Ahhh I need a 3.5 option. Can ice cream be bad? Definitely not. Can it be not the best? Yes. Had 2 scoops...carrot cake and banana pudding. Both were good for a few bites, and Definitely extra points for the banana pudding being a unique flavor. After a few bites, though, neither was exciting. I eat a lot of ice cream, and it's been a really long time since I had some that wasn't great to the very last bite, so unfortunately 3 stars it is. Service was great, though. Fast and friendly with a quick moving line. In addition to ice cream they have candy, tons of chocolate options (including chocolate covered chips) and fudge. I tried a sample of 2 different fudge flavors and they were excellent! Prices are high here..so if making a stop go for the fudge over the ice cream!

3/5 because I feel like all the chocolate house is the same. I walk in, looked around, got a cup of ice cream, that's all.

Love this place in downtown Manistee. If it wasn't so hot out on the summer day in July, I would have picked some of the chocolate goodies they had. Instead, went with some salt water taffy and a Boston Cooler. Boston Cooler was ok. Not enough Vernors IMO. Will try some of their ice cream next time around.

I loved how the inside of this store looks! It was so different from the other stores on the street that we had walked into. There's chocolate everywhere you look in here! I enjoyed everything I tried: chocolate covered chips, cherries, and the milk chocolate peanut brittle (different but pretty good!). They also have samples out by the register to try different items. In the back section they have their own ice cream flavors available. I ordered the birthday flavor and it comes with sprinkles rolled into it. The taste reminds me somewhat of the Coldstone Cotton Candy flavor (which I love). You can also sample the flavors, the staff here were really helpful and available at all times for questions

Typically our family will buy a half pound slab or two of Murdick's Fudge, because it is everywhere up here in the Traverse Bay area. I am *devastated* that I wasted thirty-some-odd years of my life on such sub-par fudge. I had no idea. 45th Parallel's Candy World (Yelp administrators, please correct your spelling) is a tiny shop on the side of a restaurant, but it has a hundred years of memories inside. Everything from clove candy, bubble gum cigars, big league chew, sour pucker powder, and even a giant Sugar Daddy. But behind the case are around twenty flavors of truly decadent, top-quality, gourmet fudge. Flavors such as dark chocolate salted caramel, bubble gum, maple nut, and peanut butter chocolate (complete with halved Reese's cups on top) tease the eyes while making the salivary glands work overtime. Our family's favorite is the dark chocolate salted caramel- the perfect amount of sea salt, and not at all bitter. Check the board outside for specials: today's was "buy one pound, get 1/2 pound free". When you're in the Suttons Bay/Leelanau area, bypass Dam Candy and Murdick's and head STRAIGHT for Candy World!
