Love this place! This is gonna be my new Sunday brunch spot. Ordered the chop and eggs and it was amazing, the sauce they used was a nice combination..the kids loved the waffles and the wife devoured her chicken waffles which I tried myself and it was delish. Most important the service was spot on, everybody super nice especially Stephanie. Her daughter was our server and she surely takes after her Mom in personality and work ethic. As a first timer, I was immediately impressed by how friendly the staff is. The food is great, bloody marys were excellent and the over medium eggs were cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a casual experience with a hint of fine dining then this is the spot for you. Bonus: if you like sport ball, they got a tv by the bar! Win. Win. read more

So, as a personal favor, I recently did visuals for a private party at Brix 581 held for the Miso Horny BurningMan group. Our group paid extra to have the venue opened at 7:00 PM for setup. However, despite the fact that our doors were at 9:00 PM, the sound and lighting engineer for the venue did not arrive until 9:15. Not only were the CDJ's not set up correctly as requested in our events rider (Ancient CDJ 1000 MK2's btw, with an outdated DJM 900), there were also Technic record players setup on the extremely cramped stage. In order to setup both my gear, and 10k Christie projector, I had to move the record players off to the side of the stage. Upon arriving at 9:15, the venue sound guy launched into a tirade about how I was "disrespecting" his equipment, and should have waited for him to arrive before setting up anything. When I apologized for moving his equipment, but indicated that he was 15 minutes late ], his exact response was "Doors are when there is a line down the street, doors are when I say they are". This was incredibly unprofessional, especially since we had rented the venue and paid extra to have doors at 7:00 PM. He then threatened to "throw my equipment off of the stage", which is incredibly enraging as a professional artist. The problems continued throughout the night. The venue/audio and lighting guy for Brix ended up actually leaving the venue directly after setting up the sound, leaving the house lights on (we had to track down the venue owner to turn them off), and it became clear that the venue's DJM 900 had clear issues (whether this was due to faulty cables, or just several faults with the mixer). The problems greatly increased when we brought on our headliner (Bachelor's of Science), who was kind enough to show up an hour in advance to tech his set. He indicated to me that one of the CDJ's was missing a power cable, and was not playing back correctly, due to a faulty cable. I was forced yet again to track down the Brix staff, who was unable to locate the sound guy. At all. I must add that the staff on hand was incredibly courteous, and was able to, after some time, procure us the requested cables, which I then set up for our headliner. 30 Minutes later, the sound guy finally showed up. I warned him that we had been experiencing technical issues. Approx 15 minutes later, the low end amplifiers upstairs popped and gave out (Clearly indicating that their house limiter is not properly set up). This resulted in complete loss of audio upstairs, and an incredibly embarrassing 25 minutes of dead audio time while I once again, was forced to track down the audio guy for the venue. Bachelors of Science was a good sport about things, however, he indicated to us that it was one of the worst venues that he had ever played at. The only reason we were able to get the audio back at all was that I actually had to instruct the audio guy on how to reset the dedicated amps (they wasted approx. 15 minutes checking speaker connections, and clearly knew nothing about venue sound). I will never ever step foot in this venue ever again. I hope that any other professionals that end up reading this, or anyone looking to host their private event or party at this venue reads this and decides to choose another venue. read more

This bar is ran by the same owners as lounge 3411 with that being said you can expect great services from everyone working behind the bar. Brix having two stories is ideal for parties the atmosphere is great along with prices for the drinks. Stephen does a great job switching up the menu to keep your taste buds intrigued though, my personal opinion some choices are a hit or miss. My favorite things to order when im there are: mac and cheese and the sriracha hot wings (which i highly recommend). The brunch menu for sundays are okay but a bit pricey, it also took me about an hour for my shrimp and grits to be delivered with it tasting just okay. Karaoke nights on thursdays is pretty empty but, their kj is really chill and this is when you can see stephen at his creative peak with special dish you would prob. Never get at any bar like the braised pork miso udon. Overall, i highly recommend this place for large parties or hosting your fundraiser/birthday parties and coming for live karaoke to get more singing rotations in. read more

BRIX Is off the hook! I never write any reviews, but for this spot..a raving review is a must! I found out about this place through one of my homegirls, and since my first visit last year (for brunch one random Sunday)..I've been coming back ever since! They have a cute section upstairs perfect for private parties/events. My girls threw my bridal shower here and we also attended our High school reunion here as well..so the good word is def spreading. The owner Steph is so sweet & accommodating as well, they never disappoint. Love this place! Bacon bloody Mary's & the shrimp/grits makes my Sunday every time! read more

Was at Brix 581 based on the yelp reviews on Super Bowl Sunday. We had a party of six and the waitress was good, very attentive. I ordered the chicken fried steak, eggs and biscuit, my daughter ordered the pork chops. My steak was extremely tough, loaded with tendons and not very tasty. My daughter said the pork chops were inedible. Based on that experience I'm curious if we just got a bad batch of food, maybe the cook was off sick or hungover, but whatever the case, we'll not be going back. The food was horrible. read more

It's in a bit of a dicey area so don't be shocked when you park. It's a little dive bar but the staff was clean and attentive and the food was interesting. Good service good food. Nice staff that made us comfortable and well taken care of. read more
