Broadway Bacon Cheeseburger

I haven't been to many Broadway Pizza locations outside of the original location on Broadway in Minneapolis (RIP) and the Robbinsdale location. Both of which I always enjoy the pizza and overall experience. I stopped in at the Champlin location (closest to my home) on a Monday evening to grab, of all things, a burger. That may seem wild to go to a pizza place to intentionally get a burger but I was told that Broadway Pizza makes a decent burger. The restaurant was pretty much dead outside of a few folks at the bar and what looked to be a cribbage league going on in the side room. I sat at the bar and was instantly greeted by a super friendly bartender. Service was great throughout. As far as the burger, it was bad. Really bad. I honestly wasn't really expecting anything too great but expected better than this. Super dry, crusty, stale bun. Overcooked meat. Sad little pieces of bacon. With that being said. This is a pizza place and they deserve another visit from me for a pie.

Lately, I've been craving a dimly light pizza parlor that had some good pizza. Ever since the original Red Savoys closed in St Paul you just don't find them in Minnesota anymore. Even a Pizza Hut would be nice. A place to sit down and have a decent pizza with a beer, that gave you that almost speakeasy feel, so far, Broadway is the closest I've come. So, how was the food? Pretty darn good. Typically we always get extra cheese on our pizzas because they never seem to have enough. Next time, I don't think we're going to. I was impressed and pleased at what came out of the oven. Plenty of toppings, plenty of cheese, fairly tasty. Sausage was a little disappointing, however the crust was not. Waiter was extremely fast and friendly. Very pleased. Overall the place was clean, fairly priced, and probably the closest thing to a pizza parlor you're going to find in the suburbs these days.

Ordered takeout and was quoted 20 minutes. It took 39 minutes from when I actually received the food. That's nearly 2x what I was originally quoted and ended up having to wait the 20 minutes. We ordered the Taco pizza and it was excellent tasting. No doubt they know how to make a solid pizza; however we ended up not receiving our salsa or sour cream along the way. Two dropped balls including improper quoting of pickup time and missing key ingredients for the order.

The setting that made the experience always so special, before they move to their residency inside the Guthrie Theater under a new name. I cannot wait to see what they do next. Every dish truly hit it out of the park. From the Three Sisters salad with bison and squash to the fried quail and rich, earthy mushroom soup, each plate showcased Indigenous ingredients and traditions in a way that felt both thoughtful and exciting. This is not your typical dining experience and that's exactly what makes it so satisfying. Even the margarita was a standout: beautifully presented and just as delicious as it looked. I will definitely miss this riverfront location, but I am so excited for their next chapter.

This place totally lived up to the hype, in my opinion!…read more I got the maple pepita latte ($10), sweet potatoes ($18), bison skirt steak tacos ($55), and spoonbread ($15). The latte came garnished with rose petals and was not too sweet. It was a nice way to start my meal. Then came the sweet potatoes, and oh my God, I think they were the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. They were unbelievably, delectably sweet and cooked perfectly. They had an excellent char while being soft on the inside. And the sweetness was complemented nicely by the maple chili crisp, which had just a bit of a kick. The bison skirt steak tacos were also delicious. The bison was so tender and juicy. Full of flavor and cooked superbly. My server wasn't kidding when she said the tacos were big enough to share between a few people. I ate the tacos by myself, and I was beyond stuffed. Alas, I wasn't a big fan of the spoonbread. The flavor wasn't bad, but I didn't care for the texture, which was a little too coarse for me. The dessert was gluten-free, and I could REALLY tell. It was also too spicy for me. The spoonbread was drenched in hot honey. But the sweet potatoes, tacos, and attentive & friendly service more than made up for it. The restaurant isn't cheap (especially for a solo diner), but I've seen worse prices for worse food. And I'm eager to check out their new location the next time I'm in Minneapolis. Note - if you pay with a credit card, it does come with a 3% fee.

We ordered the Porteño (meat pizza) and the Peras (vegetarian) since our son is vegetarian, and both were excellent. Even the leftovers held up wonderfully--reheated in an air fryer, they tasted fantastic. We also tried the churro donuts. On their own they were okay, but with the sauce, they were really good. Highly recommended for pizza lovers, and a great pairing with your favorite beverage--beer, wine, or a non-alcoholic choice

The margherita pizza itself was very tasty, and the cheese-covered crust definitely makes for a striking presentation. That said, the shredded cheese on the crust was a bit overwhelming and took away from actually enjoying the crust itself. Our biggest issue was honestly the customer service and overall flow of the restaurant. As first-time visitors, it was very unclear whether we were supposed to seat ourselves or order at the counter, and we didn't receive much direction when we asked. Everything is very self-serve, including grabbing your own plates and water, which is totally fine once you know the process, but better communication would really improve the experience. Overall, we enjoyed the pizza and appreciated the creative style, though vegetarian options were somewhat limited. We'd likely return and just know what to expect next time.

I happen to know folks who need to avoid gluten. I am good having gluten, but I was curious to check this place out. I tried earlier this year. Sadly, when I got to the food court, this stall was closed. On October 1st, after attending the Jason Show as a studio audience member, I headed over to the food court to try my luck again. It was roughly 11:30 am. This food stall was open. Yay! The nice man behind the counter was wonderful and patient as I figured out what I wanted. I got the following items: - Medium Diet Coke - Crispy fish sandwich with coleslaw I paid with a credit card. Done! He asked for my name for the order. I waited patiently for my order as it was being made. It didn't take long. I got my Diet Coke first. I sipped it as I waited for my food. He put my food in a container box and put this box on a tray. It was a nice touch that he said my name and hoped that I'd like my meal. I thanked him and headed to a free table in the food court to chow down. The coleslaw was crunchy and delicious. It's a mayonnaise-based coleslaw. The coating around the fish was crispy. I loved it. The fish portion was generous. The fish was flaky and yummy. It's a messy sandwich to eat. The lettuce, tomato, and some of the creamy coleslaw was a part of this sandwich. They easily slid out. The bun was different. It looked like a potato bun. I don't know what it was made of, but it worked well. It didn't disintegrate. It wasn't overly thick and boring. It was perfect. What was the most surprising part of my meal was the Diet Coke. It was crisp and fizzy, and had the quality of a Diet Coke from McDonald's. I was both impressed and sad that I didn't get a large. I'm so glad that this place is available for those who have Celiac disease and want to enjoy gluten-free food. Folks who aren't on a gluten-free regimen will also be pleased with the food here. I enjoyed everything that I ate and couldn't tell that they were gluten-free. (411)

I wish they would have rocked a pan crust however, instead of a thin crust like I had asked, but, it's still pretty darn tasty. So to start here's the not so good besides the pizza crust mix up, the website. Lord is it not easy to navigate. So terrible to navigate in fact that after 10 minutes of trying to figure it out on my phone, I gave up and called. The problem I continued to find was that no matter what I tried every pizza I was trying to order was from a different location then the one I wanted to order from. The other not so great part of this, was the fact that online they claimed to have two deals, when ordering online, it said they had one, when calling they confirmed there was only one. So why is there two coupons or specials, when there's really only 1? Add on top of the crust mix up, and it's hard to rate this highly. Additionally, I hope you're ordering for pick up or delivery because there's not much for space inside. The positives here are simple, great flavor, wonderfully cooked, fantastic job with the extra cheese. Based off pizza only she easily gets a 3.5/4. It's easily comparable to other chains, and how do you really mess up pizza? If you offered me the big chains vs this though, I'm easily taking this.
