We were traveling through Burns and hoped on Yelp to find a nice place to eat lunch. The only 5 star restaurant was closed so we tried The Broadway Deli that had 4 stars. The dining area is very small. You have to order from the counter. My husband ordered the grilled ham & cheese on sourdough. It was a very small sandwich. They used a thin slice of American cheese and the ham was cold! I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich on 5 grain bread. My sandwich was also small. It was mostly made up of greens, but had a fair amount of turkey. I had to open the sandwich to see if it really had avocados on it! We walked out having spent over $20 for two of the worst sandwiches we have ever eaten! You are better off to go to Subway in Burns! read more

Awesome little deli that most people would probably pass by driving through town. This place has KILLER homemade sandwiches. My favorite was the Highlander (house special). If you work on broadway it's just a quick 5min walk to the deli! great location and great service all around! My husband and I found this place on Yelp when we were passing through they area. The rating was pretty good so we thought it was a safe bet. (My travel eating has gotten so much better since I started using Yelp!) I will start out by saying that the food was very good. I had a club sandwich and he had one of their specialty sandwiches (can't remember the name but it had ham and turkey on a house made roll). The ingredients were plentiful and high quality. They had several baked goods that we didn't try but they looked great too. The prices were maybe on the spendy side but it didn't seem like price gouging. On the not so good side; the establishment overall could use a good de-cluttering and tidying up. There was an odd decorative streamer hanging on the ceiling, toothpaste and toothbrush in the bathroom, and other bits and pieces that weren't a big deal on their own, but when added together, really took away from the professional, deli experience of the place. read more

The food was good, but this place left a lot to be desired. I asked for fresh veggies instead of chips and got two small carrot slices and two small celery slices. The sandwich was homemade size, but cost a steep $10.95. Flavor was good, probably 3.5 stars, but on overall experience I dropped points for the food being overpriced, for the old decor, and for the unnecessary wait (it took 20 minutes for 3 sandwiches and no one was in front of us). read more

This is a great little place! We were staying out at Crane Hot springs and some other guests recommended this cafe so we went there for a piece of pie and some tea. There were 4 pies to choose from and they looked beautiful and lovingly handmade- like prize-winning state fair pies. They also had cobbler, brownies and sweet rolls plus coffee, tea and espresso drinks to go with your desserts. I noticed homemade yeast and sandwich rolls which looked like the kind my grandmother would make on special occasions. Wine shop next door also looked very nice. Definitely worth a trip when you are in the area! read more

This place is wonderful- don't miss it if you're stopping or passing through town. Everything we had was delicious, reminds me of my Grandmother's cooking. Everything is made from scratch, except for the meat. One of the specials that day was veggie soup that was made that morning and the veggies appeared to be from the garden and tasted that fresh too! Delish! We had French dips, chicken salad sandwich, and PB&J's for the kids. A little old lady sitting across from us bought the kids all some cookies, oatmeal cranberry walnut that had just been taken out of the oven, and since the kids weren't big fans, we bought them brownies.. Which were more like dense, rich, chocolate cake... All of it was so good! Go there! read more

We stopped in for a quick lunch. Shared the turkey avocado sandwich with homemade potato salad. Both were excellent. The owner had just taken out a pan of bread pudding from the oven and brought us a complimentary sample for us to try. Just suffice it to say I wanted to lick the plate when I was done. The tortellini soup was a bit bland but otherwise the food was outstanding. The people were very friendly and made you feel like you were at home. Love the small town spirit. We stopped in for breakfast the other day while on a long road trip and it was very good - the owner was there by herself and had lots of other customers, but she was juggling everything just fine. Once the place cleared out, she sat down and chatted with us about the town's history and the beautiful building that houses the deli. Very interesting! But the best thing was the pie, which we got to go and ate later on the road. The marionberry was fabulous! Make sure you get a piece. read more

Had a wonderful lunch with my teenage daughter at this cute deli. Our sandwiches were delicious. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. We also indulged in desserts. She had pie and I had carrot cake. Just stoped at Broadway deli in Burns on our drive from Sunriver, Oregon to Boise, Idaho and we're really glad we did! We ordered a couple of sandwiches which were delicious. The highlight, however, was our chat with the owner, Fran. She was a delight! This place is the classic small town deli. So inviting, so friendly and the food was so good! Broadway deli: where quaint meets spectacular. I, myself had the pleasure of the French dip on a homemade roll. The rolls were fresh, the roast beef was juicy, and the au jus, juicier. Desert was even better! All homemade, the pies looked delicious, but I went with the brownie which, to my surprise was accompanied with a scoop of ice cream. read more

I love this place. The owner is great and she makes most of her desserts and meals from old recipes that have been handed down from her mother. Though not super cheap for a piece of mincemeat pie, etc. You really have to take a bite and all that negativity or judgemental thoughts go away. Not to mention their food is filling. The service is from the younger crowd most of the time. Usually in there teens, but ALWAYS great service even when busy. In fact I would say it is almost overly friendly, but I love that. I would rather be checked on a few more times than normal than not at all.I have not yet had a bad meal or bad service in the last 3 years. I love this place! read more

We stopped in Burns at the Broadway Deli to pick up sandwiches to eat later on our drive home. We ordered 2 sandwiches, a Highlander and a Turkey with avocado, both costing $11.00 each, 2 pieces of pie and a side of potato salad in total costing $44.00. It was only in the car later we thought -2 pieces of pie and the potato salad cost $22.00!! I hope this was some type of accidental mistake and not a total rip-off of tourists they knew would never be back. The sandwiches and pie were good, but my turkey and avocado had NO avocado-it was piled high with spinach maybe hoping I wouldn't notice. The kicker was "turkey and avocado" was written by hand on the wrapper!! That takes a lot of nerve. read more
