Been hearing about this place for years, recommended by friends. Cute little restaurant, space is tight but they offer reservations. Looks like they have patio dining in the summer months. We came NYE so service was a little slower but friendly. Someone was making sure our waters were filled and used plates taken away. Food was definitely freshly made. We ordered the mussels for appetizer. We chose the spicy tomato sauce and it was yummy. My husband ordered the veal Marsala and it came with choice of soup or salad and a side of pasta. Penne with red sauce was the standard or upgrade to fettuccine Alfredo. Creamy clam soup was delicious. Nice and rich. Fettuccine noodles were over cooked but the cream sauce was so good. You can taste the fresh cream. It was slightly under seasoned but nothing a little salt didn't fix. The veal was nice and tender, lots of mushrooms, and a side of steamed green beans. This dish was also slightly under seasoned. I ordered one of the specials, a pasta bolognese. Supposed to come with penne but I requested it with fettuccine. Noodles were cooked better than the Alfredo but still slightly overcooked. The bolognese sauce was so delicious. They give you bread for the table but it was dense and lacked flavor. Glass of wine, appetizer, and two entrees came out be a little under $100 before tip. Overall, we enjoyed our experience. Not a knock your socks off place but nice and cozy with freshly prepared dishes.

We ordered Filetto Gorgonzola of Pork or Beef Tenderloin, medallions sautéed in garlic, onions and mushrooms topped off with gorgonzola cheese and a touch of cream sauce. Pork $24.99 Beef Market Price (this came with beans and carrots and a side of fettuccine Alfredo) Spaghetti Spaghetti noodles smoothered in our house marinara sauce complimented with Italian sausage or an Meatball. $18.99 The house Italian dressing is robust and tasty. Spaghetti was the winner of the various foods we brought home I would definitely order that again. The Filetto had too many mushrooms and not enough beef or Gorgonzola for us. Alfredo was tasty enough, but not as good as the spaghetti. Service was good and the staff were very friendly. Ambiance is small, family, local feel. It is a small space inside so definitely suggest reservations if you're dining in.

Special occasion night at Buona Sera, the restaurant has been on the corner of a low-key area not in the city. We've been here a couple of times and it hasn't disappointed. We were in a group of four, each of us had a different entre with the calamari appitizer. Each of us had either a salad or the soup, all delicious. The entre's were fabulious with good portions. The place is on the small side so I'd recommend making reservations. We went on a Wednesday and it wasn't too busy however we made reservations "just-in-case". The servers, a joint effort from everyone, was very good. No rush and efficient service. The beer and wine selection is good. My only caution is make sure you understand the pricing of the daily specials can be a bit steep, the menu items are VERY fairly priced and, again, delicious.

My Fiancé and I had an exceptional experience celebrating our anniversary here! Their food was delicious and authentic! We tried three of their specials. The app was walleye cakes with a Chipotle sauce and bruschetta. I got the Pasta Bolognese with a meatball and my partner got the lobster stuffed ravioli with a creamy pesto sauce. Then the dessert was an espresso creme brulee. Everything was fantastic and will be back soon!

Another delicious dinner at Buona Sera. Your choice of soup or salad, potato soup was the choice tonight but we opted for salad and both got the Pork Saltambucca with a baked potato. Super delicious and loaded with flavor, one of my favorite dishes from this establishment. Good service tonight too. Ok prices, maybe a little high but love this little place.

LOVE this restaurant. Always have amazing service and an excellent meal. Prices are VERY reasonable, you get multiple courses. Stand-alone building with plenty of parking. Very charming Italy vibe. Unique spot. Owner is amazing and friendly.

A very nondescript location that you'd never find if you weren't looking for it. The inside is quaint but with lots of nods to its Italian theme throughout. I will say that it's maybe not the MOST kid-friendly place, but they accommodated us OK. We started with the Walleye Cakes, which were good but not great. Somewhere around a 3.5/5. Could have used something to spice up the flavor a notch. For mains, I was suggested the Veal Porterhouse, which did not disappoint. Cooked nearly to perfection and plenty of flavor in the very tender cut. The filet (surprisingly) was also pretty good, although you're basically paying steakhouse price for it, and I'm not sure it was either big enough or good enough to quite validate that. On the side was the fettuccine Alfredo and it's a very good version (well worth the upgrade).

Pretty good Italian food in the burbs. You get fresh bread with (what i believe is ) tomato basil butter. The calamari was decent, and your pasta entree comes with a side salad (which was fresh and the house dressing was very flavorful) or a side soup (I believe it was a tomato basil soup the night we went.) I got the Spaghetti del Pescatore, which had mussels, shrimp, calamari, scallops, onions, garlic and a broth, which is delightful because I love broths and sauces. It was definitely something that I would order again. Servers were friendly, but be warned that if you were celebrating a birthday or special occasion, this is not a spot that offers any gimmicks or desserts. ( Not that we expected them too, it was just something we observed). Also, I'm not sure why, but the spot we sat in the patio attracted a lot of flies, which I haven't had happen in other patio spots I've visited (including places that served calamari) so I would recommend sitting indoors. Overall, it's a good, locally owned pasta spot. They apparently specialize in steaks so I will need to come back and try some.

