I lived at Broadway Place (North) from 2015 through 2018 and overall enjoyed my experience there. The good - even though it has been a while since I lived there I'm sure the main things have not changed. The indoor courtyard area was always peaceful to come home to. Recycling convenient. The location in downtown Eugene and proximity to work and fun restaurants and bars was the main reason I lived there. Blocks away from a ton of entertainment options. Always felt safe in my apartment day and night. My apartment faced the street so while some street noise (loud cars, night time drunk crowd, weekday AM leaf blowers) was expected it was not that bad - A box fan or a white noise machine should help. Maintenance and the office staff were helpful when I needed assistance or something needed to be fixed. The bad - The property seemed to go through a couple different property managers during the time so I cannot speak to who owns the property now or how much value renters now receive for what they pay. I also parked in the underground city-owned garage and my car was broken into once (nothing valuable taken). Otherwise I had no issues with parking. When I lived there - there was no air conditioning in the units (but they had options to pay extra to rent AC). Sometimes, randomly, the LOUDEST fire alarm would just go off in your apt at like 1AM or 7AM until the fire department comes by and turns it off. Overall had some great years living there and recommend to anyone new to the city. read more

This is the perfect home. Now with new owners, living here is even better. We just renewed our lease on an apartment that is much more than comfortable. Broadway Place is not a cookie cutter complex. In fact there are two great looking buildings across the street from each other. Apartments are set on the second and third floors. When you come off the elevator to the residence level you step into an extremely pleasant mini-neighborhood set off from the outside world with fountains, ponds and attractive landscaping. The variety of apartment layouts make you easily forget this is an apartment complex. The designers made sure each home is filled with brightness, space and good amenities. New owners are making sure each apartment is kept up to date with appliances, energy efficiency and whatever is needed. A place this nice draws nice neighbors and we have many. As an older person I like the mixture of grad students, hi-tech workers, young couples and folks of my generation. To make all of this work you must have a marvelous staff. Broadway Place has the best crew on the West Coast. Calls for maintenance are answered quickly. The office staff is friendly and wonderful. I could go on. I really like living here. So much I've persuaded several others to make a move to what I feel is Downtown Eugene's best living option. read more

I've been living here for about three weeks now, and I love it. It's really cool that I get to live downtown, and since I work downtown, I'm only two blocks to work! Update: I started writing this, but I forgot to send it. It turns out Yelp! Saved my post. So, I've lived here 4 months now, and I'm still very happy with it. It's been very comfortable which is great given the stay at home order. It's quieter than I expected living downtown. We haven't had to call maintenance for much, but even with the quarantine, they came right away. Our neighbors are quiet and a good mix of friendly/minding their own business. read more

My husband and I love living here. These apartments are right downtown, but due to the fabulous terrace, it feels like we are living in a beautiful oasis- a part of the city scape but also removed (very cool-the best of both worlds). This is my first Spring in Eugene, and coming outside of my apartment, I get to see all the beautiful flowers and plants that the other tenants are growing. It's quite magical.Gabriel and Peter are quick to respond to any questions (both are very nice and accommodating) and every tenant I have met has been incredibly kind. Broadway place apartments is by far the best place I've EVER lived! I recently moved from LA to Eugene and began my apartment search. When looking for an apartment my number one priority was safety. As a single woman in my 20's living on my own for the first time I wanted to make sure I found a place where I felt comfortable and secure at night. Broadway place apartments checked that box. The apartment complex has multiple gated entrances that require a pin code for access. It is in the heart of downtown and although there are homeless people who walk by from time to time, I have never felt unsafe. The next item on my check list was finding a place that was pet friendly (because I have a one year old, high energy, 65lb dog),which Broadway place apartments is! Most apartments that allow pets call themselves "pet friendly" but broadway place apartments truly is! they go above and beyond! My first couple of weeks living there Gabriel, the leasing office manager, noticed I had the same breed of dog as some of the other residents and asked if I would be interested in having puppy play dates with them. Another way in which broadway place apartments is super pet friendly is that even Bill, the head of maintenance, carries dog treats around with him. My dog gets so excited to see him, sits immediately, and waits for his treat! The next item on my list in search of an apartment was cleanliness. When touring some other apartments downtown I was completely disgusted. I mean, I saw some really really dirty shitholes! Broadway place apartments is super clean. From the outside of the complex to the courtyard to the units themselves. I would give them and A+ rating in cleanliness. The last thing I was looking for was location. I was recently hired at a company downtown and looking for a place close to my work. As I mentioned earlier Broadway place apartments is located in the heart of downtown and for me conveniently walking distance from my new job. Another benefit of its prime location is that the complex is walking distance from many restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. It's is also located right next to the public library. After I found everything I was looking for at broadway place apartments, the thing that makes them stand out the most and the reason I signed my lease and quickly as possible was the management team. Gabriel and Peter are truly the best! I called Peter every singe day probably the first two weeks with every question that popped into my head and multiple times since then. Every single time I was met with a super friendly and positive attitude Overall I couldn't have found a better place to live! I promise I wasn't paid for this review! I just love this place that much. My neighbors are awesome and everyone is really friendly. I honestly feel like Broadway Place Apartments is a community I am so glad to be apart of. read more

