    Onion Rings with Chipolte Mayo
    Julie B.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while so Sis and I had lunch on a Sunday morning. We arrived shortly after it opened and the place was half full already. It looks big from the outside but the dining area is small and the bar area is even smaller (when comparing to a place like Chili's or Sammy's Pizzeria). I know that businesses are short staffer and we need to be patient but there was only 1 bartender and 1 waitress for the whole joint. We were sat at a table for 2 in the bar area. Drink and entree orders were taken. 2 Root Beers served were without flavoring syrup, just flat fizz. I made the bartender aware and they were replaced in due time. She only brought 1 root beer, not two and when I questioned why just one she snapped back that she didn't take my order. But I gave you two bad glasses!! Onion rings were delicious. Love that Chipolte Mayo. Sis's said her burger was good. Can't go wrong with a bbq burger. My hoagie however fell short. Even though it was a "hot hoagie " it was served more room temp. I could tell the cheese was melted and golden from a salamander oven but the bread was no longer warm to touch. It tasted better reheated up on my air fryer. Took a while to get our check since the place was at capacity and the waitress was busy with the dining room. Taking all things in to consideration, I'd rather do take-out vs dine-in in the future.

A Minnesota staple, this location caught my eye due to the wooden cabin build. I didn't hate or love it as I dined in on a Friday evening. There was a short wait and we were seated on the lower level near the bar and fire place. An extremely clean interior, I was more impressed with the building then the food. There were three spacious bathrooms, a bar, a second level, and a pull tab station. The pull tab station had a poor placement wedged right between the bar and kitchen where servers walk in and out causing multiple traffic jams. Additionally, the pull tab dealer was not the most pleasant. The upstairs was extremely loud as there were kids screaming and running free-for-all with limited observance from parents. Once the kids left, our dining became more enjoyable. In terms of the food, the full hoagie sandwich had far too much lettuce and not enough sauce. The pizza was fine. I wouldn't come back at my own free will but wouldn't say no if I got invited.

Been to this restaurant several times recently as we are trying to support local businesses. This is a great place to go. Their menu consists of a variety of Italian style food that goes beyond pizza. I have recently tried the calzone, and the pizza sandwich that is pictured in the review. Overall the quality of food is good, great service, and perfect atmosphere. Their prices are right given the serving portions. They also maintain a high standard of cleanliness, which is important. Speed of service has consistently been right based on wait time for service, and speed of food after order. I also appreciate the friendly service. Good review on the pizza sandwich. Prefer it to the calzone. Nice beer selection with taps, and bottles. Next time I am going to try the spaghetti and meat balls. Thank you for some great meals.

We ordered from Carbone's Pizza the other night. We got a special they were offering of two large one topping pizzas. The were pretty good. We hadn't ordered from them for a long time and were pleased that it came hot and was pretty tasty. We will probably order again soon.

We ordered a pizza from our neighborhood Carbone's. They had a two large pizzas for $24.99. When I placed the order they told me it would be an hour wait for delivery. It did take an hour and a half. At least the pizza was warm when it came. It tasted pretty good.

    Beef bites....Fantastic!!

This is one of my very favorite places to get pizza or spaghetti and I'm sad that I now live on the other side of the Twin Cities so I don't get it as often :(. But now it is a treat whenever I go up to visit family! It's always a difficult choice between the pizza (which is always perfectly balanced ratio of toppings and always comes out hot and cheesy) and the Spaghetti and meatballs (which has a great sauce and tender meatballs). This time though we added something new to rave about....the Steak bites!! They were Amazing!! The flavor was fantastic, they were perfectly cooked, and it was a really nice portion as well. The atmosphere is in a very nice cabin styled building with lots of log interior and a fireplace inside which makes it a perfect place for a meal especially as it gets cooler outside :). Parking is easy and the service is good, but the star is really the food!!.

Pizza sandwich is great, and a great value for lunch!

I've had many lunches at Carbone's over the past few years, and one of the best bangs for your buck is the Pizza Sandwich! It's like a medium pizza on a super thin crust, rolled up and cooked to crispy perfection. No, it's not a hot pocket, it's a million times better than that. It's delicious and a great value! Also, a hidden gem on the menu, is the burger. It's seriously delicious. It's a perfect juicy blend of beef and has a great grill flavor.

