This is a paczki review. I liked the raspberry, apricot, strawberry cream, and tart cherry paczkis the best. The custard and lemon were also good. I did not like the apple. Applesauce is not a good filling. The dough was thick and lightly sweet. I got there early in the morning and there many ready to go, even without a pre-order. I have visited Sandra Kay's since I discovered it years ago. And love it. They probably have the best bakery items I've ever had (love the dream bars). It's a nice cozy place for lunch with a friend. The only negative I could mention is how nice it would be if you are greeted, at least acknowledged. I don't think the young lady behind the counter was very interested in customers. read more

Because it's off the beaten path, I tend to forget about this place. Last trip, I ordered the tuna melt. Which was perfect. The bread alone in this shop is worth a stop. But for some reason, the kitchen is slow for how simple the menu is. Even premade sandwiches like egg salad (which is the most incredible) take a while to come out. My husband ordered a decorated birthday cake for my birthday, which happens to be on July 4th. (Yes, Independence Day). He told the person who took the order that he wanted it decorated for the 4th of July with red white and blue etc. when we went to pick it up, he told me that he has no idea of what he is going to get but he felt the person who took the order seemed to have no idea of what the 4th of July is. And boy was he right! It truly was the ugliest decorated cake I have ever seen! I have had a lot of cakes decorated for the 4th and they had flowers, flags, etc in red white and blue. This cake literally had a message on the top in red white and blue and some globs of blue and red icing around the border. Just awful. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed. This cake was pricey and certainly not worth the money. We won't be buying decorated cakes from there again. My wife and I Stopped in here on a Wednesday after dropping the kids at school we were planning on just grabbing a pastry but to our surprise the menu board had many breakfast and lunch options so I ordered the French toast, figuring with their own cinnamon bread it should be good well I was wrong because it was great. My wife had the crustless Quiche and it was a winner as well. This is a hidden gem for a quick yummy breakfast and I'll need to come back and try the lunch offerings. read more

I can only speak for a few items. One the BLT on bread that has not been toasted. No need to toast bread that is this fresh. One of my favorite sandwiches in SWMI. Two is the peanut butter bar. Oh my. Amazing! I am sure everything is delicious as these two items. read more

This a wonderful little bakery that has a small menu for breakfast and lunch. I stopped by on a recent business trip and was glad I did. Having a sweet tooth, this place fit the bill with a great selection of cookies, muffins, brownies, cupcakes, cakes, breads and the list goes on. What a quaint place to swing by for a light bite and some sweets, while visiting wineries in Michigan wine country! My gals and I enjoyed a variety of salads, sandwiches, quiche, and cookies. The salads were fresh and full of a plethora of veggies. The sandwiches were great. Not only were they huge, but the bread is baked fresh in the establishment every morning. Yes!! The quiche did not disappoint and there were about one million desserts offered, which is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth! The staff was attentive and helpful. To make a long story short, the cake I ordered looked like a 9 year old made it. All the details I gave them from colors to details about what I wanted on the cake was completely wrong. When I returned the cake the owner was furious and rude, telling me to never step foot in her bakery again. ( trust me I won't lady) No apology or customer service skills.