My wife and I rented at Broadway Place Apartments (managed by Lorig Management Services) for 1.5 years. After we moved out, the apartment complex withheld most of our refundable security deposit, claiming that there was a brown carpet stain that cost $230 to remove! Needless to say, our carpet was spotless with no stains. But it got worse... I sued in small claims court trying to recover my deposit money, and Broadway Place Apartments sent three employees (Manager Elizabeth Scott, leasing consultant Stacey, and some maintenance guy) who LIED UNDER OATH in court that there was a carpet stain! I was stunned that their employees would lie in front of the judge under oath over such a small amount. I really wish I had pictures of the apartment taken prior to moving out to disprove their lies. Do not expect to get you money back from Broadway Place... these folks will lie and cheat to screw you over. I strongly recommend not renting from any property managed by Lorig (see the full list of properties they manage at http://www.lorig.com/m_residential.htm ) because of their dishonest practices. read more

I wish Yelp had an option to give zero stars. Describing my experience here as a nightmare, doesn't do enough to describe my situation. If you want common amenities like a gym, air conditioning or a pool -- don't live here. If you want a quiet, peaceful environment with little noise from the outside -- don't live here. If you want to live in a safe neighborhood where you can feel secure when coming home after dark -- you guessed it, don't live here. In two years living here I had to file 2 police reports. On two separate occasions, I was violently accosted by men who appeared to be high on drugs. The Windows on my car were broken and the folks in the office offered nothing more than a terse, "that's too bad." The noise from the outside is horrific, especially if you work or go to school later in the day and want to sleep past 8 AM. Many times I witnessed people urinating on the building, people sleeping under the stairwells on the rear of the building and on some nights when it was raining, people camping out in the elevator lobby. The management offers no security, instead blaming the problems on the city. I've felt safer while living in places like Downtown Los Angeles and San Francisco. For the amount of money this place charges, you should get a lot more. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. read more

The one and only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the staff in the front reception area was very nice. Specifically the manager really did try and do her best. Now let's get to the real reason of this review. I migrated to Eugene from San Francisco about a year ago. Before I moved here I came to town and went apartment hunting. After looking at several places I decided to go with the Broadway Place Apartments because of their downtown location. I really like the center courtyard. Ok flash forward, I get to Eugene and get all my stuff moved in. I go to sleep for my first night in the apartment and come to find out the walls are literally paper thin to the outside of the building. The entire perimeter of the building has a major homeless problem. Especially the alley that is near the WoW hall. On my first night trying to go to sleep there I realized that the alley way was a major passageway for drunk and homeless people. I literally could not get one wink of sleep that night. I took a video of the belligerent mobs in the alleyway and provided it to the management. They said that they would try and do something about it. It was suddenly clear that they had already known about the problem in the alleyway. I'm sure that's why the person vacated my unit in the first place. So to get to the bottom of this I was now locked into a lease on an apartment that has paper thin walls to an alleyway with major noise problems. I had no warning of it whatsoever and there was no way for me to change it at this point. I was stuck with this place and they knew what they had gotten me into. This was just the beginning of my problems in the Broadway Place Apartments. Every time I would go down onto the street I would get harassed by belligerent or crazy street people. I felt very unsafe around the building all of the time. In fact the crazy thing of it all is the city of Eugene has put a portable sanitation use unit in the back alley because there are so many street people around there. I'm amazed that they can charge a premium for an apartment like this with such major street problems right outside your front door. At least they could warn you about these problems or make you slightly aware of it when they show you the apartment in the middle of the day when none of these people are around. Next in the parking garage underneath. You would think your car would be safe in there supposedly secured parking garage but that is not the case. My car was broken into with nothing left inside of it. Yes that's right broken into in the supposedly secure parking garage. Again major crime problems at the Broadway Place Apartments. To add flame to the fire all the supposedly new finishings inside the apartment were installed with haste. After closer inspection there were so many errors in the paint and the fixtures looked good at first sight but I did some research and they were the absolute lowest quality shiny fixtures they could purchase. I have some advice for this place, when renting a premium apartment you might want to put in premium fixtures and some insulation in the walls. And let's not forget one key point here, they do not have air conditioning for the upper floor units. I was not there in the summer but talk to us some of the other tenants were locked into leases and they said that it gets terribly hot in the upper units. You have been warned. I was over this place. I wanted to move immediately. I went and asked the front office staff if I could pack up and leave after just two weeks of being in this hell hole. They let me know they would talk to the ownership and see if I could be let out of my lease. I did some more research on this place in the meantime and found out that there have been MANY other people in similar situations and that the owners never let them out of their lease and in fact charge them astronomical cancellation fees. At this point I could see the racket that was going on and I knew what was in store for me but I figured I would try anyway. I pleaded with the front desk and let them know my entire situation. They were very cordial to my face but the outcome was not so fine. They let me know that if I did move out I would be charged several thousand dollars for early lease termination. But really I had no choice because I'm a business person and need to sleep so I started to pack my bags and left with in just a few days. I now live in one of the wonderful, peaceful and recently built apartments that Eugene has to offer. Now there are so many better places than the Broadway Place Apartments these days when you take some extra time and look around. I learned the hard way and the costly way. Let me start off with really friendly people!! But.... IF for any reason there MIGHT break your lease...DO NOT rent from here!! If you had a savings for a rainy day activity you just spent it. I knew what I was getting into if I chose to break my lease I thought... A whopping $1500 for lease break.. What I diddent know was the concession reimbursement clause. Ended up paying another $900 . $2500 to get out alive.. Think about it!! read more

