Came here for dinner and they have 3 different types of ambiance- the bar which is loud and lively, In between where its better lit but can still hear the bar chatter/music, The top which is quiet and a bit fancier looking. I had no issues and liked the options. Drinks tasted good and were a good normal size with a reasonable price! Service was also good, was helped and talked to enough to have a pleasant dinner. Now my biggest down side was with the food unfortunately, just was a bit bland and at a high price. We went with spinach artichoke dip, apaella and a stuffed chicken, bill came out to 125. Met some friends for food and drinks last night. Great music, ample seating and cool vibe. Conveniently located in a strip mall hence easy parking. I wasn't able to join in on the food tasting nor drinks, but my friends ordered a few meatball appetizers, wings, salmon and salad entree and clam pasta and dessert. if you're seeking a quiet intimate setting on a Friday evening this is not the place for you. they have a live dj with some pretty cool music including hop hop, reggae, latin music. old school goodies including freestyle. There was only one disappointment-when I checked in via Yelp, there was an offer for a free cheese pizza but when presented, it was refused for NO reason. we purchased entrees, appetizers, dessert and at least 9/10 alcoholic drinks. We understand businesses are suffering (perhaps) but would have been nice to decline in a gentle manner or at least follow up as to why they couldn't honor it. Amazing pricing, high quality food. We order the Silver Bundle all the time and have always enjoyed the copious amount of food, including a family-sized rigatoni vodka tray, two 12" pizzas, a salad, and bread. The rigatoni vodka tray is particularly divine. For a very reasonable price, you can feed your whole family with a high-quality meal and still have leftovers. My only complaint is the very long time it takes to deliver the food. I live 10 minutes away from the restaurant, but each time it order, we receive the food 2 hours after ordering. We usually order on Doordash, but the restaurant uses their own delivery personnel and thus the delivery cannot be tracked. Collectively, these issues once resulted in us having to order a separate meal as we were unsure if the food was even going to come. After ordering pickup once and receiving our food immediately, we confirmed that the problem is the delivery system. read more

The spinach artichoke pizza was covered in a strange concealed white sauce that I at first thought was cheese but I think it may be Alfredo sauce thickened with corn starch, it was very off-putting. I ordered penne vodka for my daughter because it's her favorite, it was mostly flavorless other than a strong flavor of black pepper. My husband got the best dish, in which the grilled chicken was overcooked and so overly peppered that he couldn't taste the jalapeno mayo. Sunday's dinner night brings us to Brix in Belleville. It's a bar/restaurant in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Dress is very casual which is perfect for me after a game or practice. Inside is very clean and very old school looking. We made reservations online and went right in and got a both. Very smooth. We got the fried calamari and the cheese and meat board(provolone, prosciutto, capicola, fried eggplant, stuffed long hot, artichoke hearts, and a fig jam) for appetizers. Calamari was not chewy at all and the appetizer board was phenomenal. For dinner, the wife and myself got the chicken parm and the kid got his usual Buffalo Chicken. For checking in, we got a free cheese pie. So we had plenty of food. Pies were nice and thin. Just my style. The Buffalo Chicken pie was excellent with chunky blue cheese dressing on it. Out of this world. Chicken parm was excellent. I loved the sauce. Had a little spicy kick to it and the breading on the chicken had a little spice to it as well. The coating was a LITTLE too thick but nothing major. Chicken itself was nice and tender.... no need for a knife. Why only four stars? Service started out solid but then, all of a sudden, it became pretty tough. Our waiter just kept walking by and basically ignoring us. Even after making eye contact and thought he acknowledged that he was coming over but nope; he kept on walking. It was too the point that my EXTREMELY quiet wife had to call him over to get the check. It was just very odd. Besides that little hiccup, very solid all around. I ordered from Brix once a while ago and it was not memorable so never tried again. It came up as suggested in the Slice app today, so I figured why not give it another try. It is now 2 hrs 25 mins later and my food has still not arrived. The restaurant lies every time they are contacted and says that it left 5 mins ago and will arrive in 5-10 mins. I live 8 mins away and after missing 3 promised delivery times, this is clearly a lie. Not sure why they play games and piss off customers instead of being honest. Don't waste your time or money here. Skip this place and order somewhere else that is more honest and has better food. I will never order here again and will discourage anyone that asks me about it. read more

For dinner we ordered 2 meatloaf meals that come with mashed potatoes. We were really excited to eat and have been here several times before. After approx 25mins we saw a gentlemen. Pass our table with 2 plated meatloafs. He placed one on a neighboring table and left with the other. It was obvious he approached the wrong table. After some time, our server went to that table, took the meatloaf back to the kitchen, and less than 2mins later they came out with the plate. We expressed our concern and he aggressively took the 2 plates off our table bumping into me with one of them. I found out the guys name was Anthony. I will not be dining here anymore. I recommend that anyone who does be mindful of bad practice and etiquette. A manager never came to talk to us. While New Jersey has way too many Italian American spots, Brix proved to be a pretty unique experience overall. The highlight for us was the Drunken Eggplant, essentially eggplant parm drenched in vodka sauce. Yea, it's that good. Their live music was actually pretty entertaining. I have been coming to Brix now for a while, I have had many parties upstairs in their dining room area. The latest one we had was a surprise party for my dad's 80th birthday, Not disappointed at all with the parties that I have had there, Melissa is absolutely wonderful! Whenever I need something she is right on top of it!! she is on the ball with everything! I like doing business with Melissa. One of the main reasons why I go back there is because of Melissa, Really don't like working with anyone else but her. The rest of the staff there is great also, but Melissa tends to work in a friendship when you deal with her and that is nice. The food is absolutely wonderful at the parties we have there, never disappointed at all! The only thing I have a problem with is after having so many parties there you would think they would give you a little discount on the price, but they don't. I have another party coming up this September, and I'm sure everything will be wonderful as usual, just not happy that I am not dealing with Melissa anymore, they have somebody else in charge of that now so we will see how that goes. Brix is a really nice place. Great bar area. Been here two times in the last month. So my review is for both visits. There is the bar area with a few tables, a small room with about 6 tables and then a larger room with 15 tables plus the outside. The potatoes, sausage and long hots appetizer is absolutely the best I've had. Potatoes are sliced like chips, sausage was tender and the peppers were perfectly hot. Lobster Mac and Cheese was delicious. A bit overly cheesy but still was great. Meatballs were very good, came with a dollop of ricotta and sauce. Chicken Scarpariello was awesome. Chicken was so tender and the whole dish was flavor. Pork Chop Scarpariello (special) was super tender and juicy. Again, another hit with flavor. Fig, Burrata, Prosciutto and arugula pizza !! Outstanding!!!! Definitely will be back and very happy to recommend. This may be my hometown favorite. read more

Not only was the food salty, extremely greasy but also cold. We ordered the usual which was eggplant rollitini, penne vodka with shrimp, calamari and mozzarella sticks.
