My family has been coming here for years as we have a summer cottage nearby. They recently, in the past 5 years freshened up the interior decore and it is a pleasant, clean look. Clean bathrooms. Food is consistently delicious. We mostly go for breakfast. One of my favorites is the Sunrise Sandwich which is a fried egg and American cheese, shaved hame (or sausage or bacon as you choose), and the french bread it is on is fantastic. Comes with hash browns, which l have had before and they are crispy and grilled perfectly. Definitely a local dining spot. My fruit cup was super good too. Can be chilly with the AC on in the summer so bring a jacket. Staff are very friendly and always flitting around. Sometimes you have to flag them down for napkins or a beverage refill, but they always do that with a smile on their faces. Highly recommend! read more

Unfortunately, I ordered the California omelete, expecting there to be sliced avocado but instead the entire omelete was mashed avacodo as if i ordered a bowl of quacomole, this made the omelete very slimmy. Very expensive breakfast to not be able to eat it. On a postitive note the waitress was friendly and the american fries were crispy. A small town treasure fine for a tourist. Just off main Road of red arrow the restaurant oddly enough as it's back to red arrow so it was hard to find it.....recommended by locals, we had to check it out and we were very very glad we did.. now I have a new Restaurant to brag about to visitors Service was fast but I would say average in most aspects. Ambiance was "well- established" ( read well-used) but both of those definitely get excused to emphasize the food!!! Wow, where did this come from? There is an international specials menu - my title for it - that astounds and breakfast dishes that I am going to have to check off as I order them. My friend had the eggs benedict omelette which she said was absolutely wonderful and it looked great,. I had a special French toast, which is really more like a dessert is very sweet but excellent. I think there's a picture on up already of that. We drove about 20 miles. I guess to get through this little spot and I'll be back riding 20 miles one way 20 miles back. It's great. This place is sitting right at the point of the road when you enter coloma Michigan. The parking is tight and can be tough but it's worth the effort to try the great menu. The food is amazing for Celiac people this is a good choice as we know it's hit or miss with restaurants and their gluten standards. I did not have any reaction to the food. Plus the food was amazing. The waitress made sure we was getting it did sin and made sure the food was good. Refills was on time never had an empty cup. This is a typical hometown diner. However the food is always good. Items are cooked well. You get a good amount of food for the price. The part that stands out to me is the service. The girls working here are always so sweet. This is definitely a place for locals but they treat everyone with the same respect. They updated their indoor decor recently. Yuck. The staff was friendly but the food is just plain bad. Seriously, even the pancakes were inedible. I'm not picky about breakfast food and was sorely disappointed. Honestly, in my 50 years, this was one of the worst meals I've had. A friend who works nearby told me their lunch is just as bad. I feel awful giving such a poor review but I tried it a few times and never get a different result so feel the need to warn anyone considering eating here. I don't know about leaving this review but I went in with the intentions of leaving a review for this place so I will. I had the " Vi's Stack" (hash browns, eggs and sausage gravy) for some reason my stomach was upset by the food. I don't know if it's fair to blame the food or my stomach but that's the way it is. Food is pretty good. However, they always screw up my food or take a really long time when it isnt even busy. I've been there around 6 times thinking it's going to be different. It's, unfortunately, my husband's favorite place for a burger. Some of the things I've ran into, they forgot we were seated there twice, ran out of what I wanted didn't tell me until well after, gave us the wrong food on two occasions, forgot to put in my take out order so I had to wait twice as long. Wife and I were out for our normal sunday morning drive , looking for a place to eat breakfast, we were in Coloma and we always look for little dives with lots of cars at them to eat. well all the other places had 2 or 3 cars at them . the Hot Spot had a dozen or more so we stopped. Went there for breakfast just 2 of us waited 30 minutes asked server said it was coming right up waited 10 more minutes and decided to leave. On the way out told server why we were leaving the owner said why were we leaving and I told him about the 40 minute wait he said don't bullshit me it hasn't been 40 minutes and then I started telling him that a table of 5 came in 5 minutes after us and they have gotten there food and 2 other tables that came in after us have already been served. He said d bullshit I have been checking ticket times so I said get the ticket and check the time. He said get out and don't ever come back. My wife and I could not believe his response to that so needless to say we will never go back there and will tell everybody I know about how we were treated. read more

Food is good and great portions! I had Vi's Pie and it was A LOT. I barely made a dent in it. It was hash browns, eggs, gravy, and cheese all piled in one. A spot for the Coloma locals......... If they don't know you, you can be ignored. A local "HOT SPOT" because they have deals on early morning breakfasts. Waited forever to be served yet the folks that came in after us were served before we could even place an order. Not the cleanest establishment either and the way tables were cleared and cleaned left me questioning their sanitary procedures. Never order soft poached eggs because it took them three tries to get it right and by the time I got them (a half hour later) everything else on my plate was cold. No fruit on their menu and that is hard to believe when there are two fruit stands within 5 minutes. The HOT SPOT is off my list of places to eat................ read more
