    Stuffed French toast
    Eric E.

Stopped by for breakfast after being offered a disgusting breakfast at the hotel we're staying at and was happy with our choice. This place was good! When we went the place was packed and the ladies working were really hustling. I got the stuffed french toast with hash browns and I was very impressed. The cream in the center wasn't too sweet and the fruit was fresh. The only downfall is the prices are a bit expensive for what you get and the area, they also nickel and dime you (cheese was $.75, etc.) for extras and the side orders are way too expensive but I think that's the only way they stay profitable. Overall a breakfast for two was around $30 with tip and I think $23 would have been a much fairer price.

On a recent road trip to Chicago we happened to exit near Sidetrack Cafe and decided it was time for breakfast - I'm glad we did. Nice little local spot. Inexpensive, attentive staff. (See photos.)

Did a search for someplace to eat while my super hot wife and I spent the day at Lake Michigan. I am happy to have found this gem... friendly and competent staff and good solid food with ample portions... My farmer's omelet was good ( slightly under seasoned in my opinion, but a dash of pepper fixed that issue) My wife had French toast... I didn't really care for the Bite I stole... that's right, I stole a bite from her plate and there's nothing you can do about it, but she liked it, so that's what matters. My wife caught a glimpse of a sign on the refrigerator that said "let go and let God ", And that means a lot to me :-) give this place a try, you will not walk away unhappy

Quick shot of inside, trying not to be creepy...

Lovely all day type of cafe close to the main shopping area on Phoenix…read more Order at the counter and there is ample seating inside, at the front entrance (covered patio), and in the back (patio is two levels and there's also outdoor seating on the ground level). I could see this place getting very busy, but the times I went it wasn't too bad. Friendly staff at the counter. The lady bird sandwich was tasty and I was very full after it! Husband got a breakfast wrap (it comes pre made in foil behind the counter if that would impact your decision on whether to get it). Tasty nonetheless. Also got a cinnamon roll which was good, a bit sweet of course, but something I'd get again to split! Would stop by here again if you're in the area!

They had a great variety of salads, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks, so it took us a minute to decide. We ordered the Fiesta Wrap (8/10). It was really good, but I think it could have used a little more seasoning. The salsa definitely helped bring everything together though. We also got the Wise Guy, which was a 10/10. It was filling, made with fresh ingredients, and came with a side of kettle chips that were also really good. For dessert, we got a cookie that was moist, soft, and pulled apart easily. Definitely worth trying. I also ordered a small iced s'mores latte. It tasted more like a mocha than a s'mores latte, but I didn't mind because it was still enjoyable. Even though they seemed pretty busy, the service was efficient and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. Overall, a great spot with fresh food, plenty of options, and good service. I'd definitely come back.

We ordered lattes, a ginger shot, and avocado toast with an egg over easy. My latte I ordered with lavender. So yummy! The portions were large. The avocado toast was okay. I would probably get something else off the menu. Everyone else's food looked amazing! Our avocado toast came with four pieces. The toast wasn't toasted. We weren't able to pick up our toast. Lots of avocado which was great. We added an egg, which really covered one piece of toast. I would probably go with the breakfast tacos or omelette next time. The people were so kind! The coffee tasted like ground asphalt mixed with cleaning solution, and the latte was completely undrinkable. To top it off, there were flies crawling on the big, beautiful muffins displayed by the door -- definitely not what you want to see before breakfast. For $25 for two coffees and two muffins, I expected something special -- not a science experiment gone wrong in a cup. The service made things worse. We felt rushed out the door as staff kept stopping by every couple of minutes to take something away -- a spoon, a knife, a plate -- each on separate trips. It was absurd. Aesthetically, Clifford's nails it. But between the awful coffee, the flies, and the constant interruptions, it was an expensive disappointment. Beautiful place, but we won't be back.

The menu has so many interesting and tasty options that it makes it hard to choose what to order first. I got the steak bowl, which comes with an egg and plenty of sautéed peppers, onions and potatoes. Highly recommend. Even the drink options are exciting. Locally made cherry limeade?! Yes please! The ambiance is warm and welcoming, the staff is friendly. Even though you are in the middle of an open-concept business collective, the layout of the restaurant space makes you feel like you are in someone's giant, awesome home kitchen and you can watch as your meal is made. It took me a moment to put my finger on it, but this place gives you the reassurance that your meal is being made by people who enjoy good food. As someone who loves to cook and is on the tail end of a road trip, this was the most relaxed and enjoyable meal I've had in a while. I enjoyed it on so many levels. The restaurant is tucked away inside of a bigger collective of stores, one of which is Dad's Farm, a little grocery with a nice collection of packaged and frozen locally sourced foods. There are other shops in the collective including a coffee shop, brewery, cheese shop, wine shop, and gift shop with great art, cards, jewelry and other clever gifts. It's a nice group of shops where you can pick up some great souvenirs. A quick note about the entrance to the collective: it was not obvious to me, though I might have missed some signage. I was looking at the map on my phone, was on Pleasant St, and passed by the whole thing several times. I almost gave up trying to find it, but I could smell good food, so I finally took a chance on a tinted door near a coffee shop and was happily surprised to find I was in the right spot for Dad's Cafe as well. Give Dad's Farm and Cafe a try, I think you'll really enjoy it!

The food here is ok but apparently they want to lose a customer over refusing to refund an item…read morethat was not given, like I don't spend enough in their expensive store on a regular basis anyway. Or, I did. This person must really need 50 cents badly to actually ignore a customer and to refuse a refund. Your business will not last if you do not have the management skills to back up cooking skills. And this is a small area. When a customer asks you why you charged them something, they are not just asking. It is theft. I expect an answer when I ask that question. My receipt clearly shows a custom charge of 50 cents, for a side of sauce that I did not receive. It was actually supposed to be a dollar because I ordered 2 sides. I sent a message and was told that I was not charged, end of reply. I replied that I was. Instead of sending a refund, they sent me a copy of the current receipt that clearly shows a 50 cent custom charge on it. I am not the blind one here. I messaged again asking what the charge was for, if not for the sauce. No reply. I am also tired of tipping on takeout just to have no one check the orders and for it to go out wrong, no more. What is the tip for? It was 2 items, juice, and some sauce, not hard to get right. Tip in cash only if your order is correct. A normal response would also be to apologize for getting the order wrong to begin with. I have not received another response or a refund so I take it that they feel entitled to take money for items not given. It is not about the amount of money, just the audacity and bad business practices. Shameful behavior. There is nothing special about the menu here so something better will eventually take its place.
