Ok I get it now, and the 50 deep line wait was worth it. This place makes 1 thing: donuts. And it makes 1 style of donut only: fried, glazed and delicious. No frills, old school cash registers, cash only, but holy @#$% do they make an exceptional one! The prices are legit. Buck twenty five for one, $7 for half a dozen, and $13 for a dozen. We ordered half a dozen and when we got home we were pleasantly surprised to have 8 in the bag. Was this an error? I doubt it. Was it because of the wait? Highly doubt that again since there's always a wait. And $7 for 8 of these bad boys is a steal. And now for the actual donut... They are hand made so you get all different shapes and sizes. These puppies are pulled fresh from the fryer and served piping hot. They're covered in glaze, but not the kind that is thick and just sticks on top. CASH ONLY. This spot is very popular and is a tourist must do. I was lucky enough to be here on the off-season so my wait was about 20 minutes. Ordering at the counter was very simple and it was casual. They only do takeout and counter service. They also only do one type of doughnut, a simple plain glazed doughnut. However, they do it very well. They have the option of ordering single donuts, bags of six, and bags of a dozen. Also, they have tax baked into the price, which I loved. No fiddling with coins! The actual line to order was very short, but then people wait around the shop for their name to be called. My donuts came out piping hot, and I was so excited to try one. Someone in my group called them funnel cakes with glaze, which was a perfect way to describe them. They are light, fluffy, and it's very easy to eat an infinite number of them. Overall, I would say this place is definitely worth stopping into. For the price and quality, you really can't beat it. I'd imagine they get really busy during tourist season and that the wait gets much longer, so just be ready for that. Definitely worth waiting for. The batter they use is different than Krispy Kreme or Dunkin donut. I want to say it's similar to funnel cake. The donuts are delicious but I would recommend eating them the same day. If you can't appreciate the simple things in life, then something is wrong with you. Now, if only they could have consistency for every one of my visits. They taste the best when they're freshly deep-fried. You can tell the difference when it's been sitting out for a bit after being cooked. It just doesn't taste as good and doesn't melt in your mouth. Regardless, it is a cheap donut and it satisfies my sugar glazed donut craving. I can never just eat only one at a time, so I usually get at least half a dozen. Depending on the time and day how busy it gets will fluctuate. It's always very busy on opening weekend. But on a Friday early evening in the first week of June, there were barely any people and no wait. Still cash only. The prices have increased slightly over the years but still cheap.
