I had no idea. 45th Parallel's Candy World (Yelp administrators, please correct your spelling) is a tiny shop on the side of a restaurant, but it has a hundred years of memories inside. Everything from clove candy, bubble gum cigars, big league chew, sour pucker powder, and even a giant Sugar Daddy. But behind the case are around twenty flavors of truly decadent, top-quality, gourmet fudge. Flavors such as dark chocolate salted caramel, bubble gum, maple nut, and peanut butter chocolate (complete with halved Reese's cups on top) tease the eyes while making the salivary glands work overtime. Our family's favorite is the dark chocolate salted caramel- the perfect amount of sea salt, and not at all bitter. Check the board outside for specials: today's was "buy one pound, get 1/2 pound free". When you're in the Suttons Bay/Leelanau area, bypass Dam Candy and Murdick's and head STRAIGHT for Candy World!
