So as someone who really likes pizza but needs dairy free or friendly options, I was very excited to try Randy's! And I'm already pumped to come back! Randy's offers gluten free dairy free/friendly pizza options. It's thin crust pizza and not greasy! Also they pack on the toppings! I don't think I've ever seen so much pepperoni on a slice before! We ordered a large gluten free crust with a few toppings and it fed 3 people. I decided to try the cauliflower crust. I went with goat cheese instead of mozzarella. The cauliflower crust was absolutely delicious but there is cheese in it (probably why it was delicious!). If you're lactose intolerant, you'll either have to choose suffering or go with the regular crust. I went with a small and ate the entire thing myself. I don't even feel bad about it. Toppings are fresh. We ordered online and drove over for pick up. If it's not quite ready, they will let you know and bring it out to your car. The pizza is spendy though so be prepared for a hefty bill if you need to order a couple of pizzas. read more

The food is so good and I so very much appreciate that it's celiac-safe. I can't emphasize that enough. This could be my absolute favorite place for pizza, even if it is a 25-minute drive for me. The service? I'm not lying when I say I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode. I saw the notes to order online, but the website wasn't functioning properly and I couldn't scroll through parts of the menu or add anything to my cart. So I innocently thought I could explain and place my order in person and wait. Nope. The owner (I assume) scolded me, referred to himself as being short staffed and "in a war zone." Said I could wait and they'd take my order when they could. I said it's fine if we're not welcome and left. He followed me out to my car, trying to explain how busy he was and again repeated something about being in a war zone. But never apologized or calmed down. He did give me a free frozen pizza, which I took as an attempt at an apology (and it was SO GOOD), but honestly, I've never felt actually harassed at a restaurant before this. I've never been one to say the customer is always right, but it seems like here they don't have a chance. We drove back to Minneapolis and had questionably-safe pizza from our local shop. Where we felt 100% welcomed. If I can work up the courage I'll order the food again (a Celiac has got to eat and safe options are few!) and try to be obedient at pick up. But I very much hope this man's employees are okay and treated well. And that he can calm down and find some joy and a business model that works for him. Very good gluten free pizza, best that we've had for sure, daughter was recently diagnosed with celiac and super nice to not have to worry about contamination. The pizza was amazing, wife had a margarita, I had pep and sausage, daughter had pepperoni all were very good. Chocolate chip cookie was amazing! A great pizza sauce. I got a 10" since it's just me on New Year's Eve. Jessie was super helpful to me and told me I could just order from my car. I love how they carry local MN craft sodas. I got the Northern brand Due North lemon lime and a rootbeer. Love the cane sugar instead of the high fructose junk. Believe me I'll be making that call for the deep dish. My husband and his friends wanted to do Randy's pizza challenge so they picked a weekend and went for it! I was a little bummed thinking this would probably be the last pizza my husband would be eating for a while, so while they had the challenge pizza I ordered one of my own- Sicilian on thin crust. Very good, fresh toppings- one of the few pizza joint that have fresh basil as a topping. A 10" specialty was a bit expensive at $16, but manageable. A nice touch for eat in orders is a free basket of garlic bread sticks (yum). The place is TINY and the challenge pizza (30" pizza, 4 people, 30 minutes) + a couple spectators took up all the space - this place is probably best for take out. The challenge....was a challenge! They didn't finish, but IMO did great - in the end I think there were 9 squares left. They went strong to start but hit a wall with about 10 minutes left. The pizza was very saucy and messy which I think made it harder. Bummer! Oh- the staff were great! Super friendly - telling us about other challengers and making sure everyone was well watered and stocked with napkins. I wish we could have seen them toss the pizza dough - I bet it's impressive! I just recently moved to MN and had a friend visiting with me who is celiac. She found Randy's pizza while looking for gluten free options in the area. What a nice surprise to find that not only are they gluten free, their facility is completely wheat free! Randy was very generous to offer my friend some gluten free waffle mix which she could take back with her when she went home. The owner's passion for his cooking is highly relevant and he is very hands on in the business. The pizza is amazing with a thickly reduced homemade spaghetti sauce packing it with huge flavor while you get to enjoy more of the cheese and ingredients with the thin and crispy crust. The pizza here is phenomenal. I can't have gluten and have missed decent pizza. To know that there isn't a risk of cross contamination is SO great. We had the pizza sticks which came complimentary when you dine in and they were so delicious. My best friend is not only GF but also dairy and egg free for medical reasons and she said that this is by FAR the best pizza that she's had in years (since her diagnosis). My kids couldn't get enough of the appetizer! We finished the meal off with a "pizza cookie". It was basically a large pizza cut up like a pizza. I haven't had a warm and GOOD chocolate chip cookie in years since having to go GF. Unfortunately it was incredibly slow service and untrained staff. Pizza is a personal thing. I used to watch in amazement as a friend of mine would worry and fret about how to deal with the part of the pizza crust that didn't have toppings on it. Double-u tee eff? You eat it, Clyde. Damn. When I bake a frozen pizza at home, I bake that bad boy until it's mother wouldn't recognize it. It comes out brown. If you like "well done" Klingon pizza then you and I are pizza brothers and will enter Stovokor together (for the pizza). If you like mild, Federation-familiar pizza with nothing new or disturbing, with the cheese just barely melted and the crust soft as a baby's butt, then you and I are not on the same pizza planet. I spit thee out of my mouth. Get thee behind me. I like my pizza to fight back and die in a glorious spasm of spice. Randy's pizza does that. The pizza is rockin' in a way that gives "rockin'" back its original meaning, which involved things that millennials and their Chucky Cheese pizza-eating toddlers should avoid at all costs. So watch it. Here be flavor. The service is also outstanding. They don't give you a glass of water. These men (these are men) offer up their entire water supply and say "help yourself." Damn. The Highland Grill could learn a thing or two about hospitality from these guys. What makes this place specialest of all is its hidden status. I like having the place to myself, but I worry about its future. The sign out by the road is awful and looks like you made it. The sign actually has the wrong name on it, and the store itself barely has a sign. Guys--get the signs right. You need some new signs. Big ones. I don't want my favorite pizza place to go out of business. Get some signs. All in all, the best pizza experience I have had in years. AND it's gluten free. How great is that? read more

