Cute spot for salsa dancing. They have a class prior and a separate area with a DJ by the bar. It is very warm inside. Food was good we got some appetizers. Service was good as well. Parking lot can get full but there is one.

My first time at Brix was for a friends birthday. The place is aptly named, with the interior having many bricks! Staff was very friendly and bar service was quick. The bartender remembered my order each time. The group shared some pizzas for the table and those pizzas were ON POINT! Delish!! My favorite was the drunken uncle, however each one was hot, flavorful and crispy.

Met some friends for food and drinks last night. Great music, ample seating and cool vibe. Conveniently located in a strip mall hence easy parking. I wasn't able to join in on the food tasting nor drinks, but my friends ordered a few meatball appetizers, wings, salmon and salad entree and clam pasta and dessert. if you're seeking a quiet intimate setting on a Friday evening this is not the place for you. they have a live dj with some pretty cool music including hop hop, reggae, latin music. old school goodies including freestyle. There was only one disappointment-when I checked in via Yelp, there was an offer for a free cheese pizza but when presented, it was refused for NO reason. we purchased entrees, appetizers, dessert and at least 9/10 alcoholic drinks. We understand businesses are suffering (perhaps) but would have been nice to decline in a gentle manner or at least follow up as to why they couldn't honor it. Either way, my friends go regularly and I would return just need to polish up that staff member a bit perhaps. overall we had a great time and so did the rest of the guests.

I ordered off door dash and the lunch sampler said it was different pastas and that is not what they sent me. Apparently the menu on door dash is wrong. I called to tell them that they need to fix their menu and the woman who answered the phone hung up on me. I also ordered bruschetta and the toast was burnt. I will never order from Brix ever again.

I ordered takeout and it was not good. The spinach artichoke pizza was covered in a strange concealed white sauce that I at first thought was cheese but I think it may be Alfredo sauce thickened with corn starch, it was very off-putting. I ordered penne vodka for my daughter because it's her favorite, it was mostly flavorless other than a strong flavor of black pepper. My husband got the best dish, in which the grilled chicken was overcooked and so overly peppered that he couldn't taste the jalapeno mayo. I was hoping this was going to be our next great spot but it wasn't what I expected.

Sunday's dinner night brings us to Brix in Belleville. It's a bar/restaurant in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Dress is very casual which is perfect for me after a game or practice. Inside is very clean and very old school looking. We made reservations online and went right in and got a both. Very smooth. We got the fried calamari and the cheese and meat board(provolone, prosciutto, capicola, fried eggplant, stuffed long hot, artichoke hearts, and a fig jam) for appetizers. Calamari was not chewy at all and the appetizer board was phenomenal. For dinner, the wife and myself got the chicken parm and the kid got his usual Buffalo Chicken. For checking in, we got a free cheese pie. So we had plenty of food. Pies were nice and thin. Just my style. The Buffalo Chicken pie was excellent with chunky blue cheese dressing on it. Out of this world. Chicken parm was excellent. I loved the sauce. Had a little spicy kick to it and the breading on the chicken had a little spice to it as well. The coating was a LITTLE too thick but nothing major. Chicken itself was nice and tender.... no need for a knife. Why only four stars? Service started out solid but then, all of a sudden, it became pretty tough. Our waiter just kept walking by and basically ignoring us. Even after making eye contact and thought he acknowledged that he was coming over but nope; he kept on walking. It was too the point that my EXTREMELY quiet wife had to call him over to get the check. It was just very odd. Besides that little hiccup, very solid all around. Plenty of food as we brought home almost a whole pie between the two of them and 3 pieces of chicken.

Love their food. Flavorful and fresh. Great service too. My daughter got their Chicken Parmesan entree. I didn't get a pic of it but it was delicious.

Guy seemed overwhelmed and reluctantly took my order. I showed up 30 min later and no one had any record of my order. I recognized the guy's voice and told him he took my order. He was pissed and got into a shouting match with me with 3 other customers around. He eventually apologized and offered a free side of meatballs and spaghetti (don't order that btw, super underwhelming). 2nd time: Wife placed an order for a pie with half pepperoni on their website. Came back with the order and the pie had full toppings. Small nit but annoying. 3rd time: I called at 6pm on a Thursday. No one picked up. Opted to place order on their website and got the same item as last time. Showed up at and the same miserable guy asked for my name and order... and then said he didn't have any order. I told him I placed an order on the website... and he said "You should have called." with an awful (only a mother can love) grin. I showed him my email confirming 6:20pm pickup time and he said he had no order... before pulling a pie with my name on it. I asked if it had half pepperoni and it didn't. Full toppings AGAIN. Clearly, their website is not equipped to actually take half toppings orders. Pizza is OK but not worth the headache or poor service here.