Great low key ambiance. Believe it or not, I had the meat loaf off the menu. The menu literally said "yes meat loaf, it's that good". It was good, almost like eating veal with beef gravy. The gravy and the meat had a good flavor, worth a try. The table next to me a lady had the chicken Alfredo and she went on and on about how good it was. Yes tables are close to each other. I also tried the tiramisu, menu stated it was home made. It was not bad, just the whipped cream was a little heavy and it needed a little more espresso on the lady fingers. The waitress was amazing. She was polite, professional and had a 1920's style dress on, not sure how she waited tables and was the hostess in the dress and kept up. But she did and did an amazing job. The chef's did come out and check on folks and even did food running. The staff overall was exceptional. I will have to go back and try some of the pasta as well.

Our waitress was very accomdating until she got busy then we felt we were forgotten. We ordered the Drunken shrimp , bread with olive oil and the avocado toast to start with. The drunken shrimp is just as good as we remember the saffron sauce is sooooo good! but there were 3 of us sharing the apps and it only came with 2 crostini's we asked for a 3rd so we could each have one but little did we know that one very small skinny piece of bread had a $1.00 charge to it. The steak bites with their homemade blue cheese sauce was to die for melt in your mouth!! I even asked if we could buy some of the blue cheese sauce, she said no but that she would bring us another dish of it but she never did. My girlfriend ordered a cranberry mule drink, she was charged an extra $1.00 for the cranberry. We also ordered the goat cheese with sauces that were very delicious with an ample amount of crackers. We got the chocolate Ganache cake to share for dessert. But............ the waitress never took our empty dirty plates but showed up with the dessert with the mess on table, I asked for extra clean plates but she never brought them. Everything we ordered was very delicious, but as the night progressed our service got worse, we asked for the bill but she never came back to get our payment and we had questions my girlfriend walked it up to the bartender with our payments. 2 of us were paying cash and one a credit card and we were charged an extra fee of $5.18 for her using a credit card. That is when we saw the $1.00 charge for 1 piece 3/8" bread and the $1.00 for cranberry mule. Talk about nickel and diming. We would love to go back but unsure if I can get past some of these things. Also, now looking at the bill even closer, none of us had a mimosa and we were charged $8.95 for one.How did we miss that? All added up we paid $16.00 more than we should have. CRAZY!! Sadly, Don't know if I'll be back.

They were friendly, organized, and never made us feel rushed. My usual order is the Black Fettuccine with Lobster, which I highly recommend, but this time I changed it up and ordered the Combo Lasagna and Chicken Parmesan. It was excellent. As always, the bread with olive oil, parmesan, and fresh cracked pepper was awesome. You have to discipline yourself to stop eating so much warm bread that you don't fill up before your meal comes. For appetizers, we shared three Bruschetta orders, the Bacon-Wrapped Dates, and the Calamari Fritti. Everything was very good and perfect for a larger group to share. The overall experience is what keeps us coming back. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, they have a great patio during the summer months, the food is always consistent, and the service is typically very good. The menu includes Italian mainstays like spaghetti, which is what I ordered tonight. The sauce is always perfect, a little tangy with a fresh tomato taste. However, shortly after serving my meal the waiter brought out a fresh meatball saying that the chef wanted me to have it because she thought the one with my spaghetti was "bad". That more than made up for my initial disappointment. My wife had the Baked Mosticolli Special and she was very happy with it. Each meal comes with a basket of homemade bread: a garlic bread twist, pepperoni bread, olive bread and traditional Italian bread. This is always a highlight. Tonight was no different. Normally I don't order dessert however tonight I ordered something called Papas Bread Pudding. This was heaven in a dish. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. Giuseppe's seems perpetually busy and the crowd starts very early. When we arrived last Saturday, there were only two tables left and one of those was a quirky half table. What makes this restaurant popular is the consistency of the food, the good service and the focus on popular old-school Italian food. All of the favorites are there and they are done well. My go-to is often the spaghetti and meatballs, which is so easy to prepare at home, but still worth going out for if the restaurant does it right. The entrees come with a soup or salad, both of which are good. On this particular visit, it was really cold outside and the Minestrone was hot, chunky, and full of fresh vegetables. They also serve (an increasingly rare) bread basket with a variety of different fresh baked breads, which are perfect for dipping into the olive oil. The chicken marsala and the frequent special of Chicken Parnassian are excellent too, as is their pasta. Pro Tip: They don't take reservations, so go as early as you can, even on a week night. They are not open on either Sunday or Monday, so factor that into your visit. They open at 4 pm and close at 8 pm, so the total open hours for the week are 20 hours!
