Punch Pizza is a classic for me. I usually pick up my order since the restaurant can get packed, but the food stays fresh and delicious even to go. The host is always welcoming, and in the summer, their patio is a great spot to sit and enjoy your pizza. I always get the Maximus and add onions -- it's a fun twist on a supreme pizza and absolutely delicious. Delicious Italian style pizza. Value conscious prices which make me keep coming back. Service is exceptional for how popular they are. I mean that in typically every night is busy with a 30min wait if you don't order ahead, but the staff notices you and pays attention to you. They're all friendly, and I've asked them plenty of questions while they're working, which they've answered kindly while handling hot pizzas. If you're looking for a neopolitan pizza in the twin cities, punch is a solid option. We've visited a few different punches and the experience is pretty consistent at everyone that we've visited. The location in wayzata has ample parking behind the building and has never been very busy when we've stopped by. The menu is posted upon entry with paper copies so, if you don't know what you are ordering, you can take a few minutes to review and not hold up the line. They have a pretty large variety of specialty pizzas, our favorites are the Bruni and the margherita, and also the option to customize with any toppings you would like. They also have an excellent chopped salad that we always add in four your family to share. Customer service is good, what you'd expect at a counter service restaurant. There are plenty of seating options inside as well as some patio seating in the warmer months. The booths do run a bit on the small side compared to many other restaurants. Went for lunch today with family and this place is fire! What we ordered: Vesuvio Pizza - Spicy Salami, Saracene Olive, Cracked Red Pepper, Piparras Pepper, Basil and added Mushrooms Artichoke Dip with focaccia Bambini Pizza - kids classic cheese Love the wood fired taste and crunch it adds to the crust! The artichoke dip came out piping hot and was so cheesy, it went perfectly with the salty foccacia. The Vesuvio pizza was great, a little spicy from the salami and the peppers, but not overwhelming. We were able to snag a table large enough for our whole group to sit together and we were taking turns trying each others dishes. Everything was so well cooked and just perfection. There is plenty of lighting and tables inside, as well as a beautiful patio of you would prefer to sit outside. Punch pizza is always so good. But over the pandemic, it seems as if the dough has changed and the waiting times with their takeout option. Now, when we go to the restaurant, it takes a while to be served whereas before the pandemic, the orders came up quickly. Probably a controversial opinion, but Punch Pizza is the best pizza I've had in the twin cities! Service: I've eaten at Punch several times with my family and everyone who works there is extremely kind and helpful. Often, the folks who work there will suggest which pizza to order based on our preferences. The service is 5 stars out of 5! Food: Punch isn't only good for their pies, but their punch salad is also very filling and delicious. Always the right amount dressing and it comes with several focaccia pieces on the side! The borgata pizza is our #1! The right amount of sauce and cheese and very generous on the toppings. The pizza always comes out warm and the crust is the right amount of crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. You can easily share one with 2 people, but if I'm being honest if you're hungry one per person is probably best! The pizza also doesn't leave you feeling disgustingly full. The space: I can't speak for the other locations, but I did wish the space was bigger and could accommodate more guests but we've never had an issue finding a table-- at a minimum we've had to wait 5 minutes. read more

First time in a Punch Pizza and sadly was underwhelmed. The location is easy enough to find, right off the main drag, Wayzata Blvd., next to the Holiday gas station. Also in the building is Chipotle and Jon Charles Hair Salon. The parking lot is behind the building and I'm uncertain what the correct words are for how awful parking is in the lot. Once you're in the line to crawl around the lot in hopes that someone is backing out and a space will appear, you'll want to pull out your bag of patience and sit there recalling the patience is a virtue. I never was able to park in the lot and ended up driving to a larger lot and walking back about 1/2-mile each direction. I know, as a Minnesotan I should be telling you that I walked in the driving snow, carrying my companions on my back going uphill both ways! (This walk is a positive for being able to get steps in, but not an ideal way to encourage me to head back there anytime soon.) Once inside, the store smelled terrific! The beehive shaped oven was lovely and the artwork hanging inside is entertaining. Even the cat statue high in the corner adds to the ambience. As you stand in line you get to see the pizzas being created and that was enjoyable. We got up to the order placing spot and being new it took a moment to know what I needed to do to get the pizza I wanted. I went with the Margherita pizza (has basil) and added sausage, Mount Vesuvio tomatoes, piparras peppers and Gorgonzola. No beverage. We found a table and sat down with our order number and gabbed about pleasantries. Our pizzas arrived and I had forgotten to grab a knife and fork. I asked for those and was told that "for future use" they are near the beverage station. Thanks for schooling me! Well, in your own lingo, "for future use," if someone asks, perhaps go grab them and when you bring them back let them know they are sitting by beverages. Took a photo of the personal sized pizza and then pulled one piece out with great anticipation and it was completely limp, wilting down like a sad, gooey, doughy triangle. The outside edge was bubbled and good, but the entire base was moist and gross. The restaurant had gotten busy and I did not have a lot of extra