Pros: - Quick and friendly service - Crunch bottom pizza slices for those who love eating it this way - Opens late on the weekends until 2am - Want coffee?? Dunkin is next door but they close a lot earlier than here Cons: - Limited seating area - Small parking lot but late night there's always a spot Come check them out for a late night slice!

We spotted Blue Steel which had good, modern curb appeal to our hungry tummies. It looks like downtown Bloomfield is having a moment with some new condos and nicer restaurants coming in. Thanks, gentrification!? Inside has a clubby, bar vibe and we were seated at a hightop near the bar. I love a good wedge salad. I prefer the classic but I appreciate BSP's variation that has tomato, cucumbers, crispy frizzled onions, feta cheese, homemade ranch dressing, and everything sprinkle seasoning. It was generously sized and refreshing. And there's nothing but good things to say about the Detroit-style ezzo pepperoni pie, except that i wish I had a bigger stomach to eat MORE. After the salad (shared), I was only able to manage one slice, but it was a happy slice. My first time trying Detroit-style and it didn't disappoint. PS: There's a tiny, very lumpy and bumpy parking lot in the back that is very tricky to maneuver back out of. If it hadn't been for an Uber driver who got briefly trapped back in there with me, I might still be there today

There is no…read moreshortage of pizza, as they have anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 pizza restaurants using their family recipe to make some of the best pizzas in America. As the third-largest producer of tomatoes in the entire country, this key pizza-making ingredient not only sets New Jersey's classic 'tomato pies' apart from any ordinary pizza. This 10,000-square-foot, two-story establishment with a neon-lit sign on Glenwood Ave in Bloomfield asks, "Just another pizzeria?" They also house a 20-seat speakeasy that's open Thursday through Saturday called the Rab.bit Hole that can be found upstairs behind a hidden entrance. Opened in 2020, Blue Steel Pizza Company is the answer and should become obvious after looking at the menu. A reservation was easily made via Resy. My partner and I were greeted at the host station and got a regular table in the 1st-floor dining room by the pizza oven in the middle. The vibe was modern and industrial. Patrons had to use their phone flashlights to read the menu as the lighting was pretty dim. They are known for their Detroit-style pizza--a pie baked in a rectangular, traditionally blue-steel pan, the kind once used by autoworkers. It's made with a blend of mozzarella cheese and traditional Wisconsin brick cheese that melts down the side of the pie, making for a burnt, gooey, cheesy crust. It's cold-fermented for three days and is closer to sourdough. It has real flavor and an airier texture. It's like a lighter version of a Sicilian with a buttery crust. As a starter, we decided on the Chopped Salad. For our main entrée, we opted for the Jersey Tomato Pizza Pie. Portions run big enough for sharing, and we downed them with the 1911 Cider. The pizza crust was light, airy, and crispy with the right amount of fresh ingredients, making the ensemble tastefully delicious. The staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating, and our server was Adam. The price was comparable to the area. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this place.

I know it sort of changed management to a lovely guy whose name I don't remember who when he first took over came out with samples of delicious specialty pizza and warmly greeted everyone. I placed an order for delivery two days ago. The pizza was good as usual but the lentil soup was really salty, no exaggeration enough to overpower any taste of lentils - I added two cups of water and threw in some ditalini, added garlic, and it was still salty. I'm not sure why that would happen but here's a full proof way to make good lentil soup: per pound of dry lentils, first sautee a chopped medium onion, chopped large stalk of celery and a large or two medium size carrots, two cloves of chopped garlic in some olive oil, then add the lentils, and around 3-4 inches of water above the line of lentils and allow to simmer, don't add salt until it's closer to the lentils being cooked. People with high blood pressure or pregnant cannot handle the amount of salt that was added. It was worse than canned soup. I have ordered it before, last time was around 4 years ago and it was fine. Of course, it may just be an error or a new person making the soup. I have thought that since the change in management, maybe a seasoned Italian woman cook in the kitchen might be a good addition to at least train the staff. I get the impression that the staff are more pizza makers than cooks. I ordered an artichoke not long ago that tasted good but was not fully cooked, my friend ordered lasagne that was covered in mozzarella and was probably over microwaved or however it is heated, and was like paste. This isn't intended to be rude but to point out that for the most part I like your food but feel like certain things can use more care.
