Came here for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Sandwich was delicious, coffee was probably the worst I've ever had. It was also odd that I ordered iced coffee (in August) and it came in a hot coffee cup. The coffee was insanely diluted. I took two sips and tossed it. The workers also seemed highly inconvenienced by simply having to take your order. I'd skip this place as there are so many other and better options in the area. read more

We really enjoyed our visit here. There was a bit of a wait to order but it was worth it. The bagels are wonderful and made for an excellent egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich. I come to Broad Street Cafe for two reasons, bagels and paninis. They have the best in town of both in my opinion. They will make a bagel sandwich out of any bagel if you prefer that over a simple toasted bagel with cream cheese. Their bagels are overwhelmingly fluffy and they are made in house fresh everyday. You can sometimes buy leftovers from the day before by the bag for a discounted price, but they are often limited and no specific type of bagel is garunteed. On my last visit I came with my parents who haven't lived around here is about a decade. They both have their favorite places and Broad Street Cafe has been on my dad's short list of favorites since I can remember. My parents both got bagel sandwiches and my dad also got a bag of day old bagels to take home. I got my usual order of the club panini minus tomato. Staff was friendly and quick with making food. The lady behind the counter, I assumed the owner, even remembered my dad and chatted with him while he paid for our order. We came in within an hour of closing (3p) and I could get the vibe that the staff were annoyed we were there. Staff was not friendly and not very helpful. No customer service. The place is an old fire house which is very cool but is tired looking - regarding the décor, tables/chairs, and set up. Felt dingy too. I was impressed with the menu and found it to have a lot of good options, but the execution was lacking. I got the special - smoked turkey bagel which came with a drink and a side [either chips or potato salad]. The chips are from Gordon's and so is the potato salad, meh. A very simple breakfast but oh my gosh was it good. I have never had a bagel like this before. I'm so used to bagels being dense and chewy and almost hard. This had a fluffy texture almost akin to bread, not your typical bagel. And that was the great thing about it. It WASN'T your typical bagel. It made me want to eat more. I wanted to keep experiencing this texture that I had never experienced before. Bread but not, bagel but not. The best combo of both. And I'm so glad I chose the Asiago cheese bagel because it went perfectly with the sausage, egg, and cheese that was smooshed in the middle. Authentic and fresh bagels that are super affordable! These have the right crust on the outside, perfect chew on the inside. The asiago was really good. For the price, you really cannot beat it. Great quick, on-the-go option for an early morning breakfast or brunch, hubby loves getting the "leftover bagels" that they offer in bulk. Love the coffee and the bagels, (with their cream cheese!) I do only get bothered by the amount of styrofoam used here, such as for all the coffee cups and styrofoam boxes for every. single. food item delivered out. The layout was nice. The menu reads well. They have some interesting drinks. That warrants the two star part of the review. Whatever you do, don't look up. The ceiling, lights, vents, etc. are beyond filthy. I don't know how many years it takes for dust to accumulate on spider webs before they start to look like ropes, but I think they passed that point a long time ago. I would suggest eating outside at a sidewalk table, but the filth is right above the food preparation areas, so you can't escape it by getting it "to go." Hopefully, I can post the pictures... The food was, well, not great. My colleague ordered a pizza wrap that was, despite going through a sandwich toaster, cold. I had a panini that was also cold. That takes some effort - how do you serve a sandwich with grill marks on it that is lukewarm? Since I had to wait while five people behind me received their food and paid, my theory is that the pani press has a timer on it, no one was paying attention, so it sat there 10 minutes after being cooked before they gave it to me. Sandwiches come with chips and a pickle. I guess I'm spoiled because I'm used to a pickle with some texture, not a gelatinous blob. You have a choice of chips. You can get a snack-pack size of Frito-Lay brand chips, or their "house chips" which come out of a larger bag. My advice to management? Close for a weekend or maybe mid-week for a couple days and hire professionals to clean floor to ceiling. You have a cute shop, but it is grossly neglected. Get an experienced manager who can fix your quality control issues. I understand that you're dealing with summer help, but that puts the onus on management to make sure that food is hot and consistent. read more

Probably some of the best bagels that I have ever had. I got a cinnamon raisin toasted bagel with walnut cream cheese. It was crunch on the outside and sod in the middle. The coffee was just okay but the bagels made up for it. Will definitely be back when we return in town. read more

We had the Asiago bagel with scallion cream cheese and it was amazing. We also had plain bagels, my wife had honey walnut and I had strawberry cream cheese and they were both awesome!