time today so I scraped off the topping and made my own pizza out of toppings and crust edges. Pros: Smells great! I'll first start by saying the pizza is very good. Initially, I almost balked because of the online order. My kids talked me out of it and I'm glad they did. It was actually much easier than I thought it would be. We ordered five different pies, and all were delicious. I entered the time that we would be there to pick them up, and when we arrived, the place was very busy. Half the tables were occupied and the other half were cluttered with dirty dishes, etc. There was nobody available to clear tables. Understandably, due to how many people were in line, and how many people were waiting for online orders. We arrived a little early and I thought for sure we would have to wait much longer than, the requested time. I was wrong, the pizzas were ready less than five minutes after the scheduled time. The size of the pizzas are definitely made to feed one individual. So we ordered an extra one just for late night snacks. The four of us ended up finishing almost all five. With a few slices left over. I thought the price was very reasonable and I think the toppings they offered were quite nice. Someone had mentioned in a earlier review about the crazy gourmet toppings? Maybe they might want to stick with Domino's or Pizza Hut. We have a pretty good pizza, place closer to our house that's way more convenient and that will probably stick with, but I could see visiting punch occasionally in the future. One last note, the crust is worth the drive. it has a really nice chewy texture and the woodfired oven gives you those nice crispy bubbles of goodness. read more

They don't have a ton of seating, because it's not a sit down restaurant, but I think the indoor seating combined with outdoor is enough, you just might have to wait 5 minutes till someone gets up to leave, so if you see a table inside, grab it! I have been to the Punch pizza locations for many many years. I had great food and service for most of the time. Unfortunately, they are leaving their professionalism very badly lately. The service is getting worse every other day. I blame it to hiring inexperienced people and put them in charge of front. They are very amateur and doing mistake after mistake, ruining your dinner. Last problem happened to me today in Wayzata location. Ordered margherita pizza, small Greco salad with tomatoes and pop. They served the pizza first !!!!!! Waited for the salad... Got the salad and there was no tomatoes So, I gave them 2 stars this time. Don't get me wrong, the chefs are great. The problem is the front people. This evening my kids and I sat in a nearly empty restaurant for 46 minutes (yes, 46 minutes from when we placed the order) waiting for our food. As we waited we saw countless online orders get picked up and a few other hungry dine in customers attempt to negotiate with the cashier for their long awaited food. As another commenter pointed out, the online orders are given the same priority as the dine in orders. I remember the days of going in and being amazed at how quickly the pizzas came out. Those days are gone. I had bragged to my kids about watching them make the pizzas, but the novelty of it all wore off quickly. Well, I'm not a huge fan of the burnt bubble fire cooked pizza. My 15 year old is not a huge fan of weird "gourmet" ingredients. So we tend to only stop here in October for the $3 Dead pizza Day. I really do appreciate that they let you order it to go! It's a fun treat of a different taste once a year. The crust really is pretty good after you pick off the black burnt bits. The ingredients seem really high quality and authentic. The Quattro stagioni pizza pie was really interesting with crushed tomatoes and olive oil. Then basil and one fourth mushrooms, one fourth olives, one fourth ham, and one fourth peppers with a tiny little kick. Now the fact that my ingredients were segregated annoyed me a tad. So after picking off the black bits, rearranging my toppings, and adding more cheese at home my pizza wasn't half bad for such a deal! But it was definitely a reminder that this style just isn't my jam. I go to this pizza place practically every single time I am in Wayzata. I absolutely LOVE with all of my existence the margarita​ pizza!!! Literally the greatest invention EVER. The pizzas are personal pizzas so I usually eat about half of a whole one, but my friends can finish the entire thing. This place is always busy and due to that, it can be a little slower, but I've never waited for more than ten minutes. They put you at the back of the line, and not only don't make your food when you come they start the order with it's a 45 mins wait. When you have a 2 year old so exited for her first experience and ask if I order just her pizza if it would be faster. Nope told I have to wait like the other online folks. I asked how long was left since the sweet boy at the front said he would try to make it shorter. Some gal said um mam it's still 40 mins. Yay...! Punch Pizza in the Ridgedale area! So happy to have found this...now I go here every time I visit Ridgedale... This is now my new favorite, Punch Pizza too... this is the only Punch pizza that I know of that is very cozy, and the tables are well spaced out and someone brings the pizza to your table... like a real restaurant! I understand that it's an unprecedented time, but the experience that we had at Punch tonight was the worst take out/dine out experience that we've had in the last 3 months, and we've gotten a lot of take out since restaurants closed back in March. We also have loved Wayzata Punch have been regular customers since they've opened. The issues: They had no gluten-free crust, there were no forks, knives or napkins provided, the salad was not heavily dressed as requested, (as repeated back to us by the cashier), and we were told that parmesan and red pepper flakes would be an additional 25 cents per cup. The whole experience was disjointed and disappointing. The pizza is great but we expect top-notch food and service from Punch, and we were really disappointed tonight. read more
