Absolutely terrible experience with Broadway Total Power. I brought in a brand-new Honda commercial mower for a simple RPM adjustment. Instead of fixing it correctly, the mechanic bent the governor arm, which caused the engine to redline and made the situation worse than when I brought it in. That's not a minor mistake--that's careless work on a new machine. Then I was told I'd have to pay a $40 diagnostic fee, even though the mower is still under warranty. That felt like an attempt to charge for something that shouldn't have been billed in the first place. What's worse is that management didn't take responsibility or show any real interest in fixing the issue. Between the poor workmanship and questionable billing practices, I would strongly recommend taking your equipment somewhere else. This place is not trustworthy. read more

We brought our snow blower in in July to get it tuned up and a sheer pin fixed, auger cover replaced. Thought it was plenty of time before it snowed! They did not get back to us for 2 months. I had to call to check on it. Kept calling and calling, couldn't find it. Stopped by the store 4 times. Twice their computers were down so they couldn't even tell us where it was or what had been done to it if anything. Finally in October they found it and said they would now get the parts needed. We got it back in November. It still doesn't work and they can get it in but it will be 2 -3 weeks out. Horrible service. No pride in their work. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS. They don't care of they get it back to you or not. They were not concerned when I told them it still didn't work nor offered to get it in quickly since we had such a hard time trying to get them to fix it. read more

This place is so unprofessional and lame. We took a mower in for repair 4 weeks ago and were told it would be about 3 weeks. When we called to find out the status we were told it would be another week. When we called back, we were told the mower was too old to fix or find parts for; no diagnostics, no nothing, just can't fix it, period. So we were without our mower for a month and they didn't have the courtesy to give us that news before that? We will never go to this place again and wouldn't recommend them to our worst enemy. It is a terrible place to invest your money. I sent my son to buy a lawn mower tire. One of the salesmen took his information and told my son that the machine had a warranty. He should take the machine. He took it to the store. They were also told that the machine damaged the belt. They said it had a warranty and that they would check it after two weeks that they made me wait. They sent me a message that it was ready. My son went to pick it up. It had the same damaged tire and they had a bill for more than $260. He complained and they just wouldn't honor the warranty. I called them to speak to the manager. He yelled at me on the phone and ended up hanging up on me. Very rude. My point is, they made me waste my time and work. I ended up paying for a machine that they sold me with a three-year warranty and invested more than $15,000 in equipment in this store so that they end up treating you badly and yelling. Pretty worthless unless you want to walk in an buy something and don't have a single question about it. Then you need to actually get someone to come out and talk to you. Place is staffed by 20 somethings, something tells me there isn't a lot of experience in the staff. One would think a place called Total Power that advertises generators would know something about using them. I ask for transfer switch and you'd suspect I'd made it up. Poor service. Don't use them if you are not commercial. I sense they take care of their commercial customers. They really don't like retail business and their reps show it when they talk to you. I used them 3 times in the last year. 1) expect your work to take several weeks before they look at it (and then more if they need to order parts) 2) you will need to call them several times to advance through each step of the process. 3) get a receipt and customer number, their book-keeping is disorganized and they will lose track of your stuff. 4) if they say they will call you back, they won't. Not once. 5) if you press you will get attitude. They most definitely don't value their customers nor feel an obligation to treat them with respect and responsiveness. They had my equipment for a month, I called 12 times. 7 times they promised to call back and they did not. I scheduled pickup twice and they didn't take care of their work. Logistical nightmare. We have used Broadway Total Power on many occasions for servicing our snow blower and lawn mower. They have always done a nice job, however, it take quite a while for them to service, unless it is an off season. I want to point out to potential customers our last experience with them. We purchased a used snowblower from a friend, who had it stored up north at a storage facility. The facility was out of the range of their normal pick up service. At first, Total Power thought they could pick up the unit, bring it to their facility for servicing, then bring it to our house (within their normal pick-up range) and just charge us $100 for the extra distance. We thought that was fair. The storage facility could not find the snowblower until two weeks later. When I finally called them back to see if Jim could still pick up the snow blower and deliver it to the store, he jacked up the price to $150!!! Why? I asked. His answer? Because the store was now busy with servicing lawn mowers and basically did not need my business. Jim mentioned that it was over a month since he quoted that. It was only two weeks later. Yes, they have they have every right to charge more if they need to; however, how is that customer service?? I was pretty outraged. I told him that I would not have them pick it up then if it was going to be $150 and I would just call Big Tool Box, to which Jim responded rather rudely, "well, go ahead then". It was good of them to even consider picking up the unit, but not to honor a price from 2 weeks before? To me, that shows they have no regard for the customer-only that they have enough business coming in. My response? To tell ALL my friends NOT to use them (whereas before I always recommended them) and certainly I will never use them again. We have used them for years and they just lost a good customer. I definitely expected better. I waited to hear back regarding timing of parts arriving for our plow purchase and install. I was told we could schedule for the 6th. The ball was dropped on their end and parts were not ordered, nor were we put on the schedule. Voicemail boxes were full when I called over the weekend. I continued texting Eric who was helping me. I never received a response after our Friday prior conversations. I called today and the soonest they can get me in now is the 18th. The whole reason we were going to go with them was because they could get us in this week (not 2 week's from today). They did nothing to remedy the situation. I left my new string trimmer there for a carburetor cleaning due to some bad gas (it had less than 30 hours on it total). It was there about a week. I picked it up and paid $100 and proceeded to my jobsite and it did not run at all. Previously, it had always run like a champ. They had obviously not run it since it would only idle and would die under any throttle. This is an 80 mile round trip for me, so I am disgusted by this service. This incident cost me hundreds of dollars since I have employees without tools after waiting a week to catch up. Shame on Broadway Total Power for this lack of Quality Assurance. Bringing it back is another waste of hours of my time driving into Denver from the mountains to have them do the work they should have performed initially. I recommend you avoid this place. There were at least 6 employees hanging around without any customers, yet nobody had the time to start this engine when I picked it up and demonstrate how it was functioning. As a professional property manager I will look elsewhere to buy and service all my tools. time is money and BTP is a time sink for sure. This is not the place to help you. read more

We've been in landscaping for over 20 years and have used Alamia, Broadway and Colorado Outdoor for the last 13 or so. This location is closest to our business and most convenient but for many years it was worth the drive to Colorado Outdoor because the level of service was so poor. We were hopeful after the owner of Alamia purchased the other two, but nothing has improved. It would be easier to handle if at least one side of the business was great - service or sales but in all reality both are tremendously lacking. We've taken equipment in for repair only to be back the very next day because it broke again. If this was an isolated incident, I could understand but it's a consistent problem. If I had a dollar for every moronic and inappropriate conversation I've overheard between employees I'd not have to work this hard! Today's topic was how one kid called out on the first day of another job because it was 4/20. Work, gain some life skills and become a productive member of society or ditch and get high - an obvious choice, don't you think?!?! We've complained over the years about a variety of issues and management's solution is to berate the employee and not address the core problem. They've got a green light to operate like this because they really are the only game in town. As much as I'd like to wash my hands of Broadway Total Power I can't - often times, buying parts online isn't a timely option. read more
