I come to Broad Street Cafe for two reasons, bagels and paninis. They have the best in town of both in my opinion. They will make a bagel sandwich out of any bagel if you prefer that over a simple toasted bagel with cream cheese. Their bagels are overwhelmingly fluffy and they are made in house fresh everyday. You can sometimes buy leftovers from the day before by the bag for a discounted price, but they are often limited and no specific type of bagel is garunteed. On my last visit I came with my parents who haven't lived around here is about a decade. They both have their favorite places and Broad Street Cafe has been on my dad's short list of favorites since I can remember. My parents both got bagel sandwiches and my dad also got a bag of day old bagels to take home. I got my usual order of the club panini minus tomato. Staff was friendly and quick with making food. The lady behind the counter, I assumed the owner, even remembered my dad and chatted with him while he paid for our order. If you love bagels, sandwiches and coffee I would highly recommend coming in to Broad Street Cafe.

Roasted red pepper gouda soup is incredible. Was a firehouse, so has a fun retro feel. Very nice staff and owner. Decent prices.

I stopped by here on the way to Chicago, it's a decent sized old school diner. We ordered at the counter. I was happy to see they had my favorite raspberry seltzer, used to love this stuff ages ago. I had a vegetarian and added cream cheese, my friend had a chicken wrap sandwich. The food was good, service was as well.

We wanted a quick but fresh place to eat and found Broad Street Café. I expected more than what we got from this place. We came in within an hour of closing (3p) and I could get the vibe that the staff were annoyed we were there. Staff was not friendly and not very helpful. No customer service. The place is an old fire house which is very cool but is tired looking - regarding the décor, tables/chairs, and set up. Felt dingy too. I was impressed with the menu and found it to have a lot of good options, but the execution was lacking. I got the special - smoked turkey bagel which came with a drink and a side [either chips or potato salad]. The chips are from Gordon's and so is the potato salad, meh. The bagels were great, and I think they were fresh. I noticed some cookies and other baked goods. Overall, this place was fine, not great. It was decently quick and reasonable in price.

Small hidden sandwich place super good great prices. Have a wide selection of coffee and bakery goods! Had peach turnover that was awesome.

Asiago cheese bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese

A very simple breakfast but oh my gosh was it good. I have never had a bagel like this before. I'm so used to bagels being dense and chewy and almost hard. This had a fluffy texture almost akin to bread, not your typical bagel. And that was the great thing about it. It WASN'T your typical bagel. It made me want to eat more. I wanted to keep experiencing this texture that I had never experienced before. Bread but not, bagel but not. The best combo of both. And I'm so glad I chose the Asiago cheese bagel because it went perfectly with the sausage, egg, and cheese that was smooshed in the middle. Ah... one of my biggest food regrets after having left there. I want one so badly now.

The bagels and cream cheese are really good here. They sell Natalie's orange juice. Muffins are ok. Prices are reasonable. A solid stop.

The typical parking lot was fenced off so we had to utilize the street parking nearby. We were told to choose a seat and they'd be right with us. They only opened at 11am, at by the time we got there around 12:30 it was starting to fill up a bit already. My husband got the "in a van down by the river" cocktail, which I tasted, and we both agreed was delicious. For our appetizer, which we had never ordered one before from this establishment, we got the Wisconsin cheese curds. The sauce it came with reminds me of a good sauce for onion rings and was just as amazing on the cheese curds (it was called Sunny ranch I believe). We both got our usual entrees, my husband ordered a double smash burger and I got the atomic punk sandwich, both of which came with fries. My husband devoured his food, while my anxiety basically required me to wait until we got home to eat. I would definitely recommend stopping by The Brick House and grabbing a bite to eat. They have never disappointed us or the people we've sent their way.

The menu has so many interesting and tasty options that it makes it hard to choose what to order first. I got the steak bowl, which comes with an egg and plenty of sautéed peppers, onions and potatoes. Highly recommend. Even the drink options are exciting. Locally made cherry limeade?! Yes please! The ambiance is warm and welcoming, the staff is friendly. Even though you are in the middle of an open-concept business collective, the layout of the restaurant space makes you feel like you are in someone's giant, awesome home kitchen and you can watch as your meal is made. It took me a moment to put my finger on it, but this place gives you the reassurance that your meal is being made by people who enjoy good food. As someone who loves to cook and is on the tail end of a road trip, this was the most relaxed and enjoyable meal I've had in a while. I enjoyed it on so many levels. The restaurant is tucked away inside of a bigger collective of stores, one of which is Dad's Farm, a little grocery with a nice collection of packaged and frozen locally sourced foods. There are other shops in the collective including a coffee shop, brewery, cheese shop, wine shop, and gift shop with great art, cards, jewelry and other clever gifts. It's a nice group of shops where you can pick up some great souvenirs. A quick note about the entrance to the collective: it was not obvious to me, though I might have missed some signage. I was looking at the map on my phone, was on Pleasant St, and passed by the whole thing several times. I almost gave up trying to find it, but I could smell good food, so I finally took a chance on a tinted door near a coffee shop and was happily surprised to find I was in the right spot for Dad's Cafe as well. Give Dad's Farm and Cafe a try, I think you'll really enjoy it!

Or, I did. This person must really need 50 cents badly to actually ignore a customer and to refuse a refund. Your business will not last if you do not have the management skills to back up cooking skills. And this is a small area. When a customer asks you why you charged them something, they are not just asking. It is theft. I expect an answer when I ask that question. My receipt clearly shows a custom charge of 50 cents, for a side of sauce that I did not receive. It was actually supposed to be a dollar because I ordered 2 sides. I sent a message and was told that I was not charged, end of reply. I replied that I was. Instead of sending a refund, they sent me a copy of the current receipt that clearly shows a 50 cent custom charge on it. I am not the blind one here. I messaged again asking what the charge was for, if not for the sauce. No reply. I am also tired of tipping on takeout just to have no one check the orders and for it to go out wrong, no more. What is the tip for? It was 2 items, juice, and some sauce, not hard to get right. Tip in cash only if your order is correct. A normal response would also be to apologize for getting the order wrong to begin with. I have not received another response or a refund so I take it that they feel entitled to take money for items not given. It is not about the amount of money, just the audacity and bad business practices. Shameful behavior. There is nothing special about the menu here so something better will eventually take its place.

The stir fry is not good. The gloopy sauce was excessive and not good, also spicier than expected, but that may not bother others. The sauce needs to be thinned out and reduced by a lot. I did not finish it. They can skip the garlic bread for this dish, does not go together and they put it right in the spicy sauce. I have tried quite a few things here. The chocolate cream pie is just ok and has a thick gelatin puddingy texture. Croissant sandwich is just ok. Scampi had too much cheese and is oily. The ranch dressing is good but ask for extra.