The location can't be beat. Three blocks from the Hult Center, two from the library, walking distance to UO, many fine restaurants in the area, and an excellent bakery just across the street. The staff is excellent. Friendly, efficient, both office and maintenance. The apartments are secure, management has been updating units as they're vacated (over the last year of my experience), reasonably sized and priced. There is a lack of AC (my one complaint). You're expected to obtain a portable unit if you want one. The population at Broadway Place is active and eclectic: oldsters, students, young professionals - and their pets. Overall, a very positive experience! read more

I moved into a studio apartment with my boyfriend last winter. What made us choose to live here was the courtyard, and The newer looking apartments. We were offered an 11 month lease or a 12 month lease, naturally we wanted to stay here as short as possible because let's be real, it's overpriced, and not our ideal place to live. The first few nights I hardly slept because it turns out even when the windows are closed you can still hear people outside yelling and getting into fights on the street. 1. The next few months our rent was way over what we were promised it would be, for what, the garbage shoot that everyone shares? This has continued until the last few months of us living here. I just feel like they're trying to get the most out of our pockets while we are here. We were also given a notice that we had to pay extra money one time, when I asked why all I got was, "Everyone has to do it." 2. At one point there were people I knew for a fact weren't residents getting into the building (we have codes), and one time there were people camped out by our cars in the parking garage. Bikes were being stolen from the bike room that has a code. 3. We had to buy an expensive air conditioning system because there is no air conditioning and being on the top floor during a scorching summer isn't really safe. 4. Parking garage, and expensive parking passes. It's hard leaving your car anywhere in Eugene and feel safe about it, but for a while we felt kind of okay about ours being in the parking garage. Then we noticed cars with smashed windows that had gotten broken into, and random people parking in the garage and scraping other people's cars. There must have been complaints because the manager made an effort to get security (I only see the security about once a week though). Well, my boyfriends car got broken into and they took everything. Of course there weren't any security guards around, and the manager won't put in security cameras. We wanted to break our lease but we didn't want to spend thousands in order to do so. So we stuck it out and although I'll miss being conveniently located to restaurants and in walking distance to campus, and I'll miss the friendly front desk workers, I'm looking forward to moving out. read more

I lived in 2 different apartments at Broadway Place. I thoroughly enjoyed both my studio and my 1 BR with separate den. It was a wonderful experience and I have literally only positive things to say. The living space is all elevated above street level and the terrace area is quiet and pretty. The downtown location is great for walking to everything. The friendly and courteous staff always greets you with a smile, friendliness, and professionalism. This includes both the office and maintenance staff. They take care of any issues instantly. They receive packages securely. The apartments are spacious, clean and modern, in great condition, and reasonably priced. Many include street facing balconies or terrace patios. The terrace level is accessed by stairs or elevator which are both secured behind locked gates with codes that are regularly changed. Ample parking is available in the parking garage and parking passes are available at a discount from what the city charges for the same pass. It's pet friendly which was important to me, but also there aren't pets wondering all over if you're not into them. You're free to hang pictures, paint, etc., and if you leave with any of your modifications in place, it's no big deal. They just charge you a fair price to reset it back to original condition, within reason of course. The ceilings are high and the noise level is low. I thoroughly enjoyed living here and still would be if life hadn't pushed me in a different direction. If its ever an option, that's where I'll be moving back to. read more

I can't fully express the utter misery in my life because of this apartment complex. They moved us into a leaking, damaged, dirty apartment without any kind of warning about the problems that they were fully aware of and admitted to knowing about when we learned (the hard way, when they pressure washed the building and everything near our windows was drenched) what was wrong. The location if fine if you don't mind the horrible noise (again, no warning about paper thin walls all throughout) or the rising crime. But we stuck through our lease as long as we could, even with the problems. Unfortunately as we moved out we paid to break lease a little early, we left the place cleaner than when we moved in, and now we are being charged just under two thousand dollar for damages which weren't properly explained to us before they thought it prudent to ship the bill off to a debt collector. A month after we have moved out and we are being hounded by debt collectors for this outrageous bill that makes no sense to us. We are fighting this bill and we are appalled at what this place had the nerve to do. Not once did they try to call either of us to settle this and since they didn't wait until the bill was even due I'm not going to feel bad about pursuing legal action. The only thing that really makes me mad about all of this is that I'm probably not going to be able to rent places I want to because of this nonsense. read more