I really enjoy getting pizza from Randys. I have had Randy's pizza at other locations, and the food and pizza isn't nearly as good as it is at this location. They are definitely doing something special at this location because once you've had it, you want to go back the next day. They're wedged in the back corner of a long building right off century and across from caribou. It's very easy to find and parking is good. On the inside, it's a little small. If you wanted to dine in, you may have to wait.. but it is worth the wait. I promise. Take out is fast. Their pizzas are phanomenal and they use fresh ingredients. They have great sauce. It's not too spicy. The price is moderate, but worth it. Their customer service is key. They are great with their customers and are very friendly. They also engage with the community quite a bit and offer giveaways on their Facebook page. Randy is very friendly with his customers and you can tell he really appreciates you. read more

I typically order out from here at least once a week, love their pizza and my husband loves their sandwiches. However. After our last experience I left very disappointed in the business. We ordered out, and as usual were quoted 55 to 75 minute wait for delivery, its a pretty long time but we are happy to wait for delicious food. After waiting over an hour and a half, I called to see what the status was. I was transferred to a manager who said it would be here soon, offered no apology, and seemed quite annoyed I asked. We used to love Randy's pizza. Two things have changed. The gluten free crust is terrible. Best described as "tough". Also, they have reduced the amount of meat they add to their pizza's. We normally order a pizza with one type of meat not two. We used to enjoy their sausage pizzas. With the last two pizza's we ordered we found that there was so little meat it was a joke. I called and was told they put the exact amount of meat on all there pizzas so I must be mistaken. Here's my take on this. We are paying, on average, double the amount you would pay for other local pizzas. Management may be able hide the fact that there is a small amount of sausage on a pizza because so many people order sausage and pepperoni pizzas. But isolated, a SINGLE MEAT pizza, shows an incredible SHORTAGE OF MEAT. What galls me is the self righteous opinions you get from the owners if you make a complaint. They hide behind a matter of fact statement that, "We put the same amount meat on each pizza." What a joke. In closing, they used to be one of the best local pizza joints. We paid plenty to enjoy the exceptional pizza and we went to Randy's exclusively. What I see in reviews are lots of complementary comments. BUT LOOK AT THE DATES you see that the MAJORITY OF COMPLIMENTARY REVIEWS ARE OLD. If you're sales are still high at Randy's I'm happy for you.
