more reason to hit this place up. In my quest to summon forth Happy, Animated Stephen more frequently (it may not be the only way to summon him, but booze *does* seem to be one of the most immediate), I finally caved in and went exploring at Total Bev tonight. I was tired and headachy when I arrived here. I didn't have a headache when I left -- and I hadn't even imbibed anything! :) a) Selection. What do you want? They've got it. Microbrews, mixers of all sorts, cups/shot glasses, trendy flavored vodkas, a slew of tequilas, absinthe of many kinds, 100-yr old whiskeys kept in a special case (probably with the portion of eternal youth somewhere as well, wouldn't surprise me ;), sake, champagne, small hideable booze flasks...this place has it all. It's big. They have numerical quality ratings posted in front of various choices of liquor and wine too, if such things matter to you. b) Membership card. You want this. It's free. Becoming a member will chop a significant percentage off your purchases, more than likely. I can't vouch for the beer side, wasn't my quest tonight, but the membership took about 15% off my hard booze total. Savings vary per product...and it's not on a linear scale -- you may see $5 off a bottle of Patron, and $18 off a $30 bottle of vodka. Pretty amazing. You can divulge your email addy or not to get the scoop on inside deals. And now with my new stock of Grey Goose, Patron and Baileys (life's too short to drink low-quality booze), I can host any of my friends here without having to fork over $6-10 a shot at various local patronages. They have the best selection of beer in the area, many available by the single bottle. I love to try out new beers, and this is my new place to go with a good variety of local, domestic and imports. Plus a knowledgeable and helpful staff. I also like Liquormart in Boulder for beer selection, but Total is my new favorite. Argonaut in Denver was a disappointment as far as beer selection goes. And they didn't have many singles outside of the bombers. read more

He said "I have absolutely no time" when a nice store associate called him over to help me a question I had On the online app. He thought he was only talking to her but I was right there. Very rude. The place is laid out better than Google maps, making your favorite wine, beer or fifth easier to find than Waldo. I can't say the prices are always the best, but when you use your rewards card (mine fits optimistically on my key chain), the savings add up. The beer selection is out of this world! I went to grab a couple six packs for a friend who requested "Boulevard Brewing, Kansas City" beer. I knew that Total Beverage would have it, I got a 4 pack of Tank 7 and a 6-pack of Boulevard's seasonal, Irish Ale. There happened to be a Boulder Beer rep there and since I put a bottle of Boulder Buff Gold in my mix n match six pack, she gave me a free Hazed & Infused too! First off, if you are looking for the cheapest way to get drunk this may not be your place, but if you are more of a connoisseur of fine alcohols, this could be your dream come true. Total Beverages selection of wines and liquors is extraordinary. Each and every wine or liquor that I was looking for, they had. But where Total Beverage really shines is in the Beer department. In the ever expanding craft beer market, high end and boutique beers are frequently difficult to find. Unlike wine in most liquor stores, which have rows and rows of fine wines, the high end beer selection is usually very limited, to a case or two. Total beverage in Westminster has the largest selection of high end beers that I have seen in this area. Form Barrel aged American selections, to rare Belgian quadruples, they have something for everyone. I am not going to say that they have each and every beer that we were looking for, no place seems to, but they come the closest. I haven't been here a lot, due to its location is not super convenient for us, but any liquor store that causes us to make a special out of the way trip to, must be a five star place, and this place is indeed. read more

Best beer selection around. It puts Daveco and Applejack's to shame. They have some very high quality beers and are always getting new beers into try. I have not spent much time in the liquor or wine departments (as I probably spend too much time in the beer section). I don't recall the gentleman's name that I usually run into in while I am shopping, but he has always been very helpful in suggesting new things to try. Its hard to beat the prices, selection, size and expertise this place has. Its like Costco for booze! The staff is super knowledgeable and way friendly. As a beer nerd from Minnesota, who happened to be staying at a hotel five minutes away, this place rocked the house. Total beverage is huge!! They have a large selection of everything! Extensive wine selection, very good craft beer selection(can make your own 6 packs) and very good spirits selection. The only problem I've had with coming in is it seems difficult sometimes to find knowledgeable help. When I need some direction in the wine or craft beer sections it's rarely delivered. This makes the store sometime seem overwhelming when trying new things. Their prices are almost always better than other smaller liquor stores. The fact that they have as large of a selection they do is one of the reasons I keep coming back! read more