The pros: portion sizes are huge, chicken tasted good The cons: waiter did not stop by the table once, my water was empty within the first 10 min of sitting there and i had to take my cup physically up to the counter to get water from them because i was so thirsty. I didnt see him once after that, he just stood up at the counter talking to the other server. The pasta was oily, they put so much cheese on everything that the oils from the cheese come out and my pasta literally had a layer of oil all around the plate. The mozzerella garlic bread barely had any garlic bread taste, tasted mostly like mozzerella. The mozzerella was also so oily that the garlic bread was just soggy 5 min after the waiter put the plate down. The price is steep, by myself i got an app and an entree only and it came out to 48$ before tip. Overall, for a spot with the reviews it has it completely let me down along with the locals who recommended it to me.

For lunch, I ordered the Chicken Marsala. You get to choose a side; options ranging from Alfredo Fettuccine to Green Beans to Mashed Potatoes to Spaghetti Marinara. I went for the Spaghetti. The meal also came with two breadsticks. Overall, the dish was decent but not remarkable. The highlight was the mushrooms in the Marsala wine sauce. They were flavorful and well prepared. The chicken itself was just okay. Without the sauce, it lacked seasoning, and the texture varied throughout the breast, with some parts tender and others noticeably tough or chewy. The spaghetti was good, though comparable to standard spaghetti you might find anywhere. The breadsticks, however, were disappointing; they were extremely hard and not enjoyable to eat. I also wish the Chicken Marsala and the spaghetti were packaged separately. Because of the amount of sauce, everything blended together in the container. I don't mind my food touching, but separating the items would make for a better presentation and texture. I do think other menu items may have more to offer. One mediocre experience isn't enough for me to write off the restaurant entirely, so I would consider trying something else in the future. However, I wouldn't recommend this particular dish based on today's order. Overall rating: 3/5.

It's a small little place that you would probably miss unless you really took the time to look at the building. There were six of us, and I loved that their menu was straight forward with about 10 main dishes to choose from. I got the cheese tortellini with steak. We also got the breadsticks as appetizers and I got a side cedar salad. The breadsticks were big and fluffy and it came with red sauce, but we also asked for Alfredo sauce to dip it in. The steak on top of my tortellini was cooked great! Was probably cooked to about medium-medium rare. The Alfredo was top tier. I loved the flavor and it was very creamy. They gave you a lot too which was nice. I liked the size of the Caesar salad, not too big, and the dressing was great. I wasn't a super huge fan of the croutons because they were a rye type of bread. We tried all three desserts and they were all very good. The lava cake was my favorite. The waitress was also the hostess. She was very nice. The only thing I would say was that it was a bit odd that she was wearing leggings and a crop top. Just felt a little unprofessional seeing her belly button piercing. She did a very good job serving us though. The food was very well priced and good portions because I walked away with extras. The place was relatively quiet for a Friday night. Please go check this place out!!

Looks like they have patio dining in the summer months. We came NYE so service was a little slower but friendly. Someone was making sure our waters were filled and used plates taken away. My husband ordered the veal Marsala and it came with choice of soup or salad and a side of pasta. Penne with red sauce was the standard or upgrade to fettuccine Alfredo. Creamy clam soup was delicious. Nice and rich. Fettuccine noodles were over cooked but the cream sauce was so good. You can taste the fresh cream. It was slightly under seasoned but nothing a little salt didn't fix. The veal was nice and tender, lots of mushrooms, and a side of steamed green beans. This dish was also slightly under seasoned. I ordered one of the specials, a pasta bolognese. Supposed to come with penne but I requested it with fettuccine. Noodles were cooked better than the Alfredo but still slightly overcooked. The bolognese sauce was so delicious. They give you bread for the table but it was dense and lacked flavor. Glass of wine, appetizer, and two entrees came out be a little under $100 before tip. Giuseppe's seems perpetually busy and the crowd starts very early. When we arrived last Saturday, there were only two tables left and one of those was a quirky half table. What makes this restaurant popular is the consistency of the food, the good service and the focus on popular old-school Italian food. All of the favorites are there and they are done well. My go-to is often the spaghetti and meatballs, which is so easy to prepare at home, but still worth going out for if the restaurant does it right. The entrees come with a soup or salad, both of which are good. On this particular visit, it was really cold outside and the Minestrone was hot, chunky, and full of fresh vegetables. They also serve (an increasingly rare) bread basket with a variety of different fresh baked breads, which are perfect for dipping into the olive oil. The chicken marsala and the frequent special of Chicken Parnassian are excellent too, as is their pasta. Pro Tip: They don't take reservations, so go as early as you can, even on a week night. They are not open on either Sunday or Monday, so factor that into your visit. They open at 4 pm and close at 8 pm, so the total open hours for the week are 20 hours!
