What isn't to love about this place? Every time you walk in, it's like you're walking into a toy store. Sean, Mike, and Manni are always there to greet their customers. There's never any waiting for them to help you if they are free. Parts are almost always in stock, and Sean is literally a walking encyclopedia of parts. If they don't have something, they find it within minutes, and get you the part in days. Keeping you in business! Not to mention they are good to their customers and no matter who you are, they always find a way to get you out of your shell and engaged in conversation. After making 6 calls (Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, John Deer, All Season Rental, Sears,) my 7th was to Alamia. I had never heard of this place, but I called because I had already called everywhere else. When you've asked for the same thing on 6 other calls, you sound a bit rehearsed. So skeptically I called and recited what I needed for the 7th time. I was met with a response I did not expect; "sure we got 30 of those". Thank goodness I was sitting down in my car because I probably would have fallen over had I been standing. Pulled up directions and I was on my way. I was running short on time before they closed and had gotten a request for an additional purchase while I was there. I called back and spoke with Thomas again; he was great the first time and just as great the second. It's a small place, tucked away on Wabash street right off Iliff. They have pretty much everything you need for yard tools. Mowers, chainsaws, stuff, stuff and more stuff. I didn't take much opportunity to look around as they were close to closing and someone was waiting on the chain. I did notice that they sharpen chainsaw chains and saw blades. It was a whirlwind visit because I was in and out in moments literally. Now that I have this place on my radar, I am sure I can find a TON of things there I would absolutely have to have for whatever reason to take care of the yard. Just purschsed two (2) STIHL BR450 backpack blowers from Alamia and am extremely happy with my purchase. I also have a BR800C which is my dedicated fall cleanup blower. The BR450 is by far the best blower for the money from any manufacturer. Incredible power and a true 2 cycle machine form STIHL. The power reminds me of the BR600. As a loyal customer of well over 15 years I must say everyone has been great to work with. I do this professionally and it's nice to know the support is there from such a knowledgeable staff. Spoke with the store personally about the Little Wonder Blower I needed. They assured me I could just order it online with my PayPal and I would be good to go. I hung up with sales associate and ordered my blower. I went out of town, expecting my blower would be waiting upon my return. I received an email cancelling with no explanation. I called, and they said "interesting" as to how it was on site. They were not concerned that they put my schedule way off, since i need to scramble to find a unit for project. offered nothing to compensate me for my inconvenience at their mistake, I have lost time and money now. No concern for customers.. beware of their online order system. I feel they did not want to ship or something.. no clue, avoid them and do not order online. BUYER BEWARE! After my experience with Alamia Inc. last week, I had to write a review to warn the public. I went online to find a replacement blade for my 20+ year old Snapper mower. Every year I buy a new blade for the mower. As always, I referred to the mower's manual for the correct part number for the replacement blade. I found an online listing from Alamia Inc with a replacement mower blade they claimed would work on my mower (the OEM part # for my mower was in the subject of their listing). So I placed the order online for the part. The total amount was $19.95. I was excited to receive my order because 4th of July weekend was coming up and I wanted the yard to look great for the party we were having. I install the new blade like numerous times before, and started the mower up. Everything seemed fine until I started cutting the grass - that's when I hear this awful metal rubbing sound. I immediately verified the usual stuff that could possibly cause the problem, such as, the blade installed firmly and in the correct direction. I also checked to make sure the crankshaft wasn't bent. Everything as far as the mower was correct. The blade is either defective or listed incorrectly. I decided to take the part directly to their store versus paying to ship the part back. I met with Sean Francis, who told me that they would not take the part back because it was used. I explained that the part was listed by them online as a replacement for my mower. He told me if I provided proof that the part was listed incorrectly, he would be happy to exchange it (I soon learned that he said that just to get me out of the store--he had no intentions of correcting the problem). So, I got home and emailed Sean Francis the proof he requested (a picture of my mower with the model number, owner's manual, and a pdf of the original listing). A little while later I called Sean Francis. His behavior on the phone was completely different from what I had experienced with him in person. He told it was against their company policy to return used parts--period. The only thing they were willing to do was send the part back to the manufacture but they would not refund, credit, or exchange the part until they heard back from the manufacture. Actually, his rude words were "I will not give you a blade for free". If I wanted the correct blade to cut my lawn that day, I would have to buy another one from them. No, thank you! I'm not losing any more money to Alamia Inc. As the saying goes "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on ME! P.S. I was able to finally get my lawn cut. I took my old blade to a local place Agency Vac. They didn't have a replacement blade for my mower (would have to order it), but they did sharpen my old blade so I could get my lawn cut before company came for the weekend. Agency Vac will have all my future business because they care about their customers. read more

If you live near Alamia and do not have to rely on them shipping a product to you then this review can be ignored. I live 2000 miles away and I chose to buy my chainsaw at Alamia because of good reviews that I read. After just receiving my saw I my opinion of Alamia is extremely low. The saw arrived in its original box but as soon as I lifted up I could hear and feel that everything was loose inside. Upon opening the box my fears were confirmed. The box was opened by Alamia before shipment in order to add the proper size bar and chain as well as an additional chain that I ordered. But the original cardboard or Styrofoam that was used to secure the saw from moving in the box was not replaced so the entire content of the box including the bar wrench collided during the five days it was being shipped. This is beyond unacceptable, especially for a company with a significant online customer base. Also, someone had to sign for the delivery or it would not be dropped off. It was just by luck that I was home when it arrived. I am not sure how many people have the luxury of being home all day to wait for a package, but most people do not. I suggest that anyone who is considering ordering an expensive saw (mine was $539) to consider finding a local authorized dealer. You will pay a bit more but you will get a saw that has been secure in its original box since it left the factory. That dealer would never treat you or your saw that way Alamia treated me. And by the way, if you are interested in how interested Alamia is in customer satisfaction, it is now one week since I informed them of my experience and I have not heard a word. read more