This place has the best prices in the area (except maybe for Sam's Warehouse off of Federal). They have a huge selection of pretty much any type of booze/beer/wine that you can think of. My only complaint is that they have manufacturer and/or distributor reps that roam the store and act like they are employees trying to help. Then they try to steer you towards their product. The cashier was not very friendly, border line rude and seemed annoyed when I asked questions about beers they may or may not have in stock. She made me feel like I was a nuisance and not a valued customer. I spent over $200 on this visit but irregardless of how much one spends, every customer should be treated with respect. Her poor attitude was unprovoked as I was nothing but nice and respectful towards her. I am a total fan of their Sunday specials. You will need to sign up as a rewards member to partake in any of the store specials, but if you want to get notification of upcoming specials sign up for their email newsletter. Usually it is just a weekly email on Saturday evenings, with sometimes an extra during the football season. Staff has always been helpful when trying to make a new liquor, beer, or wine selection. It's a big store so sometimes it is nice to be directed to the right spot. read more

Total Beverage in more like Total Paycheck to me. I frequent this warehouse style liquor store at least once a week. It has a large selection of beer, wine, and spirits comparable with Applejack, Tipsy's, Argonaut, and Daveco. When the Super Sunday Specials are good, we stock up. If they are great, plan on getting there early. For the most part, the prices are competitive. They do run weekly specials, and they do have a loyalty program. A great unintended consequence of this place operating is that the other smaller stores will match Total Beverage's sale price. In my experience, Applejack's prices are better on spirits. The prices are about the same on wine. But, Total Beverage has a much better selection of beer -- kegs included. Pick your poison! read more

I actually laughed at the one where someone was mad that their ID was expired and her friend conveniently also left hers in the car. Sure. Lol. So, if you go here, specifically ask about their rewards program, because they won't tell you about it automatically if you aren't already on it. While I was super excited at the low price ($17.99) on a PBR 30-pack, I was disillusioned as I put the receipt into our records a couple days later. We were charged $22.99!! $5 more! My husband took the receipt in and was told that we didn't get the Rewards card price because we didn't have a Rewards card. The manager said the cashier should have asked if we had a card and we agreed that we had been asked. However, it was not made clear that a higher price would be charged if we did NOT have the card. And, he said, "there's nothing I can do about it now". Though my husband didn't say it to the guy, we will NOT be back. Really felt like we were conned with their shelf tag. Live and learn I guess. We haven't shopped here too much but when we need to buy a large bottle of Bulleit Rye or Tito's the prices have been decent and comparable to Mollys. I haven't had the customer service issues that others have mentioned. The lines can get long but they usually have a fair # of cash registers open. They do tasting events on Friday nights, I believe at 4pm. This place is a good stop when you need to buy multiple types of liquor and don't want to run around all over. read more

I've been to Total Beverage a dozen or so times and my husband has shopped there, regularly. Today we stopped in after picking up some groceries to get a bottle of wine and a six pack of beer. While we were waiting in line, the cashier told the customers in front of us (who she seemed to know) about a party she had last night where everyone got drunk and how they had hangovers today, etc. It was an unprofessional conversation, but not a huge deal, just slightly annoying because it lengthened their transaction time. When it was our turn she asked my husband for his ID card and then asked for mine. I commented on the fact that she hadn't ID'd the previous people. She immediately went on the offensive and said that they had their ID's out so she didn't need to ask for them (not true.) I said "Okay" and handed her my card. She then leaned towards me and asked if I had a problem. I didn't answer because I was shocked at her aggressive posture and tone. My husband asked her why she was speaking to me that way and why she was being rude. She was more aggressive in her attitude so we said, okay, just let us pay and go. She then said she couldn't sell to us, today. We decided to go the next register and then call the manager after we had left the store to tell them about our unpleasant interaction. Things were going well with the second cashier. It was all smiles until the manager came running up to us to tell us that showing our ID's was the law. We said, of course, we know that to be the case and that the problem was the cashier's attitude not showing her our ID's. He didn't seem to care in the slightest what our version of events might be. He stuck up for the cashier 100% BEFORE hearing from us. My husband asked if the cashier could deny service to people just because she didn't like them and the manager said "Yes"!!!! Things devolved from there ending with the manager sarcastically stating that he "hoped" we'd be back. So, that's the customer service you can expect at Total Beverage. I thought it wasn't great, before. Now, I think it's reprehensible. In addition to everything that stunk about that interaction, I'd like to know why my ID as a guest of the customer was scanned into the system without my permission. read more
