And because why the heck not, I also got a toffee pecan shortbread cookie. Why eat just one cookie when you can eat two? While I was there, I got probably the best iced tea I've had in a long time: the holy basil tulsi, which was wonderfully green-tasting and mellow. They have a good selection of all kinds of teas, from rooibos to herbal to black to white to oolong to green and more. But if you're looking for something different, I highly recommend the holy basil tulsi! I'm kind of kicking myself for not buying some of that tea while I was there, because I would love to enjoy it at home. They do sell their teas, so if you're smarter than I am, you will get some tea to take home. One of the great things about HumaniTea is that all of their teas are humanely sourced. They are very invested in combating slavery and human trafficking. So you can feel good that the tea leaves you're enjoying were responsibly sourced. That's a feather in your cap (and in your cup). Another neat thing about HumaniTea is that they offer local kombucha by the growler! I don't think I've ever heard of kombucha on tap, so that's pretty unique.

Le Serving Spoon is a bakery and cafe and it's a nice little lunch spot. Their sandwiches and soups…read moreare scrumptious. I'm not normally a sandwich person, but these are very yummy. Make sure to grab a bakery treat to go! They also have a catering and custom cake service. We had them cater our wedding reception and the food was amazing! We got so many compliments about the food. And all of our guests scarfed down the equally delicious cake, leaving absolutely no leftovers for the newlyweds.

My second stop at Le Serving Spoon was like the first - that is, nice but not extraordinary…read more I had the blueberry pancakes with a side of scrambled egg and a chai latte. The blueberries were fresh, but seemed dropped into the pancakes as they cooked, as they were like large pockets on one side only. The side they were on seemed a scooch underdone. The egg was very good - a little on the dry side, which I like. If I could put my finger on the one area for improvement, I would call it "flow." Unless you've been there before, it's not totally clear how things work. There are a couple menus on the tables, but you have to place your order at the counter. The coffee appears to be self-serve, but it's not gratis. They also ran out of mugs and served some items in to-go cups; they also ran out of coffee and the replacement batch took several minutes. On a Saturday morning around 9, there were a handful of tables occupied but it seems like they were staffed for less. These are certainly not huge obstacles, but it makes the experience a little less user-friendly. On our way out we forgot to buy the bakery items (s'mores bars - omg) we'd ogled while placing our orders. Boo on us.
