This is not always as easy as it sounds (here's looking at you, yelp that still doesn't match VEGAN correctly)! But I digress. This is about food. Or specifically, pizza, dough balls, and calzones. All of which.................happen to be vegan, with an entire dedicated vegan menu. Let's get into the food itself: dough balls: great, but the seasoning was kinda meh. It was basically pizza dough with pizza seasoning, the sauce was good! Something actually *unique* for the dough ball seasoning would have been welcome (see: difference spice options). Pizzas were perfect to me, it was a good thicker sort of crust witout being over the top. The calzone concept was cool but also a bit weird - half was entirely dough. I mean, it was good dough, but I would have settled for a slightly less enormous calzone than just excess dough. Maybe it was a coincidence. I don't know. In the end, none of that is a detractor. Overall, this is a good place to go! I know not every restaurant is fully vegan and I can live with that, but a full vegan menu with options? You have my business!

There's only one size and had no idea it was $6 on Monday's. Plenty for 2 people for lunch. The pizza was good, a little too much Parmesan for my taste, but didn't stop me from eating it. The bill was only $30, 2 Bloody Mary's, 2 beers, 2 cocktails and the pizza. Looking forward to next time.

It's the best thing I have found in the Chicago/Indiana area. I'm afraid to say that no one is as good as Texas. The queso was really good along with the chips and salsa. They offered me a 26 or 32 oz Michelob Ultra Draft, I opted for the 32 oz. The server could have been more attentive, especially since there were just about 4 two toppers and 1 group of six. We held a conversation without having to yell, and was quite pleasant. The atmosphere was great. Santa Fe is definitely one of my top five Mexican restaurants outside of Texas.

I can only evaluate based on two items and carryout as I did NOT eat inside…read more I ordered at the bar, which the service was quick and pleasant. I ordered the Restaurant Crawl special for $7 which was the Lake Perch basket with cole slaw & tartar sauce. I also ordered the sweet potato fries for $7. Both entrees were excellent. The Lake Perch was just perfect. It's fried and not soaked in butter how some restaurant prepare it. So it's easy to handle and dip into the tartar sauce, which was on the sweet side. The cole slaw would have been better if it was in a separate bag or container instead of being with the fish as it was warm. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly, too. Very tasty and I at every last one! It did not need any condiment to make them taste better. I would go back - but not sure about eating indoors - it's definitely a bar area and it appears to allow smoking inside, unsure of that though. The bar has two sides and there are plenty of large/long tables spread out and you can dine as a single, couple or larger group. But there is a sign on the door that says 21 and over only. They will card!

Those who travel on I-94 and I-80/94 from Illinois to Michigan and vice versa won't know about…read moreLeroy's unless they divert their travels to U.S. 20. There in the town of Porter lies Leroy's, roughly a mile east of Exit 22, a place we frequently passed by over the years but never checked out - til last nite. And though a wee bit apprehensive upon arriving, those hesitations quickly vanished upon entry. Admittedly it can get noisy in the main area (wherein lie the bar, band stage, pool tables and some seating arrangements), which you have to pass thru (a bit awkward) to get to the main dining area (quieter but not totally devoid of noise). Compounding the noise factor were a few babies who let everyone know how they felt. But it wasn't too long before they stopped crying and the band concluded. However, regardless, none of it deterred me, my mixed race son or his mom from having a memorable time. Whatever noise existed was compensated by an overall delightful atmosphere. Not quite what we anticipated but it was so cool. From the moment we sat down at the one remaining unoccupied booth (open seating) til departing, all three of us had a wonderful time. The food was just terrific. The combo plate (mine), the chicken con queso (my son's dish) and chicken en mole (his mom's) were all tasty with good portions and fairly priced (the rice and beans particularly tasty). It's also not often you can get a good selection of meals under $15 these days but here you can. The salad was quite notable since all premium greens were used, no head lettuce or romaine. Impressive. The salsa could perhaps use a little oomph but hardly bad. The complimentary chips looked homemade and were good but could have used a bit more salt. We did initially ask for our chips instead of being automatically delivered but they came fast and as soon as we finished the first batch, a second was quickly delivered to our table. We also had to request sour cream as it didn't come with the meals but was also promptly brought to the table and also at no charge. The pop and free refills, served in decorative glasses, rounded out our stay. But as much as the food was worth what we paid for, equally memorable was the attentive service from the git go. We could not have asked for better. Nicole, our waitress, was superb thru and thru, perfect. Same with Brandon, her husband, who looked like a supervisor and came to assist wherever needed (as he did with the bringing of food and drink). He also took time from his schedule to chat with us at breaks and in doing so, hit it off with us. Not something we obviously expected but we loved it. Great guy as well as his wife. Both individuals were the faces of Leroy's and they sold it oh so well. We all don't have that kind of money to eat out that often but with the fine food and unusually good service we will have to find a way to soon return to Leroy's. Despite the noise, very highly recommended and worth the drive, regardless of whether you live in Hoosierville or just passing thru. One of those hidden gems. Ignore all the old whiny reviews. Leroy's is indeed good stuff and for good reason.
